Must be a billion words in this grid -- in 30 min I've got 7x7 ltr and I'm usually very slow with the bigger words. Night all! 101/4.89/1317
I HAVE 70 AFTER 25 MINUTES
found an 8/ 55
At least one 9/54
an 8 for 45 also
From the lower right hand corner alone, I've got 27 words in just a few minutes, three of them 7's!! I almost never find 7's, let alone early on in the puzzle. I'm totally psyched!! :)
825 for 81 in 50 nite
Wee-whoo!! Three cheers for the the ceremonial dinner on the first night (or both nights) of Passover. Wee-whoo!! Wee-whoo!!
i haven't been able to babble all week and i promised myself that i was going to finish a puzzle if it took all night. i'm glad it's a good one!
GOT A 32, 36 & 2 27'S
nite again
171 words for 2159
BabbleStats By word length: 4 .... 137 5 .... 131 6 ..... 90 7 ..... 39 8 ..... 20 9 ...... 6 10 ..... 1 ========== total: 424 ========== By start letter: A .... 35 C .... 49 D .... 56 E .... 23 i .... 13 M .... 59 N .... 17 O .... 6 R .... 49 S .... 64 T .... 28 W .... 25 Well i was hoping for a nice big babble to play today ... but this is overwhelming! Oh what the hell! I shall metamorphose into Shortseer and give it a go (even though i suspect i'll need to stay up for the full 24 hours and beg for lots of clues to get anywhere near finishing it!)
424 words?!? I might actually break 2000 points with this game...anything is possible. 20 8's and 39 7's...I think my head is spinning.....
Why isn't mainstreet a word? LOL
yer kidding about those 4 hundred and some words ???
i'm starting with the letter c ... 9 done and only 49 to go LOL i've played games where the sum total of all words hasn't been much more than 49 !
Has anyone used the K within any words?
not yet
Ohmigosh!! I got a nine, all by myself!! I love this puzzle!!
And yet, I have no 8's...but several 7's...
No, take it back. I have an 8. Everything is OK,...move along people, nothing to see here...
I think 'manseed' should be an accepted word...
Ohmigosh!!! I broke 2000 points!!! If I could, I would marry this puzzle. :)
mulhermujer ... i'm worried about what you might do if you find the 10 ;)
A happy dance a la 'Perfect Strangers'...
heh i'll look forward to it
I keep wanting to make 'docent, trek, and treks.'
i keep wanting to make 424 ;)
ditto
OK, I'm done for the night. A most rewarding effort. 164 for 2199. Twelve 7's, one 8 and one 9. Back for more later. Nites.
BTW, does anyone know what the total possible points are for this puzzle?
Heh. I just mistyped and got a completely unexpected 7.
i wouldn't be surprised if it was 6,000+ (just a guess)
Poop - it wont allow *intertrade*....
It wouildn't take mainstreet either.
and why isn't retred a word??? morning all..
184 - 2263 and I have not yet begun to fite:)
where am i going to find 200 more words before this puzzle ends? my eyes are crossing!
Has anyone got the 10 yet?
take an i 5 andadd a prefix and a suffix
I have a 9I but not the 10
thats a 9i
hmm, I only have 2 8's
treble, use a different i 5/10 it goes i-5, i-8, i-6 then add the prefix
onyx. Thanks, I had typed it before, but must have typed it wrong. This time it worked :)
is that k used at all?
onyx, so far everyone is asking the same question. This means nobody used the K....as of yet :)
I have i56889 and i5 and 6 but i still cant get the 10
same here Treble99
treble we are all buried in words today....
think burial for root of the 10
ooohh Onyx. GMTA :)
gmta? i hope that was good
Onyz. hahaha. That comes from chat. It means Great Minds Think Alike. Used when two people say the same thing at the same time.
I just found a lovely d 8/9 combo related to the church
gahhh - I've worked that out, its what to add to it ... :P I'm sure its staring me in the face!
