This board is uncharacteristically easy for me.
My usual goal is nbt, nbs, all ≥ 7s, and at least halfway. I call that attaining mediocrity.
Love that this board contains at 7 and de 5 :)

Hi jhb. Do you mean Lickety's list (Babble Expert)? http://r46.me/BabbleExpert201\n10410.zip watch for "/n" inserted into this link... you will have to take the extra character out
Thank you Kate. Just getting back into it and I’m not as good as I was.
It takes practice.. and remembering the little babblets is half the battle. good luck to you - and welcome back!
Thanks.
good night jhb. Enjoy the grid; this one was very friendly. A good one to ea 4/4 you back into the game :)
Bonjour
((Ruby)) how is it going?
Coolsun is shingbut they're predicting stormsin the afternoon.
55zzoozz))
Supposed to be kay here for the next few days!
okay*
Would you like me to send you some books. Many are slim, often uncorrected proofs.
My sister's husband was a critic and l just can't read to many.
too*
Aww that is very kind of you, Ruby. But I should be okay. i have a new one coming to day in fact!
She keeps sending more, but it is too expensive for her to keep sending them but l have (literally) hundredsof books and nobody here reads English.
I am reading an awful series by Marcel Proust. I was told it was excellent but I am finding it a chore to read.
l'm talking about send you MANY! My house is so full of stuff that it's overwhelming!
I think it is too intellectual for me lol
I read some of Proust in college, but it required too much concentration and, sadly, it never "gripped" me.
Too difficult and impossible in French!
I do not like the ay he will describe a tree that he saw but it reminded him of one in another place then another place then another place and so on by the time he has finished describing that I have forgotten what the hell he was talking about in the first place. He does that all the way through.
Many of the books l could send you are short novels and maybe a couplemight pique your interest.
lt's all i can do in a day, to play a few games, read the New York Times, eat as much as l can ad try to stay warm
I would like that, ruby. But feel it will be a lot of trouble to pick them up. i am never here when the postman/woman arrives then I would have to go about six miles to the depot to collect them. I only have a bike LOL And it is way out the way in astupid place that it suited to cars.
l felt the same way about Proust. There was another major book in,severalparts, highly recommendedby second husband, "A Man Without Qualties". Waaay above my head!
Well it is supposed to be warming up a bit so lets hope you can stay warm easier soon, Ruby.
Not heard of that book.
If you can think of aplacel could send them by mailorby UPS, you'd be doing mea favor. What about sending them to your parents' house, or even one or two (they're slim) bynregular post?
I am waiting for a book called "short british stories"
I waited in yesterday but no show so that was one day my sister had to go round and do parents meals. And i have to do the same again and my sister has to go round again to do the meals. It is not fair on her as she has a family to look after. I do feel guilty.
I don't mind doing that but I know for a fact my dad would hit the roof giving their address to someone they do not know. Even if I told them I know the person. He is a very stubborn stuck in his way guy. He does not trust anyone!
He needn't worry -- toddling up to the mailbox takes all the energy l have!
Does regularmail get delivered to your house?
swat
sorry
Yes normal mail gets delivered. anything bigger than a CD and they will knock on the door.
Already had that word.
I have one seven but need one more.
I am down to 22 words left to find and struggling here.
wetish
sorry everyone
at7/32 non-believer
Was trying it with just one T LOL
Yep that is the one I have!
i have a sw 7 zoo
sw7/52 all wrapped up, like m ein my "couch blankets"
Ah okay thank you, Ivesy!
yw
hi ivesy
hi ruby
Oh my I had the root word but did not PT it! Thank you both.
Darn those Old English words : D
There are too many of them, Molly lol
Good morning, Molly
I think because the Bible made "swaddle" famous, we all tend to think of that one
New English is hard enough. l have 80 words, nbt and nbs, and slim chance of finding more
l think in terms of sw****** of wildflowers (weeds) in the garden
I am down to 20 words but as usual i am getting one of each left on a tile. Except the As I always struggle with the A words.
l love (NOT) when people talk about how ea**y a grid is.
Must admit it is very rare for to find any drid easy. Some are easier than others but I seem to never find them easy.
Grid* noy drid.
I am not on the level of the word geniuses who solve these things in record time. That is why I don't read the flip if I happen to be up then. Plus all the cluing that goes on.
Are they listing or just whizzes?
No idea, Ruby. I just play the game how I want to and let the speedy babblers get on with it lol
No way of knowing who looks at the list and who doesn't.
l'm just happy to jump in and do what l can and see if any friends are here.
Speedy Babblers. That sounds like a BBC show like Peaky Blinders. : D
Never seen peaky blinders but I know it just won an award.
I thinnk it won a BAFTA.
