flosey, my father is a narcissist, who thrives on making other people miserable. He won't be able to help himself trying to bring me down. Can't keep my distance, because he will not let me, he will actively seek me out. So... a REAL challenge. Have I grown strong enough to handle him?
Yes, you have. Just try not to be alone and then if he approaches you, you'll have someone by your side.
and keep a strong picture of yourself in your mind. You know all this, though and I realise it's not so easy in the actual situation.
I wish, Liz! Talked it through with my therapist and I will write my father a note that I am going there for my sister's sake, and not to have anything to do with him. He will not respect that, but it will make it easier to refer to the note when he'll come up to me.

Rob will not leave my side! And talked with the kids too and they are clear on the whole thing, and able to stand up for themselves or come to us for support.

I have acquired a gorgeous (I think) creation, a very dear friend who recently died had quite a houseful of hats so they held an afternoon tea/auction with the take going to Hospice where dear friend spent her last days. My daughter borrowed it to wear to the horse races!! It did look good on her, must get a picture and I'll post it in here

this lady had hats hanging on her walls, as art decor!! If daughter sends me a picture wearing the had I'll post it here. We use to wear them all the time to church - so there was a flurry every Spring and Fall checking out the lovely new creations. It was fun, truly! I don't believe my friend ever left her house without wearing a hat! and she always looked great.

I have wide shoulders and at times I would take out the shoulder pads too
