So I have used the Z twice, once to begin a word, and once within.

12:16 am

OK, that's just weird that I came out "first" in the score list yesterday- I finished like maybe an hour and a half before the game ended. Maybe it puts the rank in reverse order of finishing, for finishers.

12:21 am

used the z 4 times...twice within words and twice to begin words

12:24 am

Now I'm up to four uses for the Z. Three to begin, and one within (or rather ending a word).

12:25 am

z used 5 times

12:26 am

Me too :) Found another one, where I used the Z to begin.

12:28 am

z 6 times now

12:29 am

Curses!! Ya beat me. Hey, I'm pretty impressed that I found the ones that I have :)

12:31 am

I've used the 'z' 7 times- four to start words, 3 within or to end words.

12:32 am

I've got the 4 to start, now I've just got to work on two out of your last three Q...

12:35 am

a 7 for 36

12:35 am

Done for the night. Gotta go pack for a trip. 28 for 240. Lay-ta :)

85 words? And it looked so promising...

1:05 am

an 8 /90

1:12 am

42 words 419

1:23 am

42 for 543. The 8/90 eludes me. Goodnight.

1:34 am

I found the 8/90! It's related to a 4-letter word. 54 words/720, and it's bedtime.

Found a 9 for 78.

And a ten with the same ending for 105!

2:47 am

Today's BabbleStats: By word length: 4 ... 44 5 ... 24 6 ... 8 7 ... 5 8 ... 1 9 ... 2 10 .. 1 ======== total 85 ======== By start letter: D ... 13 F ... 3 H ... 3 L ... 6 P ... 18 R ... 8 S ... 7 T ... 14 U ... 2 W ... 7 Z ... 4

3:21 am

Zs ? I have four to start, one that contains it, can't find the word that ends with it, but the night is yet young. 46 for 581... nothing over 7s.

5:35 am

52 words/693 so far and not a clue to those 9/78, 8/90 or 10/105. :-( Got a 9/72 though. But now I seem stuck.

5:57 am

hooray for pasta!

7:40 am

The 9/78 and 10/105 are really dumb superlatives.

7:41 am

The 8/90 is dumb in a different way.

7:44 am

can you give a clue for 9 and 10 please

7:53 am

8:06 am

ah! thankyou! she said, feeling sligthly less stupid ;)

8:13 am

cant get the gaiters clues, but great clues for the others.thanks

8:17 am

got them now thanks for the clues

8:20 am

Thanks for the P9! Want that T10 and 8/90 but cannot get it... gaiters: nice protection for your feet when you take a hike.

8:51 am

I have 2 P7's. Are there more?

8:53 am

cant get 8-90

8:56 am

YES! Got the T10. Now that 8/90...

8:56 am

R6 & R7 Relating to or being any of a group of flightless birds

8:56 am

Hm. I see. My P7 does have to do with gaiters. Who knew??

9:10 am

Maybe a stupid question, but the listing of Goforit below, is that an official one? From the makers? Or the results of a very good noodler?

9:30 am

that goforit list was from me. following a method explained by jlm a while ago. I put the babble grid into an online solver, and copy the results into a text file (without looking at the results ... not that hard to manage if i take off my glassses). Then i just run a macro i've set up in a mini database that imports the words in the file, and then prints out the babble stats for me. Personally, i find it a LOT more enjoyable playing babble when i know what i'm aiming for. I'd prefer to wait for jlm's list ... but that gets posted a bit late for me.

9:33 am

Thanks for explaining! Yes, it is nice to know the numbers of words/letters. That 8/90 is driving me crazy, though! Must have 18 points... does it have a Z?

9:38 am

yep ... there's a z in there

9:43 am

Thx, got it now. Only a few small ones missing yet.

9:46 am

I'm looking for a T5 I have: Ti5 Ti5 Tw5 Does anyone have a fourth T5 ?

9:47 am

There is a weird Te5 that was in the puzzle a few days ago.

9:56 am

Ah... a lizzy!