Ohhh got it - weird word!
which word are you referring to Atalante?
its' amazing. I have 227 words and only have half the puzzle :(
"At 09:56 am Tolinya said... and why isn't retred a word???" I think 'cause its 'retread.'
Question - the d 8/9 combo related to the church: is the word related to the actual edifice of a church, or related to the religion?
not a church buidling.
sorry - the 10 ...
the 10 letter word begins with a C and has something to do with graves or tomb.
hi, marigold
I have 9 letter words starting with a,d and i. What do the other 9 letter words start with?
Wow, this puzzle is overwhelming.
there are two I's 1 m, 1 n that are 9 letter words
I can't believe this puzzle. There are so many words.
I keep seeing 'dossier.'
Wish you had not said that!
Sorry, my bad ;)P
Are you sure that there is a 9im
Besides the i 6/7/8/8/9 combo, I cannot see any other i words. Any suggestions?
You could drop one letter of the 6 and start a whole new combo-range.
think burials...what they do with bodies.
I have no Im9. Two In9's though.
Most excellent suggestion - Thank You Testing123 :)
I must be missing one I only have 6889
Is there an 'im' 9?
can you give a clue please
A clue? You mean a clue for any of the words that I have found?
No for the im.
Don't think there is an Im9.
I do not not have the supposed 'im' 9 word. Testing123 said that they had no 'im' 9 in post 3:22. That's why I was asking if one exists.
You dont have to I will look for it later.
Cool - Thanks testing 123. Just wanted to make sure. :)
Is it just me, or was this conversation confusing???
Where did someone say there was one? Cannot find any hint in that direction. 2x i, 1m, 1n, 1a, 1d are mentioned (2.04 and 1.58). No Im.
Dont worry about it
The confusion could be between 1m and Im... ;-)
would someone please list their 8's with beginning letter and values? I have only 10
""At 02:04 pm marigold said... there are two I's 1 m, 1 n that are 9 letter words" This post indicates that there is at least one 'im9,' but when I first read it, I did not understand that. But now that I have reread (hopefully correctly), I see that there is in fact an ‘im9.’
Except that now, I have two words, 9 ltrs long that begin with 'in.'
I thought we were talking about four 9 letter words beginning with I, I, M, and N. Now I'll stop looking.
I read it differently... ;) ""marigold said... there are two I's 1 m, 1 n that are 9 letter words" = 2 x i, 1 x m, 1 x n. Along with the A and D makes that 6. Got 'm all! ;P
Oh, and I have 13 I's, and none with IM.
I dont have any im words
testing123 - could you list your 9's? With begining letters and point values, all six individually?
So then, what does this post really mean? At 02:04 pm marigold said... "there are two I's 1 m, 1 n that are 9 letter words" Will it ever end???
My 8"s are: C/50 C/55 D/55 I/45 I/45 I/40 I/40 M/55 M/50 T/45
A9/54 D9/72 I9/54 (in) I9/54 (in) M9/66 N9/54 Is this okay?
Eights: there's another I 45, plus an A 40.
Yes, Thank You so much. I am so sorry if I caused anyone any confusion, least of all myself.
A9 ? C10 buried together D9 ? I9 those who add extra things; interpolators I9 those who add a bit of material in a garment N9 small round pieces of meat M9 guides a vehicle badly
A9: plural of a liqueur based on an A5 D9: relating to a parish district
A9 liquors D9 some kind of bishops
thanks, Krys10
Better shut up - Krys10 gives much better clues.
Thanks shortseer - i've missed your clues for the long ones this week.
So there's an N 8-40 relating to the N9.
There is a second M8-50.
