and good morning to you too miz spritey. xoxox
*hugs rose* Yesssss finally! Just read your email, good reading all over there, you rock, lady.
*grin* yeah....
am sorry for your vicar though. Poor lady.
how are things in your household? a generic reply will do... loll
it sucks sprite, it really does. she was damned if she did, and damned if she didn't.
hi there Sprite, didn't see you come in
{{flosey}} hello dear lady. xoxox
we are good. Quite a lot of talking and a lot of hugging. Rob went away for a few days, to work on the canoe. It needed coats of lacquer and for that, he needed a warm room big enough for a canoe! Luckily, we have one at canoe club so he went there and stayed the nights over, in order to have a full day to work in and enough time to let it dry. It was also a nice break for the both of us to focus on ourselves. He'll be home later today, which is good cuz I miss him, and he me.
*hugs flosey* Hello dear lady, good evening to you. How was your day? Are your visitors still there?
had a great day, company over the weekend, daughter & boyfriend and his parents, all left today
dee, i know you are there. please don't answer, but you have been in my heart and prayers lately. please send me an email as i feel something different has happened to you. xoxox
it is tough, being a vicar. People are so demanding and so ungracious. Especially the old biddies who start yelling at any perceived change of schedule or what they see as infringement upon their 'rights'
glad you had a good time, flosey! And now some flosey-time to relax in and cherish the memories.
for sure
sprite, all your news appears so nice and positive. still praying for you both. i ain't gonna let go.
we still need your prayers very much, hun. Rob is far from well. But the openness helps. One good thing: he has decided to stay home from work this week. And will see therapist on thursday.
oh yayayayayay !!!
yes, wisdom is slowly arriving, LOL. Can't force him to stay home, but can pray for wisdom, and simply tell him how I see things. Then let him work it out for himself and decide. Then support his choices, no matter what they are.
flosey ?? have i hurt you or something? i did say hello.
I bet that got lost in our lengthy chat posts, grin.
good choices sprite.
never mind. i guess i'm being thin skinned. she knows i love her.
yeah, don't worry hun, I bet she did not see your post and then got lost in the grid again.
*hugs rose's thin skin and firms it up against hurts*
COOEE FLOSEY !! OVER HERE !!! COME OUT, COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE....lolll
wooot rose, that is some pair of lungs you have!
dear, could you firm up my waist-line too please. i would like to it once more before i die...
Hello Rose, sorry, I thought I said that already!!! - quite tired tonight but hoping to finish this before giving in to sleep
I love your waistline exactly as it is, rose
awww flosey, was yanking your lariat, sweetie. i can imagine how tired you are.
ah but it was wonderful Rose, and I'll make up my sleep tonight
if you like hugging a big ball, go ahead, make my day
imagining flosey falling asleep with a huge smile on her face.
you bet, Rose, lots of laughs but also getting to know new friends
I love hugging you, silly, and you are not a big ball, you are fine. Don't worry about your waist. Just keep an eye on your health as much as possible. I know how tough it is when you cannot move as you would like to.
btw, have you noticed that the babble site is no longer a secure site?
nope. I use the lickety browser.
the babble site has never been a secure site
i am not sure of the implications of that. but i would advise you to go into your account and change your password at least.
hiya Buggie
hey
really buggie. i thought when i first started playing it was. now that's very unsettling.
no need for that. If it no longer shows as secure in your browser, it does not mean someone is after your account.
i can think of one gremlin who would LOVE to hack into my site.
secure site means everything is encrypted before being transmitted. It's not something that was common outside of banks a few years back
ah, thanx buggie.
now it's the latest trend, and even browsers are starting to warn users
brb, can't hear DH anywhere.
that one has long gone to find new people to harass, honey. And the secure thing has no impact on your playing babble. The encryption is meant to hide credit card data etc.
thanks, Buggie :D
the only risk is if a hacker intercepts your internet connexion while you're logging in to the website. that's something you rarely do, as you're automatically recognised using cookies stored on your computer. And is extremely unlikely if you're using your home connexion (it's more for public Wi-Fi and things like that)
what he says, rose! :)
;-) Can you tell I work in IT?
ah buggie, you explain everything in my language. thax so much.
totally! Very nice to have your expertise to clear our minds.
i fear the IT peeps, including DH, i know all speak another language when i ask a question. i think that might make them nerds... loll
FW and off to bed, good night everyone
will brb, gonna make me a coffee, seeing I still have time before leaving for a meeting.
WTG FLOSEY !!! sweetest of dreams honey.
I do a lot of support via email and write articles, so I had to learn to explain things
and it shows. good for you buggie.
thanks
btw are you really in france? or is it a wish destination?
