That is cruel. "indentor" just isn't there!

The R/8/45 is not a common word. It is a scientific unit of measure that appeared in a puzzle a few weeks ago, though. You will not likely stumble across it unless you have a fairly strong scientific background. The second letter is O.

That's all the N's, then. Would someond mind posting clues for longish words based on meanings? I'm noodling based on point value and it isn't as much fun as hunting for new vocabulary :)

8-55 P - the adjective form of a long banner borne upon a lance 8-45 R - an obscure scientific unit of measure 8-40 R - more foul 7-36 C - dictionary definition would be more unsophisticated and trite. I guess that's not exactly the meaning I'd give it, but don't know how to put my finger on a better one. Maybe someone else can help. 7-40 P - cleaned feathers 7-40 R - became mature 7-32 R - alternate spelling of 8-45 R 7-32 T - describes wood joined in a particular fashion 7-28 T - the person who would do the previously mentioned joining

there are two PYx4s--one is an odd medical word that has shown up here before (but not in a while, I believe.)

Plus a Co5 (makes 5) and you have all the C's complete.

Sprite - Have you ever heard of a funeral p***? Its usually done as a ritual when someone of great stature dies, like a great warrior.

There is another Py word, mulher, and it's pretty strange. Does have a (bizarre) definition ,though.

Daisy, there is a resource I use called a2zwordfinder.com for when I'm really stuck. I don't know if people would consider it cheating because you still have to find the words yourself, but you can type in beginnings or endings or parts of words and it will list the words that contain it, which is a big help sometimes.
