good morning Sprite
*hugs flosey* Did you have a good day today?
yes thanks Sprite, a quiet day which was needed - tomorrow we have company arriving - a former student of hubby's
glad you could do a bit of recharging.
yes, seemed much needed! tho I don't really know why, haven't been overdoing
guess sometimes we just do :)
I've never met this one before but we do often have former students visiting - hubby likes to keep in touch - interesting to see how their lives play out
my grandparents on father's side did the same thing. I think it is wonderful.
it really is, some come with wifechildren - which is ineresting
meant to add wife/hubby and family
beautiful to see, I bet
yes, it is - the fact that they're prepared to travel from Toronto to BC - an expensive trip
speaks of the importance your husband has had in their lives and education.
yes and that, in itself, is satisfying - I know he has been a good teacher, has such patience with them, and really gets to know them
that is really beautiful
darn, brekky has arrived. but i did finish the top row. good morning my darling sprite. g'day flosey dear.

Good morning
hi guys
hmm all asleep I guess
I'm slightly awake
hi bichon I was thinking of you and jack russells. My dog will have a similar coat to the dog on Frasier , Eddie
he is a broken coat jack
just in case you were wondering which I'm sure you weren't LOL]
Cute. Do you have to brush him? Not too familiar with wiry coats
it is a cross between a soft coat and a wiry coat. I think you take them to the groomers a couple of times a year to get the coat stripped out. We will do that.
I have to brush him about once a month, but he's groomed every other month
Don't require th e amount of grooming anything like a poodle or bichon do.
I remember my poodles, I sent them to the parlor every eight weeks.
If you keep up with the brushing, you don't have a problem. If he's badly matted the groomer would do nothing but shave him down.
I did love the poodles but on the farm too hard for coat care. We have grass seeds at a certain time of year' Jack dont get the matted hair like poodles. the hair falls out on the ground ... or on the floor or your clothes or the bed.......
It was imperative that we get a non shedding due to allergies
I get allergies too. I am not too bad with Jacks.
Completely aside from dogs. My sister's son works in New York and she is going to visit him this year. She asked me to ask you Babblers, Does any one know anything about dude ranches? She likes riding and is thinking of doing a side trip to a dude ranch>
Do the horses ride the dudes at a dude ranch?
LOL I have no idea. No dude ranches in Aus. Just dudes
Not around New York. They're found mainly out west
She would fly no worries. She is researching on the internet. Most seem to be closed during october when she is there
There is a sort-of dude ranch near Lake George.
Much too much to see in and around NY. Foliage at that time
Have you or any of you ever been to one?
Not me.
She has been to NY a number of times.
Ridin-Hy Ranch. My friend stayed there with her family--but more of a kid-friendly place.
I have been to the pochonos and we walked on a frozen lake. you have no idea how bizzare that was for us.
I have written that down.
http://www.ridinhy.com/
www.rockinghorseranch.com
But it isn't like the dude ranches out west. Another friend took her family to one in Montana.
I am writing it all down so she will know i have done my duty.
But the best treasure in New York State is the Adirondack Mountains, my favorite place to visit. I will be there twice this summer for hiking and kayaking.
I haven't heard of them but I bet they are gorgeous and I will write that down as well.
The Adirondaks in Oct. would be fantastic
Stunning! I have been there in the fall too.
I guess it would be very picturesque with the leaves falling ect. We dont really get that much here as we really only have two seasons. autumn and spring are very short lived
I will make sure to tell her the alternatives to the dude ranch thing. A lot of these ranches seem to be closed during that time.
she has travelled an awful lot during her life so is looking for something different. She had a job which involved travelling all over the place.
It depends on what she wants to see.
We like hiking and kayaking so it might appeal if the ranches are closed.
Where I live there are lots of walks and also lots of places to kayak. We have kayaks
The Adirondack Mtns, at least the southeastern portion, are a 3-4 hour drive from New York City.
I am sure that your tourist places can arrange things if she was interested
Yes.
what time is it there Scrab, it's 7,24pm here
7:24 am. I just woke up and will be selling my art at the local farmers market in an hour.
You clever thing. we have a great farmers market in margaret river and lots and lots of artists live down here
I wont hold you up , have a great day!
Bye.
wo7, please?
wo7...the first part means to court or romance, the second part is almost all of a word that means unique then add a vowel.
thanks
Apparently it is an alternate form of a word that means arrow poison. Very obscure word.
thanks for the clue, that helped me too. and I looked it up on google ...interesting
ty Molly
form of curare
Maybe it is what Cupid dips his arrows in : D
I could make all sorts of comments on that one molly
Yes, as soon as I hit ENTER I realized I had opened Pandora's box : )
re6/21, please?
:)
Marc and Molly, have either of you two been to a dude ranch?
sorry no but I saw the Billy Crystal movie.
LOL so did I
Yes, thought of "Blazing Saddles"
Most of the good dude ranches are out west. If you go to duderanch.org you can find locations. I don't think there are any in New York.
My sister wants to know and she would fly anywhere but most of them are closed in October when she is going. She wants to talk to someone who has been to one. None here in Aus-
www.rockinghorseranch.com this one is in NY
It would be a good business here .
I will definitely tell her about that bichon
obody's thought of that in in Austrailia?
We have horse holiday treks and day rides but I don't know of any live in thing. A lot of Singaporian people come to Margaret River and they go on horse rides but they do lots of other things as well.
Australia has a lot of sheep stations. Not sure there are any cattle ranches though.
ty for wo7. help with other 7 pls
good morning all
My family has sheep stations and I used to go there for holidays. Lately some stations are providing stays for tourists. but not the horse thing and really the stations dont have the kind of scenery that the US countryside would have
We have very large cattle stations as well as sheep stations but it is mostly in very arid areas of the state
Wasn't the Billy Crystal movie "City Slickers"?
I think so Molly and it was very funny
pr6/24, please?
Why was I thinking Blazing Saddles?
Peri, the other 7 is fo7, the upper part of your upper appendage
yes molly
ty Molly
pr6/24, please?
Blazing Saddles was funny too. didn't that have Mel Brooks in it and Gene Wilder?

yes it does! no wonder i am always hungry when i play!
and ty for the wo- of course, there is no definition. i don't recall ever seeing the word.
lol. Hard to know which urge would be stronger: to eat it, or to leave it beautiful.
Someone earlier said it was another variant spelling for the arrow poison.
it WOULD look awful once served.
I can't imagine ever eating an owl. They're so enchanting
It's a new one for me, for sure.
you mean curare?
yeah, but there's a variant without the c, too, so you can see how that could be like that.
oorari
I see a version "wourahli", too... In other words, they have no idea how to spell the stuff!
most likely
I'd eat a chocolate owl with no qualms, bichon!
damned right

Bye, all.
same to you, vi, see you around
Usually spelled with an E at the end, the ox word is a chemistry term. Since I slept through chemistry, I have no clue.
Definition...An ox4 is a chemical compound belonging to the imines, with the general formula R¹R²C=NOH, where R¹ is an organic side-chain and R² may be hydrogen, forming an aldoxime, or another organic group, forming a ketoxime. Hence, my tendency to nod off.