I'm in France. My family moved over from England when I was 9, so been here most of my life
what a pity i didn't realise when we were planning our trip to europe. what part of france do yo hail from?
There are a lot of Brits here. Actually it's quite funny, because they all move to the countryside. I live in a big town. It's hard to get british products. But go out into the middle of nowhere, and there are English shops everywhere
I'm in Poitiers, which not far off half way between Paris and Bordeaux (a bit closer to Bordeaux)
maybe next time, rose, we'll go there for a few days in stead of Annecy!
we were in veyriers du lac. that was after Paris and Ronchamp
yeah sprite, we could descend on buggie like an avalanche, and expose him to my dreadful schoolgirl french...*giggle*
(back, but you guessed that already)
oh that looks like a nice area. I've been to Lyon and Grenoble once
I found Grenoble quite claustrophobic as it's completely enclosed by mountains
or mine, grin. Very rusty, my french.
being in a dale can be difficult when you are used to open space all around
oh I'm used to bad French, my parents live in the countryside and the French don't really mix with them, so they've never managed to pick up the language
it was really nice there, yes, Buggie. Very beautiful countryside. A beautiful lake.
buggie, we went to Ronchamp to see le corbursier's notre dame chapel. it was glorious.
actually, funny story about languages, I went on holiday with a friend. We took the bus from Paris to London then Amsterdam. We had less language problems in Holland than in England... The amount of people in London who don't speak very good English, especially in restaurants...
oh that is really funny! How unexpected, that.
roflolll, buggie.
of course, Dutch people learn their languages because they have to, being such a tiny country with so many international connections.
I'm allergic to peanuts. We found a restaurant in London that did japanese ramen (noodle soup). White waiters, so we think great, this'll be easy. It took forever. They brought out the allergy chart, saying I can't order that as it has soy in it. I'm not allergic to soy. I cant't have that as it has sesame. I'm not allergic to sesame
must have been irritating, next to being funny
In Amsterdam, we found a ramen restaurant, with asian waiters. My friend talked me into trying it. Asian staff usually say no problem without understanding you. I usually discover I can't actually eat the food if I can find a white waiter
so in we go. I take a deep breath and do my introductory sentence that I'm allergic. The woman answers me in impeccable English that they don't use any peanut products
I nearly cried :D
aw that is great :)
that and we came across quite a few people who could speak French in Holland, including the guy we were renting a room off
ROFLOLLL buggie. that must have been a relief. but then... it's quirky enough to tickle my funny bone
which was great for my friend who speaks very little English
many people speak french here. Especially the older generation.
I actually really like Holland. It reminds me a lot of how England was a few decades back
i looove Holland. try and guess why....
*grins* Are we that backward?
ours is a lovely country. Beautiful and lots of nice people in it and many interesting things to visit.
try again sprite... * nudge, nudge, wink, wink*
lol rose, you are soooo prejudiced ;)
haha, no. England has lost its charm. There's this whole idiot culture. The cult of the dumbest... Holland was like being back in the culture I knew when I was little
then I hope we will not follow england on that road
Even the language is very similar. Apart from the guttural R sound, it feels like the only reason you don't understand is because you weren't paying attention
that is very interesting. I always feel like german is much closer to dutch than english is, but for me, english feels much more natural.
We were staying in the residential area on the north bank on Amsterdam. We went for a walk and stopped in a bar. And realised it was basicly an arab bar. But they were speaking dutch and made us feel welcome. It made us feel quite safe. In France they would have been speaking in arabic. Here, we couldn't understand it either, but that was our fault for not speaking the language
I am glad they made you feel welcome and safe
German is closer in the words, but English is closer in pronunciation, I think. There are sever studies on language development that use those two languages because they are the last 2 that babies have trouble telling apart
isn't this lovely ? i am so enjoying chat with you both.
I didn't know that, that is fascinating. Must remember to tell my daughter. She is studying Linguistics.
it is!
just checked, no clue as to buggie's age. are you okay chatting to a couple of old bags?
royal plural there, rose? Hmmmmm?
haha, no I'm 36
lolll, come on out sprite... you're not getting any younger.
lovely age, Buggie! Young, compared with us... rose is right, I am over 50 already too.
my middle son is 36 this year. i know how to talk to you buddy.
fireflies. Had to resort to lickety for my last few Ss, and then of course discovered I had forgotten some plurals.
haha, you must be close to my mum's age then. I know how to talk to you too :D
WTG SPRITE !!!

Think of breathing problems, Matty for the AS words

MA 7 & 8 think of a certain style of paving broken up and used.
