There are two C-6s, both for 33 points. 27 for 318, exactly the same as the ones posted by 4t8 with the additional c6 at the start of my c's.
Kirsty - perhaps the word you're looking for is the H5 for 16 points?? not H6?? That's one that eludes me, still.

Is anyone else getting driven mad by flashing ads down the side of the screen?? (Next to the log) I keep getting a horrible bright red one saying 'WINNER' (ha!) and now there's an even worse one that's bouncing from side to side, also telling me I've won something. It's enough to drive me away from the site altogether :-(

Aaah, Kukana, I'm a WINNER, here, and at the tope of my email screen, and sometimes on a search engine's screen... and there's a host of people in Nigeria (widows and children of deposed Army Colonels) who want to give me a share of millions of dollars.... but heck, it's like advertising on television, it offsets the cost of the programming, and I don't pay out money to anyone.... I guess that's how Mr.Babble keeps the board free to us.

Thanks everyone, I don't mind ordinary ads at all, but the flashing ones give me a headache :-( I have the ordinary Google popup-stopper but the one at the side of the log doesn't seem to be a popup. I'll investigate smiley central and see if it helps. I don't know anyone who clicks on popups or bouncy/flashing ads so I should think they'd lose revenue rather than generating it for the site.

The j is for 14 points and could be made two ways on the grid!

I just make my window small enough that I don't see the flashing ad.... just wide enough to see the scores.
Wendrie, thanks - so obvious and yet I hadn't thought of it! I sent a message to Playbabble asking them to remove the flashing ads (I've seen other people on other sites complaining as they can apparently cause seizures in epileptics, and migraines in others - all I get is a headache and dizziness but that's bad enough). But in the meantime I'll go for a smaller window which solves the problem perfectly :-)

No, both are 4-letter words.
Actually, it's mathematically impossible to make a 10-point 5-letter word in this puzzle. It would require a 2-point letter.

dimwit...there are two c/33s, and the o is a 4.
O-word is 4 letters and similar to the name of a state.
According to the scrabble dictionary, there is another o word, ohone, that fits the grid, that isn't accepted, yet the one that is , has no meaning ! Pity they don't use Chambers or Oxford, it would be a better test of word power I think!
I cannot find the other 6/33! It's the only word I'm missing! Even wordfinder is no help...

It's easiest if you concentrate on the word it isn't, the person who takes your money at the checkout, the bank, the cafe, with one letter missing that isnt in the grid anyway.....