10:03 am

Phew! Got it. Thanks for the help. That's it for me. 85 words 4.88 1380 ---------------- For those interested in words using a Z: D4 D8 H5 P4 S5 Z4 Z4 Z5 Z4

10:05 am

There`s an F9/72 .It`s definition is : foolishness or foolish act.

11:26 am

Will be back in about 6 hours, but does anyone have clues for 8/90, 10/105 or the other 9?

I think shortseer posted hints for all those a little while ago, youngster.

11:29 am

runningforhome, I know, but they didn't help me :-(

11:30 am

Wow, there is a 5/40.

11:33 am

fnurt yep, that z's quite useful!

11:34 am

I'm still missing a z/4 - think it's probably the first one

11:35 am

D8/90: stupid superlative for a D4 with a Z. T10/105: he who can move his thumbs the best is the t..... P9/78: shortseer gave a very good hint. Also a superlative. I am still short 5 5-words and about 8 4-words! Why are the little ones so much harder? ;-)

11:36 am

Got it :-)

11:40 am

Anyone with a word using the Y?

11:41 am

got the z/14 and D8/90 and already had the P9/78. Still can't see the T10/105. how are 10 letter words scored?

11:42 am

Haven't used the 'y'

11:45 am

10-words times 7

11:53 am

Finally got the T10/90. My spelling leaves a lot to be desired! Forgot about the double letter!

11:57 am

You mean the T10/105? Or the D8/90? :-))

11:58 am

Obviously more than just my spelling leaves a lot to be desired! I meant T10/105, but I've got both!

12:03 pm

Are you done now, youngster? I found 2 S's. Still 2 to go, plus 3 T's and 3 D's...

12:05 pm

Nowhere near. I've only got 38 words and 755 points :( Going to have dinner now, then out for some wine. That might help me find some more :-) then again...

12:05 pm

Enjoy!

Apparently 'hawt' isn't a real word. Who'd have thought? ;)

12:07 pm

And there IS no duplicity... keep seeing it!

12:39 pm

ooh love the d8 with z.

12:43 pm

Does anyone have another clue about the gaiters?

12:43 pm

can you please give a clue for the D8

12:47 pm

Eccentric or scatterbrained

12:48 pm

they're indian gaiters

12:49 pm

Sounds very close to the most 'light headed'

12:49 pm

The gaiters all start with the same 4 letters. Golf might give you a clue.

12:49 pm

Poephol, that didn't really help :-) Should it have?

12:50 pm

Poephol? You must be Dutch!

12:52 pm

my name is a joke. Ask cragesmure

12:53 pm

yeah, got the P6/24 and P7/36 but still missing a P6

12:54 pm

Sounds familiar to me... ;-)

12:54 pm

if u can rupt and disrupt surely rupt must be valid?

12:55 pm

There are a Pi/6, a Pr/6 and a Pu/6.

1:00 pm

sprite, I have all of these. I thought there was another Pu. shortseer said at 7.53 P6/P7/P7 sequence: gaiters, so I think it's a P7 I'm missing, not a P6!

1:01 pm

Still cant get the D8

1:03 pm

Treble99, the D8 uses tz!

1:04 pm

OK, then you need to ad an s...

1:05 pm

... and the sequence isn't perfect. There is a 5 in between.

1:05 pm

sprite, add an 's' to what?

1:06 pm

got it!!!!

1:06 pm

to the 6.

1:06 pm

But that's still only 5....thought I was looking for a 7!

1:07 pm

No, I had that 7, it's the other one I want!

1:07 pm

*lol* Add, not detract!

1:11 pm

Is the tz at the end because I am having trouble getting this word

1:12 pm

Nope, it's within.

1:13 pm

the P-sequence is: P6, P7, P5, P7.

1:21 pm

I think I will give up on the D8 word

1:21 pm

It's the last P7 I don't have :-)

1:21 pm

Treble99, do you have a D4/14?

1:23 pm

Treble99, the letters go upwards in the grid in the middle column, then down the right, ending with T

1:23 pm

For the last P7 you only need to change 1 letter from the first P7. Can't hear the difference, though.

