Thanks, Lickety
thanks lickety
good morning all
good morning Sprite
*hugs flosey* Good evening, dear lady. How are you today?
great thanks Sprite, and you
I am fine, had a good sleep. A nice, low-key day ahead of me, time to finish the baby blanket/cape I am crocheting for my new baby neighbour girl.
good to hear, and that new Mommy is going to be very pleased
I hope so. My combination of cape and blanket is usually very well received. And now that the weather has turned really cold suddenly, a blanket is probably welcome.
and, also important, I get to continue knitting my owl sweater :D
you are a very busy lady
not too busy, thank God. Just most happy when my hands are doing something while watching tv.
we have 2 tv's in the house, I don't remember when I last watched one! occasionally catch the news - but most often depend on the daily paper
which reminds me... I still have some translations to make of recipes. The curry, I believe. And which other one?
I'll have to think back, but do remember a curry one
I never watch the news. I use the tv to watch series on netflix, or on dvd. My husband likes watching all kinds of news shows and other actuality programs, though.
When family was around it seemed that the tv was always on, guess I just got tired of it - I know there are many good programs, just got out of that habit I guess
I'm on here more often!!
I have found that the more channels they offer, the less watchworthy programs are on it. I wouldn't mind never having the tv on, except to watch series I like. But my husband likes to have the tv on even if he is doing other stuff. We are worlds apart on that :)
hehehe, that is our gain, flosey. It is lovely to have you here.
pllay bridge online sometimes
ty Sprite, that is sweet to hear. I do enjoy the chat for that reason, meet some lovely people
so true. The babble community is a good one. Lots of lovely people here, and pleasant conversations.
cooee from me. not good company tonight i'm afarid.
*hugs rose long and warmly* What's up, darling?
{{sprite}}, {{flosey}} hugs to you both sweeties.
tell me what's the matter with my bestie.
day out with June turned sour for me when she quite firmly reprimanded me for not 'dealing' with my mother's part in my childhood.
Hi there Rose, always good to see you - sorry you're hearing such 'old stuff' that should remain in the past
wthhhh? Awww sweetie... that is so unfair and un-called for. You did a great job dealing with that. And you still are doing it. Having a narcissistic parent wires you all wrong for life... it is a helluva job to turn that around. Takes a lifetime.
because i was weepy at times she thinks i haven't forgiven my mother. and need some sort of spiritual healing.
sometimes we just have to let the past remain as such - especially when it hurts
and when i gave her my version of heaven.... my God.... i'm surprised i am still here.
ughhhhh. That doesn't do you justice at all, rose. I'd say, the spiritual part is all dealt with. The emotional residu will pop up its ugly head once in a while when you are low on energy and high on pain. And the mental patterns were installed at earliest childhood. You cannot rewire them by will alone. And it takes a lot of dedication and time to learn new patterns and use them... which you are doing, every day.
flosey, everything i am going through at the mo' reduces me to tears.
well said, Sprite
ah, my dear Rose, wish I could just give you a big hug
sweetie, of course you are weepy. You have been running on empty for some time, with the infusion being so late. Pain will drain you to the point where you'll cry at the drop of a hat. And now that you have had the infusion, you still are in heaps of pain from the darn nerve. All your friend would have to do is to tell you, go on, cry, sweetie, here's my shoulder.
flosey and I are holding you in a virtual sandwich hug
although June would die for me, there are certain aspects she does not understand.
indeed
thanx my dear friends. i'm not weeping now, but smiling at the thought.
wonderful Rose, hold that thought
no friend is perfect... june is a lovely friend who loves you very much. I am sorry she cannot see your strength and loving heart in this matter.
i am pretty sure she would be appalled if she knew how much her words hurt, and the lack of not seeing, because you can't, as it is all inside.
I am sure she didn't mean to hurt you at all, she was thinking she was being helpful to a friend. Too bad she missed the mark by miles on this one.
*rueful smile* yup.
well, at least it is a smile :D
someone who has never been through a high level of pain will never understand.
oh, oh, btw. our pharmacist has asked Don and i to record an ad for youtube for her pharmacy.
so true. It is incredible, the things pain will do. Learning to live with pain is a challenge only the strong will manage. You have, and you are doing a wonderful job of it. Never doubt it.
oh LOL! My friend rose, the famous actor :D
well, time for me to hit the shower and hope it won't hit back. Flosey, have a lovely evening and sleep well *hug*
lolll. my darling, hugs and kisses to you and Rob.
rose, my dearest friend, lots of long, warm hugs for you. I hope you can hold on to the thought and feeling of being hugged and loved, and let go of the pain June caused you (without meaning to).
thank-you sweetheart.
love you to pieces. Have a lovely evening, and sleep well and relaxed, sweetie
I too must leave - just past midnight, sleep time
good night my dear friends

Um not into wang chung.

