it is St Francis"s Day at church where we had a blessing of the animals. the children all brought along their 'pets'. the stuffed inanimate variety. and our vicar blessed them all. on the way out, Kerry the Children's Ministry leader, stopped by me and asked if i had any valium in my pocket. apparently it was lke a zoo in the classroom.
aw yeah, I can imagine it is a bit much. But what a lovely idea.
usually we have many of the real variety, but this year it snuck up on us, and we didn't advertise in time.
I think it is a lovely idea to have children bring their stuffed animals. They are so special to children, and it is great to take that seriously.

oh and did i tell you, on Grand Final day (for australian rules football) Don and i stopped at the supermarket on our way. we were both wearing turkish smoking caps, brightly coloured velvet hats with gold embroidery and pieces of mirror sewn into place. an old codger saw us, and said what are you supposed to be. i said we were being a bit silly as we were on our way to a Grand Final party at our church. he was amazed and said i have never heard of a church having a Grand Final party. and i said, well ours does. at St Thomas'.

Hah, try it in French. So many people can't spell simple verb endings. Passer, passé, passait, passez are all prononced the same, but the first is the infinitive, the rest are the past tense or noun (as in it has passed), another past tense (as in it used to happen), and plural/formal present
worst part is when they add those endings to verbs that don't end that way