I have discovered that just because a show won an award doesn't mean I'm going to like it.
lt's a pleasure to see friendly chats, share the weather report, ask about neutral subjects.
Oh I agree with that, Molly.
There are certain shows that people rave about. Then I will try them and be like "what?"
please could i have a clue for he at7
And Irish friend recommended Peaky Blinders, but l couldn't understand what they were saying; they might as well have been speaking Chinese!
non-believer
*the
clue for at7 at 4:15
thanks ruby
For me personally I have never understood why so many people loved faulty towers. I just do not get it.
First series of Peaky Blinders was terrific I thought although pretty violent. But the Brummy accent takes some getting used to!
Especially with comédies, when actors speak fast, often with accents, l neve rget it
I did not know there was more than one series LOL
What's "brummy"?
I think Fawlty Towers improves with watching. I find it funnier now than ever.
Birmingham.
thanks
not the one in Alabama!
Accent of Birmingham residents.
I didn't know that term either Ruby
Voted the most unattractive regional accent in the UK.
l don't understand French comédies, either.
Liverpool people have a liverpudlian accent.
I bet they were pleased, Sam!
l have an American accent in French, but my friends and helpers here don't seem to mind.
Don't know how "scientific" the study was but the accent is generally considered rather downbeat & ugly even by a lot of Brummies.
When I use the Gaelic pronunciation site I always have it set to SLOW. Irish people tend to talk really fast as well.
I like the American accent. there are some regions that are a bit strong though and hard to understand.
Especially since none of them speak English. My helper have learned various profanities from me.
Oh Irish talk can be very fast and difficult to understand.
My US accent is very neutral;it only took a year of corrective speech at university to get rid of my NY accent
LOL , Ruby naughty lady.
I used to have a neighbor with a really thick Irish accent. When I listened to him, I smiled and nodded a lot, not getting most of what he said.
LOL
Saddled with a pronounced local accent, it is very hard to advance career-wise.
I always hoped he wasn't talking about a funeral or some sad topic.
hahah
When movies are too difficult, l just nod off -- expensive nap!
Considering the fact that Gaelic is the "language of my people" it really should come easier for me. Alas, it does not
All the Irish people I got to know seemed to always be happy and friendly.
A steady diet of Jameson helps with that, Zoom : D
lol
Aw ruby. at least you got out of the house :-)
I have close friends from Dublin whokeep a house here and come a couple of times a year and l can understand the mother and daughters, but not the husband AT ALL
Depending on which way the wind is blowing, the Irish can be either funny/whimsical...or keening and melodramatic
Seems like that here on the Isle of Wight, Molly.
My friend Catherine and l go to the cinema once a month
Otherwise, l prefer to stay in the house
Hah! I'm lucky if I go to the movies once a year. I just find them way overpriced for the experience.
I have not been for years now. I am told the popcorn pot is about £6 for a small pot!
l buy lunch, she pays for the movie (and drives!). We've been friends for about 16 years. l'm very fortunate!
Sounds nice, Ruby!
She also takes me for my tri-monthly oncologist appt, making sure l understand what had been said.
Nice to have friends like that, Ruby!
For all the rest of the medical stuff, they either come to the house (blood tests, shots, drugs) or l take taxis.
How is all that going, Ruby?
And in celebration of this weeks great ne*** about my bloodwork, another friend brought me a big bouquet of white peonies
That is great. Peonies are lovely.
Excellent, Ruby!
My cancer markers dropped 79 pts since 23 April, so it seems the strong chemo is helping to keep this cruel cancer at bay.
Sounds like all your hard work and positvity is paying dividends, Ruby!
And you are gaining weight too!
If we ever have a week of warm weather, my roses and peonies will be splendid
We have had a solid week of heavy rain and everything here is a soggy mess
Right I need to get a bite to eat and wait for the postman and probably be nothing but the wedding on the TV channels. Really nice to see you all and thanks for the chat. Happy babbling everyone!
With a lot of help from you guys! l'm a robust 45 kg and feelmuch better than l did at 37! Also takng fewer pain meds
((Ruby)) you are an inspiration to us all!
Wonderful news Ruby. That is a smile. : D
Sorry about all the wedding hoo-hah Zoom. I'm one of those people who could care less. It is funny to see so many people at one event wearing dreadful hats though. : D
Or couldn't care less. I always get that one wrong.
At least I have not started saying "all of the sudden" : D
good morning all. that is great news, ruby!
good morning! could I have a clue for the dw5?
D + drink made from grapes
thanks Alicia!

Since the bunny woman isn't around, it might be a good time to cue up Ozzie Ozbourne's "Kiwll Da Wabbit"
I heard that once. It wAs very funny
Scrabs is haredly here these days
And nobunny knows why
We will start pelleting with puns now
Or it could lagomorph into another subject
Or we could just lapinto another topic
I could try another lopeared topic?
