Hi Mzatty
Hi Mzatty
Hi Mzatty
Morning Ruby!
New laptop and l'm puzzled
That'll be because you're playing a word puzzle :)
Can I help?
I think l'd need a brain overhaul
Awww - I think computer manufacturers do it on purpose
I don't suppose you have stats for either of the H words, do you?
HA 5/14 & HE 4/9
I feel like going back to bed!
Thank you Zoom! I'm not yet technically out of bed...
((zzoozz))
They're obvious when they're pointed out! Thank you
Hello, Matty :-)
Hello, Ruby :-)
Not to me!
The HA 5 has 'en' in front of it most of the time.
I have the he, but not the other
ty zooz
Most welcome.
Sorry for not chatting. I was just trying to get a few quick words before I go. Exactly 40 left for later. I hope you both have a wonderful day!
Happy babbling everyone!
bye
You too - enjoy your day! 42 left here
Now I have 40 left
33 left and it's grey and bleak here. I wish there was a resto that delivered!
Could you pay your friend's son to go to a restaurant in town and bring you something?
had a lot of grey cloud here but no rain. Think we passed it all over to you Ruby happily because I've got three loads of washing out!
Ah, I miss the smell of clothes dried on the line. All the snooty homeowners associations around here won't allow clothes lines.

just come back. Blooming cheek Mollie where do you live ne** to Buckingham Palace!!!Id have to say my garden my washing line!!
gein
sorry
No, it's just that people around here consider clothes lines "tacky". I think they are great. Easy on your clothes and an energy saver.
How posh they must be! Do they have servants to do there washing?!!
there? their
A lot of people around here have cleaning ladies. I don't know if that involves doing laundry or not. I'm not sure I would want one even if I could afford it. Some things one should do for ones self.
They may be the sort of people that have a good spring clean the days before their cleaning ladies come!!
wile
sorry
In the UK most people have either washing lines or poles (sort of rotary things with many strings - it saves space). I do have a dryer, but I'm the exception. In my defence, we have a tiny house and tiny garden
ruby and matty I just got up a half hour ago had a little coffee and truthfully I did not want to get out of bed again today

dan, that girl is 4 years old and still has no name?
hahaha I haven't updated my profile text in a while
I thought that was a bit extreme
she's Beatrice
or extrem, as our grid would say
is she named after the food conglomerate?
I do like the name though. Good old fashioned names are making a comeback.
24 to go - bbl to list, hopefully.
hello everyone - just starting out
<---Lost. Thought Miss 2 Bit was 7 and her name was something else.
I had an old reference in my profile to when her cousin was born. I had forgotten about it, so updated my profile
2 famous brits in the grid today
Oliver twist.
Can't see who the other one is though.
don't see oliver twist -- was thinking of elgin and elgar
I can see Samuel Langhorne Clemens in the grid though.
no think FA 5/20
oh I see -- was thinking real people, not charachters in a story
Ah yes I see. I was thinking of valid words in the grid lol
guess I should have said british proper nouns
Nah it is me, Nan. It is getting close to my shut-eye time :-)
It is getting close to cocktail time here
:-) Enjoy, Ruru!
Or Red-eye time as we call it
LOL
On Saturday night we call it bleary/eye time
Be careful with those cocktails. You might get hungover from one drink. : P
I know I would, Molly!
I weigh a lot more than you zooz
This is a community of light weights.
Ha!
The fame of Elgin and Elgar eluded me. I had to look them up. Fagin, from Oliver Twist I knew right away.
I also dont make as strong a drink as you zooz
Was Oliver ever glazed over?
What tea! lol
Understandable Molly - British history was a big part of our education when I went to school and I was a music major.
To me there is no point to weak drinks. Have a substantial shot or don't have at all.
For me it is the flavor. I like stouts and I also like southern comfort & lemonade. But only for the flavor not so much the alcohol content.
Canadians seem to have a wide range of understanding of all things British. I guess that is part of living in a country ruled by another.
Okay time for me to retire for the evening. Happy babbling everyone!
we are not ruled by Britain and have not been for a very long time, but we do share a heritage
Zooz is Janis Joplin reincarnated
Isn't Canada a Commonwealth still?
I don't really know
Yes ruru it is
That's what I thought.
Ah ok
Some of these countries of the commonwealth became self-governing while retaining Britain's monarch as Head of State
the queen is head of state for all commonwealth countries and the UK, but she doesn't actually govern anything. It is a titular position only. She just rubber stamps all bills sent to her by the various governments.
That seems redundant, but apparently it is the way the people in those countries like it.
Yes, some of us do like to keep some of our traditions.
I believe Australia and Canada voted to stay in the group
Aren't Scotland and Northern Ireland still "owned" by the British?
Oh God, Wales too and a bunch of island countries.
Scotland, N Ireland and Wales have ther own assemblies yet England doesn't.
We own an island in the Indian Ocean which is rented out to America as a base
I don't know about wales - scotland is self-governing to some extent, but not completely as they share a currency. I suspect at the next Scottish election the independence issue will arise again as they do not want to leave the EU
But a lot of the Scots do not like what the SNP have done to Scotland and do not want another referendum, which has been put to the side as the SNP lost a lot of seats in the recent election.
sometimes the devil you know is preferable...our problem seemed to be that we didn't like the proposed method of selecting the 'president'.
yeah.. well we don't like the method of selecting ours either lynn
so I hear!
remaining a constitutional monarchy is no guarantee, although I don't think I would like living with a republican system of government. I do prefer the parliamentary system.
Its nice to have friends when you are relatively small as well - there are a lot of bullies around
We don't select our Prime Minister we can only vote for a party
speaking of which -- I do hope he aussie firefighters know how much we appreciate their help with our current wildfire situation.
