haha! Weather just sneaks right in when they're not watching. I only check predicted temps when I have to dress comfortably enough to not freeze, and I usually layer, just in case it gets warmer

we have a king charles cavalier spaniel
He knows her. Not as well as his previous groomer, but she had a brain tumor show up last year, poor gal. She's doing well, but getting a 2nd round of chemo and only can handle little dogs - my Blaze is 70+ #

so true. You weren't here yet, I think, when we were deciding on which breed of dog. Several babblers adviced me to take a spaniel, and Atalante specifically pointed me to the king charles cavalier. It is the perfect dog for us in every way.

I adore spaniels. My first doggie love was a cocker my uncle had - I was all of one year old and called it the "goggie wid da gort goat" my mom said. I've had a mix that was supposed to be a Cocker, but was more King Charles - a pretty red girl. Then I adopted a Springer who showed up at the local shelter. I had him for years. When he passed, Springer was all I could imagine again. I love German Shepherd Dogs and Dobermans too, but Springers are just right for me.

it was fun finding the right breed. Atalanta and Haz asked all kinds of questions about our lifestyle, then said Spaniel... just as happy to trek all day with you as to laze about, great tempers, sweet and cuddly. And then because of my physical limitations, a small dog was needed, so KCC spaniel :D
Perfect! You're right, I wasn't here then. I'm glad you found a good companion. If I had a fence that could contain one, I probably would have another. Loved my Lucy. My neighbor breeds and shows Corgis. They're ok, but yappy. She gets crazy (and illegal with a propane torch) trying to keep foxtails out of their yard. Two years ago she burned part of our property! The fire dept came out on her last year, and two weeks later, she was at it again.

Yes we do. And hubby's house is gone from the big fire in 2015. We can't even start to rebuild yet either, the county is being stupid about permits and such. Our gov't is broken, I hope not beyond repair at the next election. Hahaha, it is one of those grids...

good idea, LOL! I like the little stickers best, but they only work for sores on the outside of the lips. The ones that are partly on the inside will have to be creamed. Every few hours.
Oh no I like it nice and warm. Not keen on the cold weather at all. Why I was born here I will never know. My parents should of had me in a much hotter climate than here.

I've very left and so is my husband, who is a gun owner
he's just a gun owner in favor of restrictive and sensible gun legislation
I don't have a problem with normal, responsible people having guns. But it gets dicier with people who have children and aren't super safe though. I think people who apply to get guns should get more screenings, and background checks, and some testing. I think the same for people planning to have children though :D
I think there should be mandatory insurance, mandatory checks to make sure guns are secured properly, and revokable gun licenses

There are 3 legally held firearms in my house - a single barrel & a double barrel shotgun & a rifle. They belong to my son. In order for him to get a licence for these, he underwent psychological & physical examinations (eyesight/hearing tests). The police then came to my home to inspect the gun-safe where these articles are kept. The gunsafe has a triple mortice lock & is bolted to the wall, the floor & the ceiling. I still hate the fact that these damn things occupy my home.
And there's the problem. It's the kind of gun.

Funny story..... A Tax Clearance Certificate in this country is called a C45. Before computerisation, fraudulent C45's could be bought on the black market. An acquaintance of mine negotiated with a well known Dublin criminal to obtain a C45. Substantial money changed hands. Imagine his horror when, instead of a Tax Clearance Certificate, he found himself in possession of a Colt 45!

Oh, we all are, Ru. We were audited once. They wanted our tax forms from 12 years prior + the records on the sale of our then house. I sent them the HUD 1 statement and told them to go pound sand because the cut-off for audits is 11 years (or was at the time). They sent me a follow up letter saying no further action was necessary.
