Thanks, I didn't have the 6 for 24 but have it now after a guess or two at possibilities! I now have 54 for 926, keep hoping to break 1000 but somehow doubt it's going to happen. A - 5 C - 13 E - 6 F - 3 H - 9 M - 5 O - 5 R - 5 V - 1 Y - 1 That includes the 9, the 8, two 7s for 48, and four 6s for 42, 54, 24 and 33. Oh, and I did eventually manage to use the x, just once so far!
The 8 and 9 are compound words, closely related to each other :)
Kukana, May I have a definition for the 8/9 words or at least a starting letter, please? :)

Atalante, is it a common word. Can you give a clue, or a first letter?
It's a botanical word, not common at all. X is the second letter, that should narrow down the starting one a bit :-)
Not its not common at all! It starts with E and I only got it cos it sounds as if it should be a word LOL

How can we find out how many words there are altogether? I've hunted around before for online boggle solvers, but they all seem to list the words rather than stats and there's no point in that!

I've got exactly the same as you - except 1 more R and 1 less H. Same number of 6,7,8,9s and the same scores. But the extra R I've got is only for 7 so somewhere I've got 1 or 2 longer words. I'll do a breakdown of my 5s in a sec.

OK - I've been dumb. Kukana - your list from earlier has only 53 words in (unless I really can't count!) So actually I've got the same amount of words of each letter as you in that list plus an extra R. And now plus another V.
Vs - I've got a 4 for 7 and a 5 for 20

Ah, sorry for the confusion (just been away for a while). I re-counted and I do have six Rs, not 5. So I'm missing the V for 20, but that would only add up to 946 so there must be something else too.
Ah! I'm also missing an E-5. My six Es are two 6s and four 4s.
The E5 is for 18 And now I'm going to get utterly frustrated, I'm sure, trying to find your extra E4!
Okay, I am getting confused with all the add-ons now. I have 57/4.67/995: 5xA 13xC 6xE (but I am missing a 4 here) 3xF 10xH 5xM 6xO 6xR 2xV 1xY My five list is the same as Atalante's with the addition of an H and an O, i have 1x9, 1x8, 2x7, and 4x6. Given that I am missing an E, do those numbers match at all?

Wooo, got the O-5, which brings me to 58 words, 1004 points. If your missing E is a 9 (three of my four Es are for 9 points) than that would also come to 58 for 1004 So.... where on earth can the 59th be?! LOL!

The e that I expect some of your are missing was actually a typo for one of the other e words which turned out to be a Chaucerian spelling for a more common word.
it was a nine, so I am also at 1004. Maybe we have different e/4/9s? Mine are first, second, and sixth in my Es.
My E-9s are in the same places.
I mean E4s for 9 points, sorry, getting muddled here!

only have 2 E words 4/ and 4/6. Any clues for the others would be appreciated. I can't find the word using the X.
One of the E-6 words is an extension of an E-4 for 9. I didn't think it would be a word but typed it anyway and it was accepted. The other one is the x-word. Imagine a curvy bridge support, if you see what I mean, that exists no longer. Not that this is the meaning of the word, but it's what I thought when I typed it! LOL! The curvy bridge support is another 4-letterword in the grid for 9 points (but not starting with e)

parsec - it says it supports multiple dictionaries, so there could theoretically be more or less words.

Thanks I got the H5/26. Still hunting for the E5/18 and the last C5/20. The O5/14 is a botanical term for "a sheath formed at the node of a stem by the fusion of two stipules, as in the rhubarb plant". I didn't know the word got it by noodling.
The first 2 c/5 20 begin and end with the same 2 letters. Only the middle letter is different. The third means to have a desire for something
