12:22 am

No fair, it wouldn't take furbies!

12:24 am

8 for 70 (again, thanks to moll f.)

2:42 am

I saw I missed a huge one yesterday. Over 400 words! And now... can't wait till someone would be so sweet to post the stats. Don't think there will be half as many words in this grid.

2:50 am

I can`t take the credit for yesterdays efforts as my brothers took over .

2:51 am

The moll fanders clue eludes me...

2:56 am

Found an 8/70 though... :-)

3:07 am

Christine G'morning on Karen's list for yesterday she had the word COINTERRED 1o letters but what does it means. There is no definition in the dictionary.

3:08 am

I believe it is something like having been buried together.

3:50 am

i didn't have time to finish yesterday's grid *sob* i had more words to enter!!!

3:54 am

BabbleStats By word length: 4 .... 87 5 .... 71 6 .... 42 7 ..... 7 8 ..... 2 9 ..... 2 10 .... 1 ========= total 212 ========= By start letter: B .... 30 E .... 7 F .... 35 H .... 21 i .... 1 L .... 10 M .... 12 N .... 7 O .... 6 R .... 33 S .... 28 T .... 5 U .... 1 W .... 16

3:57 am

Thanks for the stats, shortseer!

4:32 am

212 words .... well thats a bit more manageable *grins*

8:27 am

i only got like 50 words yesterday...damn real life gets involved again!

8:32 am

It won't take my astrological sign...RATS

8:37 am

sprite is right. Hey that rhymes. Co-interred means exactly to be buried together

8:43 am

allright off to play EQ...have a good day all.

9:19 am

Am I really the only one babbling today? Can't find the big ones yet, 173/2307 so far.

9:33 am

8 for 55 starts with R and builds on a F5 for 16

9:40 am

Ha Marigold. I have both 8's, but cannot find the 9's and the 10. Do you have more success today?

9:41 am

i have not found the 9 or the 10 yet. I am still looking

9:42 am

do you know what the 9 or the 10 start with/

New Jersey is here, anyone still playing the game?

9:47 am

It will not take woefull

9:50 am

Try without the last L

9:53 am

No, not yet. Must be B, F, H, L, M, N, O or W, because I have the rest.

9:53 am

Thanks.... Ifaerie got it

9:56 am

sorry, sprite, that the moll flanders clue was obscure. she was, for a time, a w------. really need to read the book, have only seen the movie. but that was excellent.

10:02 am

sprite....Got the 9 for 90 it starts with a w builds off the w for 6

10:03 am

:) That's the fun of puzzles, right? Learning new things. I looked the name up in google and read some about the book. Also discovered that the W5/6 and the W8 I found indeed were related to your clue!

10:05 am

Great, Marigold! I have 3 W6's, a Wh and 2 Wo's. Could you tell me which one to use, please?

10:09 am

Never mind, found it already! Thanks for the hint, that helped. Got all the W's now too.

10:52 am

hey vamp. I'm from noo joisey too. Where are you located?

12:08 pm

Aaarrghh! No progress at all - I need only a few more words per letter and I must have entered about a billion unvalid words now!

12:52 pm

Anyone having luck with 7's? I have just an O-36 and R-40 so far.

12:57 pm

7's: 3x F40 H40 O36 R40 R36

12:58 pm

Thanks sprite! I think my brain shuts down on weekends. I enjoy the game more during the week when there is more give and take with hints!

1:00 pm

I sympatise completely! Felt lonely today ;(

1:00 pm

Do you have the 10 yet? Or the 2nd 9?

1:02 pm

You'll be the first to know if I do ;)

1:08 pm

Do not have the 2nd 9 or 10 yet. Does anyone know what letter they start with?

1:08 pm

Why isn't ferro a word? It should be. *lol*

1:09 pm

No, I still don't. Narrowed it down to either: B, F, H, L, M, O, R or S... Can you eliminate any more letters?

1:18 pm

I do not think it is a B, R or S

1:24 pm

fnurt, could you please give me a clue to that O36? Even now I know it's there, I cannot seem to find it.

1:26 pm

Must be something funny in me: found it. As soon as I post the question, the answer comes along... sorry to have bothered you!

1:27 pm

Marigold, it's no O either.

1:30 pm

I am missing 1 N. I have 3xNE4, 1xNE5 and 2xNO4. what am I missing?

1:32 pm

That's ok. No problem

1:32 pm

I am still looking

1:34 pm

You need an Ne6

1:34 pm

Are there any hints for the 2nd 9 and 10 letter words.

1:46 pm

The 10 is an F.

1:48 pm

A strange word, has to do with carbon molecule structures. It's a 9/10 combo and it builds on a f 4/7 - 6/27.

1:49 pm

thanks sprite got the last Ne

1:49 pm

Ehm... the 2nd 9 is also an F then. :-)

1:57 pm

I have a F/6/27. Could this be part of the 9 letter word?

2:03 pm

Could be. There are 3 F6/27's. You need the Fu6 with two the same consonants in the middle.

2:05 pm

OH, WOW I got it. Thanks sprite. What a funny word. Yes it is very strange.

2:06 pm

I got it by noodling with letters adding to the F/6/27.