Well in my yesterday, the first letter i started working on was the C And now it's my tomorrow and after a sleep and another go at the C's i'm STILL missing 2 C's !!! What am i missing? 5x CE4 9x CO4 6x CE5 9x CO5 3x CE6 7x CO6 4x CO7 3x CO8 1x C10 ====== 47 out of 49
Jeez!! Took me forever to figure out the parish district word. I had the base, but it was the ending that took me a while. But I got an 8 and a 9 out of it. *pat herself on back*
I broke 3000 points!! Now I really will have to do the Happy Dance!! But after I do my chores. Later!!
congrats mulhermujer !
Anyone having good fortune with the O's? I've only got one: an OD4.
That's the same (and only) O I've got. And Thanks shortseer :)
There is a nice common ON4.
Od4 2x Od5 Od6 Os4 is all I have. :(
I will only give this clue A SINGLE TIME, as it contains all 6 O word clues ;) Shortseer sits in a SMALL BUILDING of ancient Greece and Rome used for public performances of music and poetry. Outside she sees a WILLOW TREE Inside she listens as first one then several WRITER(S) OF POETRY recite their POETRY.
Migosh. this is brilliant! *lol*
hmmm ... i should point out that for Babble you require the plural form of that building shortseer is in. (sometimes we poets forget the rules of grammar when we get inspired)
I think I just tried all the ways to get an OS4 and came up with nothing. Can someone confirm that it's really there?
there's an OS5 no OS4
argh! thanks.
My fault. Sorry, it is indeed an Os5. *testing disappering into a very deep hole in the ground*
dont worry testing .. we all do it ... and every clue is appreciated
Yeah no biggie. I found my O's and now I'm back to obsessing about the C8's.
shortseer, I have CO6x8.
thanks fnurt i couldn't quite face going through ALL the c's again. Much easier to focus the search. Hopefully someone else will come up with where the other missing one is hiding too.
How do you guys do this? My first time here and played for hours now...and only 278 of the 424 words. Do you play all day long?
Actually it's CO6x9, so there you go.
I CANNOT believe that it won't accept 'cossette'!!! Such a great word.
My I's are 8-45 8-40 9-54 8-40 9-54 8-45, so I guess I am missing another 8-45 somewhere? Can anyone help with that?
you should have two i8-45s before the 9 and one after.
muhlermujer, drop the E at the end and see what happens
actually the TE at the end
Ya, I did that and got that c6/8 combo. Thanks.
you are welcome
@ fnurt Thanks for the C info @testing If you've already got 278 on your first game, you are doing very well. But this game must be one of the biggest ones we've had. Some people play all day, others stick to a time limit. I generally only play at the weekend when i can keep coming back to the game over the full 24 hour period.
Thanks, shortseer. I was feeling quite stupid, actually. Glad to hear this game is really big.
i've taken to reading the dictionary, i guess your never too old to learn something new.
found those last C's fnurt i'd missed the "comfy" words i feel much more warm and comfortable now! ;)
Has anyone found more 8's? This is my list now: A 40 C 55 50 55 D 55 I (i) 45 40 45 40 45 M 55 50 50 55 N 40 T 45

Just found an R8 *takes a swig* *gags on nasty greek grog*
hey. i like the greek grog but i only have 7 in mine, how did you get it to 8? ouzo is good too, it's flavor is heavy in this grid
An R8? I found an R7.. Thanks for the clues today, BTW.. I like clues based on meanings of the words (rather than point values) because I learn more.
oh ... i take it back it's only R7 (i was obviously befuddled by the potent drink) :(
i like writing clues .. i learn more that way too! don't think i'll have time today though don't think i'm going to finish in time *frantically looks at the clock* *panics*
got nearly 100 words to go, i'll never make it. this is the best i've ever done shortserr thanks for the lists
detress -- getting a haircut getting punchy b/c it's late here & since I haven't been on much today, there's *no way* I'll get to 424 . . . or even 224 at this rate! ;-) 198/2904
Ok, I'm cutting bait at 297/4767. Thanks for all the help today, I'll be back Monday (and tonight to check out all the words I missed!)
243 for 3471. The absolute best I have done with any puzzle. Thanks to all who gave clues. :) Tchau.