1:23 pm

No I dont it yet

1:25 pm

Can someone tell me which S I am missing? Got 4/7, 5/28, 4/4, 4/4, 4/4, 5/14. Think I'll give up on the 3 D's and the 2 T's...

1:26 pm

sprite, Thank you :-) I thought I'd tried that one already, but obviously not! I'm going for some wine. Will be back after several hours!

1:27 pm

Treble99, you need a D4/14, ending with Z. Then work from there for the D8.

1:28 pm

Thanks everyone for all your help, I got it at last

1:28 pm

Never mind, got the last S.

1:29 pm

Treble99, the D4/14...think of the song 'putting on the R---' then change the R ro a D

1:30 pm

Sorry that should have read change the R to a D - honest, I haven't started the wine yet!

Oh god, now I'm thinking of the scene in Young Frankenstein where they sing that song... pure comedic gold.

1:32 pm

Just as well you couldn't hear me singing it!!!

I can't find the last H... I have a 5/40 and a 4/10.

1:38 pm

runningforhome, you need the 8.26 am hint from shortseer. Very unusual word. It is a H6.

1:47 pm

I have Ta, Tex2 (4,5), Tix6 (4x4, 2x5), Tu, Twx3. What am I missing?

2:04 pm

You are missing a Tix4.

2:08 pm

Is the Ta 4 or 5?

2:09 pm

4

2:10 pm

80 / 1328 and absolutely stuck... Why don't I just stop? This game is addictive, seriously!

2:13 pm

sprite - where are you stuck? My biggest hurdles are Ds and Ps. And I agree, quite addicting!!! For Ds I have 5xDi4, Di5, Di7, Di8, Du6 For Ps I have 2xPi4, Pi5, Pi6, PL5, 2xPR5, PR6, 2xPU4, PU5, PU6, 2xPU7, PU9

2:17 pm

You are missing a Du 4/5 combo, a Di 5/18 that is related to a 4 you have, and... a Dh ;)

2:24 pm

There's a Pl 4

2:25 pm

Also the D's. And the T's. For D's I have: 5xDi4, Di5, Di7, Di8 (same as you) and then Du4, Du5, Du6. Still 3 missing. For P's I have: 3xPi4, Pi5, Pi6, Pl4, Pl5, 2xPr5, Pr6, 2xPu4, 2xPu5, Pu6, 2xPu7, Pu9. And for T's: Te4, Te5, 4xTi4, 2xTi5, Tu4, Tw4, Tw5, Tw10. I miss the Ta fnurt has. And two more.

2:28 pm

You are only missing 2xD - The Di5 mentioned below, and the DH. And in addition to the TA4 you are only missing one more T - a Ti4.

2:31 pm

Sorry - should have been 4 Di4's.

2:35 pm

Tnx! Found the Ta.

2:36 pm

OK, some good clues and some process of elimination helped me complete the list. Thanks all!

3:18 pm

I have the Di5/12. Anyone a hint for the Di5/18?

3:30 pm

the Di you're looking for uses one of teh Di-4s. It's a more common word than I was looking for :-) Any help on the s 5 for 28? I know two of the letters it has to have, but all the combinations I've tried have been rejected <sniff>

3:32 pm

never mind...missing the complete obvious!! I think I need a break!!

3:32 pm

Common? That too... ;-) I feel really stupid, cannot find that last Di5. For the S5/28, think of opportunities. And of what you should do with them.

3:33 pm

The Di you're looking for is how you'll feel when you figure it out ;-) (think blonde)

3:36 pm

Ieeeee! That did it... thanks! Now I can sleep... got them all!

3:41 pm

Can someone please confirm that I've culled the clues correctly: are there 5 Ti x4?

3:42 pm

I'm still missing an R and an S I have: R's: 4/7 6/18 7/28 4/4 4/4 5/10 4/6 S's: 4/7 5/28 4/4 4/4 4/4 5/14

3:42 pm

That is correct: 5Di4's.

3:43 pm

5 Ti4's I mean...

3:44 pm

You mean Ti x4's?