2:07 pm

Has someone found all the L's? I have: Li4 - 5 - 6 2x Lu4 3x Lu5 What am I missing?

2:33 pm

You are missing a Lo 4/5 combo. How many points for the 2nd 9?

2:33 pm

Thanks! The F9 is 72 points.

2:37 pm

Found the L's! Thanks again. Now I need 17 more words... anyone who wants to compare B's, H's, R's or S's?

2:55 pm

You are ahead of me but I will do my best. Be4x5 Be5x3 Be6x1 Bi4x1 Bi5x1 Br4x1 Br5x2 Br6x1 Bu4x3 Bu5x3 Bu6x1 Hi4x3 Ho4x4 Ho5x2 Hu4x3 Hu5x3 Hu6x1 Re4x2 Re5x4 Re6x6 Re7x1 Re8x1 Ro4x2 Ro5x2 Ru4x3 Ru5x2 Se4x3 Se5x2 Sl4x5 Sl5x2 Sn5x1 Sn6x1 So4x2 So5x2 So6x1 St5x1 Wish I could be more help...

3:01 pm

Something you guys might enjoy :-) http://www.fullcirc.com/weblog/2004/07/national-puzzlers-league-plays-giant.htm

3:04 pm

I am really glad with your help, fnurt. You have a Be6 and a Hi4 that I miss. These are my totals that differ from yours: Bu4 x56 Bu5 x6 Bu6 x2 Ho4 x5 Hu5 x4 Hu6 x3 I'll look for the missing ones and then come back for the R's and S's!

3:18 pm

Okay fnurt, you had help there for me again: I must look for another 2 Re6's, a Sl4 and a So6. On my list are another: Re4 (total 3) Ro5 (total 3) Ro6 Ru6 Ru7 Se4 (total 4) Se5 (total 4) So4 (total 3) Good hunting!

3:22 pm

Thanks very much for all the tips!!

3:26 pm

And I have 3 So5's now.

3:31 pm

My rule for this puzzle has been, when I think I have exhausted every reasonable combo, try something involving the B. So far it has worked well.

3:34 pm

I hope that works for the 2 Re6's as well! *lol*

3:36 pm

All Pinocchio-readers know that renose is SO a word!

3:42 pm

I think noseful should be a word although I hesitate to use it in a sentence.

3:43 pm

ROFLOL

3:44 pm

The carbon structure F 9/10 -- for a while it was a hot item in the science world and they were called 'Bucky balls' after Richard Buckminster ;-)

3:45 pm

Down to 202 now. Ten more... but I think I will not finish this one. I couldn't think of more words to try if I could save my life with it...

3:46 pm

"buckyballs" would have been easier to find! :)

3:48 pm

Can anyone help on the Fs? I have Fe4x3 Fe5x2 Fe6x1 Fe7x1 Fl4x3 Fl5x1 Fr4x2 Fr5x4 Fr6x1 Fu4x3 Fu5x1 Fu6x2 Fu9x1 Fu10x1

3:49 pm

2 more Fe6 1 more Fe7...

3:52 pm

And another Fu4 and Fu5, plus 2 more Fu6's.

3:56 pm

Wow, some of these words I'm missing are just depressing, I'd be nowhere without your help. Thanks again!

3:57 pm

I forgot: another Fr5 as well.

3:59 pm

I need one more B and one more H and they are driving me CRAZY! Also 5 more R's and 3 more S's. Anybody who could give a clue, please?

4:15 pm

I can't help with much, but do have all the H words: hi4 hi4 hi4 ho4 ho5 ho4 ho7 ho4 ho5 ho4 ho4 hu4 hu4 hu6 hu5 hu6 hu5 hu4 hu6 hu5 hu5

4:20 pm

Thanks, jlm_mi, found the missing Hu4 thanks to you.

4:24 pm

Oops... Bu4 x56 should be Bu4 x6.

4:30 pm

Sprite - I think I have one more RE6 than you. I have RE6x7.

4:34 pm

Great! I have these for Re's: 4 6 6 27 6 27 5 16 6 27 7 40 8 55 6 18 4 4 5 10 6 18 5 10 6 18 5 10 4 4 Where does the 7th Re6 fit in, if you can find out?

4:36 pm

Sorry, found it. Who'd have thought that would be an acceptable word!

4:37 pm

jlm_mi, how are you doing with the B's? I don't have the illusion I can finish this grid, but I would love to find that missing B that I have been chasing for hours!

4:39 pm

I'm also missing one B, and I think I have the same ones you and fnurt posted below. I'm very behind on some of the other letters, but only have a few more minutes, so also no hopes of finishing here.

4:40 pm

Found it! It's a BU6. I have BU6x3. :-D

4:42 pm

RIght you are... I'll go to bed and leave it at 205 words 4.93 3123 Quite a fun grid, much harder than I thought when I started! Thanks for the help and good luck with the rest. Sleep well...

4:42 pm

Yes! I stay up a little longer...

4:46 pm

jlm_mi, you did it! Now I can sleep...

7:09 pm

ewenme -- are you babbling?? ;-)

7:24 pm

fixit: Yes, what else would I be doing, other than sewing? ;^) Did you see we are neck and neck in the rankings? Got your email[s] thank you. Now to find a 10 letter word...don't know what it starts with. grrrr.