My friends are showing up soon. I’d better hop to it
Are you still in your bunny slippers?
No, but I have been twitching my cottontail to the good music that is playing
I just learned that wowza isn't a word. I'll have to stop using it.
... you must keep using it or it will never be a word
Wowza the 3rd column w has me stumped.
People think "anything" is a word these days. How often do you see alot instead of a lot?
zo 4/5/5/4 ... the second 4 is a common word
My pet peeve is I've got. If you have than you don't need got.
Great clues but I think the w was asked for
Tish Addams is in the grid.
... it's way to much to think about what happened to "far"

3 w to go.
*Shuffles off to penalty box, rummaging for snacks*

The points di5/22 will give you a clue
*Looks around* The all day cluer seems to be missing today.
FW, last word was a latin plural!
Well done Mael.
done!
Well done ypsigirl !!! '
All day cluer?????
Kate, she is usually here all day giving clues. Must be having wifi connection problems.
*Waves at Dee,,,miss you : D
Oh right. I appreciate Kate's clues. I also envy people who have so much free time they can Babble all day. I seem to have less & less spare time the older I get. If I'm not collecting an offspring from the airport, I'm delivering one there. Before their arrival, I'm changing bedding - after their departure, I'm cleaning up after them. Sometimes it feels like a feckin' circus.
Hello everybody
Ah!!!! How lovely to see you Rubes. Big squashy hugs(((())))
((soodle))
I hear you Soodle. I have a somewhat hectic life and being on the computer all day playing word games is not a part of that scenario.
l think it's great that the bairns keep coming back to you! And l don't believe you mind your Airport chauffering!
lt's true, Kate is always here
so happy to hear you are doing ok healthwise, Rubes.
Thanks. l'm feeling surprisingly strong. Hopefully it will last a whilr
l've even hired a proper gardener because l intend to make it through next summer, too, and my garden looks like a jungle
And I read that you are practically obese (!).... Lol. Just kidding ... But great to see you're doing well
hi folks
Would you believe that the little holly l planted 19 years ago now has at least 6 babies all over the place.
Hi Peri :-)
And is probably 15 ft tall
Ruby, I have a full acre of garden. It's all I can do to keep the wretched grass cut. If I had the €€€€, it would all be slabbed over.
An acre? Wow.
Peri. What is the current toenail polish situation?
there are bare at the moment. waiting til the weather stays consistently warm. thanks for asking :)
Rubes, I hate each & every blade of grass!!!!
One of the problems is that since there was Nothing much on the property, l planted all sorts of things without having any idea of what would live or die
Peri, please keep me up to date on any changes :-)
most definitely, Soodle. my hair on the other hand is a dark ash blonde. I have been coloring it myself since last summer. It will lighten once I wash it a few times tho
went to a library book sale today and got a large shopping bag full of books for $5.00. most for me but a few for two of my friends.
Oh, I had a hair disaster earlier this month!
17 books
what happened?
My husband just wanted a lawn and now it's all gone to "wild flowers" (weeds)
What kind of hair disaster?
Crows were building nests in the eaves of my house, so I decided to squirt expanding foam into their nesting sites
so they made a nest in your hair????
Long story short - expanding foam fell into my hair....whilst still liquid & quickly hardened. Absolute DISASTER
aarggggh
LOL Ruby!!!
was the expanding foam an actual hair product? sounds awful
The only side effect from the strong chemo is that my hair has gotten as curly as it was when a was 6!
No no no- expanding foam is a hideous DIY product.... Google it, Peri.
oh no. Soodle, never heard of it. will check it out now, brb
Did you have to chip it out with a Hammer & chisel?
Ha!!! I've never had chemo, (thank God), but menopause has given me ridiculously curly hair.
No Rubes, I had to get it cut out at the hairdressers
Your hair always looks great in your photos. l expected mine to fall out, so this has come as a sur^prise. Maybe l'll ge younger, Benjamin Button all over again
Good night; lt's sleepy time here
Ha!!!! Wouldn't that be great? A Benjamin Button life.... End your days as an orgasm???
Night Rubes, old pal X
back, tht must have been some mesh, Soodle, did the hairdresser cut it all off
it is not a big grid but I am tired.
not all of your hair, just the parts that were ruined by the foam
And, now that I've scandalised the chog talking about orgasms, I'll tactically retreat!! Sorry (not really sorry) If I offended anybody.
No, Peri.... Just the affected bis. Hair a bit lop-sided at the moment. :-)
People who are offended by orgasms must lead a very boring life. : D
at7?