3:44 pm

I'm missing the same two Rs and Ss! Any help on the U's?

3:44 pm

thx :)

3:45 pm

You're missing an S4/5. Has to do with sardine.

3:46 pm

Benjake, you are missing an S4/5 and another R5/10

3:49 pm

And an R5/10. Use yr mind and think of the relation magnitudes can have to eachother...

3:56 pm

Ehm... the 'think logical' part was meant to be hinting, not bitching... ;-)

3:56 pm

...yet again, I got stuck thinking there was only one R to work with. I really need a break! But I'm 5 away from completing the puzzle, so I want to keep going!!!!!

3:56 pm

Thanks! Got them both. I'm embarrassed to have not gotten the R5/10 before. The U's- 5/14 6/24 Both use the same starting pair of letter.

4:04 pm

Thanks for the U clues. Can I be obnoxious and ask for more? I'm missing one of the Ls: I have 4/4, 5/16, 4/4, 6/18, 4/4 And two of the Ws I have 4/10, 4/7, 4/7, 5/16, 4/7 Thanks!

4:09 pm

You miss one L4/4. They are the same, except for the last letter.

4:09 pm

and you miss the 3rd W. It's what you get when having more of the 2nd.

4:10 pm

Bj, missing an L4, and a W5/16 and W4/10. Is one of the Ti4 words odd? I think I've noodled every possibility!

4:12 pm

If it's the one I just (finally) found, it's odd to me: the definition is "To quiver; to vibrate; to veer about." Not sure if it's the same one you need, though.

4:14 pm

Not as odd as the Te5. Do you have the quivering Ti4?

4:18 pm

Is the W 4/10 an odd word? Is it in the dictionary, or should I just be noodling? Thanks for all the other clues! I'm one away from getting them all!

4:19 pm

Yes, apparently the quivery one is the one I need. I'll try again...

4:19 pm

Neither of the W4/10's are obscure words.

4:20 pm

:-)) No, it is a very common word. Perhaps one of the most used, even. It is what you get back when you tell people something new or unpleasant.

4:22 pm

Thank you:-) Thank you! I'm so embarrassed...I can't believe that one took me so long to figure out!! I did it!!

4:29 pm

Got the Ti4 already, Krys10?

4:32 pm

Just got it, thanks. Down to my last six words to find. Getting a complete list yesterday was dangerous, now I've got a taste for it!

4:33 pm

I know what you mean, couldn't stop today either. Good luck and good night.

4:51 pm

just got the f/9/72. What does the other 9 start with? What does the 10 start with please?

5:05 pm

Nevermind, I just read through the whole log and found out the answers to my questions>

I am only missing two words, both Rs and I cannot find them for the life of me! One is a 5/10 and the other is a 4/6, apparently.

Well, I found the 4/6...

5:44 pm

There are two 5/10 R words. One is a plural, so I'm guessing you have that one. The other is a mathematical word (but quite common). Think fractions.

5:51 pm

Peri...P 9/ and 10

6:09 pm

Any clues for the f/9/72

7:32 pm

marigold, you have mail.

7:34 pm

marigold, I only have 55 words

7:41 pm

youngster, I looked the f/9 up in my scrabble dictionary.

7:54 pm

youngster, have you found the f/9 yet. Clue: utter foolishness, or something utterly stupid or silly. The word in the puzzle is the plural.

7:55 pm

I am confused. Does the 10 letter word start with P or T.

7:58 pm

I am missing an H. I have 4/10 and 6/33. What am I missing?

7:58 pm

the 10 letter word starts with a T

8:00 pm

marigold, do you have the t/10 word?

8:05 pm

no still looking

8:10 pm

does the T 10 start TW anyone

8:12 pm

I am sorry I forgot to say please

8:14 pm

do both U words start with UP?

8:17 pm

marigold, I got the T/10. It does start with TW.

8:19 pm

marigold, you have mail

8:25 pm

THANKS perwinkle

8:28 pm

your welcome :)

8:28 pm

should have read: you're welcome

8:29 pm

8:34 pm

thanks, you do too, marigold

8:46 pm