hi Ruby, always good to see you
((flosey))
Anothrr escape: saw "Jalouse" yesterday, a great film sttarring Karren Viarrd. l could understtand everything except for the jokes
Never heard of it, Ruby.
It's new and may have a different name in English
Nope just googled it and it is a french film
Karin viard.
Can you suffer through subtitles or, even worse, dubbing?
I can put up with subtitles as long as they are not going too fast.
I think it is something about a mother and her 18 year old daughterwho is a classical dancer and something to do with jealousy is about all I could get from google trying to translate some of the text written about the film, Ruby.
I've tried watching films with subtitles and find it very distracting
Yes it can be, Molly. Espeacially when they have fast action in the film. i can find it hard to keep looking at the text and trying to watch the action also. can start to give me a headache.
Especially*
Okay I have found 162 words. Back later to try and find some more. Happy babbling everyone!
I guess the moral of that story is that Jalousy is not a good thing : D
Good morning all.....sun is shining in Scotland today!
Good morning! Happy Thursday!

200 words and taking a break -- back in a bit:-)
Good morning, all!
Missing one J.
hi all, the paper clutter is overwhelming me.
* passes flame thrower to peri *
thanks but no thanks Judi, slowly but surely I am getting rid of papers and other stuff. it is a constant battle
I feel your pain, tho. Have much the same pile at home that I keep trying to ignore.
The cats keep knocking stuff off of it. Paper shamed by my cats.
oh dear
how many cats do you have, Judi. I am thinking of getting a cat. It has been 4 years since Zoe-Anne died.
I love Will and Grace but I did not care for the last episode of the new series.
rehashed programs are usually never as good
We are down to 2 cats, Peri. We had to send our boy Norman to heaven two weeks ago.
How old
was Norman?
He was 12-ish, Ruby. Not really sure, as he adopted us.
I am waiting for a capenter who will try ti figure out a way to install a dog flap door in the kitchen. For thge mo; the door stays open all night and it's getting cold
your dogs don't have to go out at night ruby.. that' just silly
they can just sleep and you can let them out in the morning..
Greaat idea, but Raffie sleeps outside until tthe middle of the night
why is that?
If l had that much fur, l'd probably sleep outside, too
l'm not much (any) of a disciplinarian
if I was a woman on my own.. I would never leave a door open
Good point, Ru. Although, you would hope that the dog would chew up anyone who attempted entry.
I don't even lock the front door. The male is a formidable Watch dog and the property is totally enclosed
Hi all....clue please for as7/28??
The"street" door is locked
yes.. I guess ruby.. it just doesn't seem safe
Safe enough
ensue
Sorry!
my dog may smother anyone who ever tried to break into our house. cuddle them to death. or drown them in slobbery kisses.
sadly my dogs just bark and lick anyone who comes in
Rufe is scary-looking and with his winter coat looks even biggger.
chows are scary in general
lol. Our dog doesn't even bark, Ru. She just stands there and expects to be adored.
And he is not friendly with strangers although he's never bittern anyine, if someone comes into thee housse, he stays betwenb me and the person, unless he decides it's OK
Kakashi tries to jump right into your lap. nevermind that your standing, lapless, and he's a husky.
ha
I love huskies
That's dorable, Eva, if Rufie jumped into my lap (such as it is), l'd be crushed
Kakashi is a lover, not an academic. ;)
Huskies are beautiful!
l'm too old for a lover, LOL
he is a husky mix...we dont know whats he is mixed with, but he looks all husky. though he is unusually colored, red/brown/tan.
<--I'm not
Yestterday l saw an Australian sheep dog (l th_ink) and he was beautiful but seemed craven at being in a shop -- tail bettween his legs, etc
usually Australian Sheep Dogs don't have tails
Then maybe it wasn't. It was grey and white, long-hairred and with a big tail. l don't think dogs can be legally docked in France
they do have tails.. but they usually are removed for their work
Huskies can have red/brown/tan coloring, Eva. A little unusual, but not rare.
Chows' tails reveal their emotions
I've seen a lot of reddish huskies
since they don't smile very often
there's a beautiful one on my walk named Smoky.. he's a really great dog
I've never seen a chow smile
They usually look serious. l've only had one who "smiled" and it was embarrassingly sheepish
Down to 44. Time for lunch. *POOF*
bon appétit!

Samantha the se 6/18 ending in s?
serate wont take.
not getting se blade one. is that an 8? i have the six.
MLF: Yes mkg: it's similar, not identical, and there's an extra vowel in the middle. it's like the se6 MLF asked about
still dont see or get it. the se 6 i have. so what am i adding to get the 8? a vowel? what do i add to the se 6?
never mind. just got it finally. ty.
mkg I think a vowel somewhere in the middle of the word
ty for great clues.
sorry i was confused.
i am still confused
have 4 of the 8s now. ty
it's a weird word, I'm glad you got it. Si 7/8: means twisty, bendy. If you add an "in" to the beginning of it, it means "implying"
MLF, take the word that mkg put in chat, the one that didn't take, and add the vowel tot he middle of *that* word
hi again -- was called away for a bit
