Only the rerose was missing, thanks to you I found the rest in time, shortseer! Thanks a lot. It WAS a nasty grid. Hope this one is better.

12:10 am

In the immortal words of Crow the Bot - "It STINKS."

151 words for today... I expect someone else will have the stats shortly.

12:17 am

Can't even make 'jeep.'

12:17 am

Yes, someone has the stats ;) BabbleStats By word length: 4 .... 72 4 .... 42 6 .... 28 7 ..... 6 8 ..... 3 ========= total 151 ========= By start letter: C .... 16 D .... 14 E .... 9 G .... 7 i .... 7 J .... 7 N .... 14 O .... 3 P .... 33 R .... 19 T .... 19 Y .... 3 Shortseer is all Babbled out for another week. *shudder* She has turned back into goforit who isn't nearly as compulsive and is quite happy just to try to complete a starting letter or two on paper.

12:30 am

that 2nd 4 should of course be a 5 42x 5's

1:44 am

enron, anyone?

1:53 am

what a lovely example :) i think i'll go to sleep too. 'night.

2:02 am

When you are all so wise, how can I stay behind? I'll do a bit on paper and stop then.

4:50 am

1 8 x 55

8:05 am

Yipee is so a word! :o)

8:20 am

Only with an extra P... and I would be so gratefull for an A!

8:28 am

Any luck on the bigger words yet? I have 1x8 and 4x7, only 20 words to go and no idea what the others might be.

8:33 am

Make that 2x8, found an 8/40.

8:34 am

I've got the eights: P8 for 55, R8 for 45 and R8 for 40. I've only got two 7s though. *sigh*

8:35 am

For 7's I have a C36, R40, T32 and T28.

9:10 am

Milly, is the R8/45 a common word?

9:14 am

There is a 7/P/40.

9:18 am

Thanks, jlm_mi. One more 7 and we have all 6x7 accounted for.

9:26 am

That is cruel. "indentor" just isn't there!

9:34 am

The R/8/45 is not a common word. It is a scientific unit of measure that appeared in a puzzle a few weeks ago, though. You will not likely stumble across it unless you have a fairly strong scientific background. The second letter is O.

9:38 am

Thanks for the hints for the 7s - gives me something to work on!

9:45 am

Thanks for the help, jlm_mi. I haven't found the 8 yet, but your clue led me to the last 7, which is an R32!

9:48 am

Great, found it! Thanks a lot.

10:05 am

Good morning, Benjake West! I know you're playing because I tried to put in the very first word and you'd beaten me to it!

10:09 am

yup, started as soon as you told me who we were today! Man, I really do sound scitzophrenic.

10:20 am

Your shrink should send you 2 bills... that would cure you both! ;)

10:23 am

Still looking for that P7/40. Could someone please give me a clue?

10:23 am

testing123 - birdbath

10:31 am

I keep wanting to make 'pigeon'!

10:36 am

West coast girl is way behind this morning - and I truly thought pidgeon was how it was spelled :(

10:42 am

me too!

10:44 am

I am definitely NOT into birds. :( Most likely it is a quite common word too.

10:47 am

I just realized: I have the word! It's HOW a bird cleans itself, not WHERE it does it! (hope that didn't give too much away...)

10:48 am

Testing123 people do it too - but with a mirror not a birdbath....

10:48 am

That made me find it, thanks!

10:51 am

testing123, :-) (benjake east)

11:00 am

I can only find 2 O's. I have an On5/16 and an Or6/27. What am I missing?

11:01 am

You are missing an OR5.

11:03 am

Of course! I must have been blind. Thanks a lot, jlm_mi!

11:09 am

Entered 'predetor' twice before realising I should learn to spell better.

11:13 am

I keep wanting generic. Spelled right, but just not there! And nevermind the fact that I have all the 7 letter words already. :) I'm missing an i word, anyone know what it is? I have ic4 ir4 ir4 ir5 ir6 ir6

11:14 am

You need an In4.

11:14 am

I mean in4.

11:16 am

Perfect, thanks.

11:34 am

I'm missing one D; can anyone help? de4x5 de6x2 di4x2 di5x2 dr4x2

11:40 am

there's one more DR4; an old word for putting up with something

11:41 am

You are missing a DR4.

11:44 am

Hi parsec, I had that Dr4, and the one that can be so irritating, but not a third.

11:44 am

So thanks!

11:44 am

Thanks! Now why didn't I see that before! I swear I tried every combination twice! lol

11:46 am

testing123--then perhaps one for the bottom of your coffee?

11:48 am

Yes, I found it! This game is fun. My second time and doing better than the first. That grid had more than 400 words. This one is a little easier to handle, I need 11 more words now!

12:04 pm

Anyone want to talk Ns? There are so many, I keep forgetting where I've noodled. I have: NE4x4, NI6x1, NO4x2, No5x2

12:05 pm

I have 3 NO4 and 1 Ni4

12:14 pm

I have NE4x6, NE6x1

12:15 pm

That's all the N's, then. Would someond mind posting clues for longish words based on meanings? I'm noodling based on point value and it isn't as much fun as hunting for new vocabulary :)

12:21 pm

8-55 P - the adjective form of a long banner borne upon a lance 8-45 R - an obscure scientific unit of measure 8-40 R - more foul 7-36 C - dictionary definition would be more unsophisticated and trite. I guess that's not exactly the meaning I'd give it, but don't know how to put my finger on a better one. Maybe someone else can help. 7-40 P - cleaned feathers 7-40 R - became mature 7-32 R - alternate spelling of 8-45 R 7-32 T - describes wood joined in a particular fashion 7-28 T - the person who would do the previously mentioned joining

12:23 pm

How about C words? I have: Ci4 CO4x4, CO5x4, CO6x3, CO7 CR5

12:29 pm

jlm, thank you! i was missing the T7's because I had the medical definition for the related T5, instead of the joinery one.

12:32 pm

You're welcome. And how about Ps? PE4x4, PE5x3, PE6x4, PE8 Pi4x4, Pi5x4 PR5x4, PR7 PY4

12:33 pm

you are missing at least a py6

12:33 pm

I found two more Co4 (total of 6)

12:34 pm

and 1 Pi4

12:36 pm

i just never tried that NEx6. It doesn't seem to me that it should be a word. thanks for the clues!

12:40 pm

there are two PYx4s--one is an odd medical word that has shown up here before (but not in a while, I believe.)

12:44 pm

Plus a Co5 (makes 5) and you have all the C's complete.

12:49 pm

I have 16 C words and still only CO5x4. Are you sure you weren't counting the CR5 in there?

12:50 pm

I have another Pi4 and I have a Pr4.

12:52 pm

You are right, jlm_mi, I counted the last Cr5 as a Co. Sorry.

12:53 pm

testing123 - I also think I have found all the 4 letter words. Is that Pi4 you have in addition to the 4 I have listed, or in addition to the 5 including stevedallas'?

12:53 pm

It appears I'm now missing only 3 6-letter P words. :-D

12:54 pm

Total 5 x Pi4.

12:56 pm

You are all so very fast! I need 2 more P's, 4 R's AND 2 T's - not finished at all.

1:03 pm

I have two Yi4.. anyone know what I'm missing?

1:04 pm

Looks like a Ye6. I am getting killed on the G's and J's here!

1:06 pm

G's and J's me too: GE4x3, GE5 JE4x3, JO6 missing three each :(

1:08 pm

I have a Je6 and a Ji4

1:11 pm

Je4 x 3 Je6 Ji4 Ji6 Jo6

1:11 pm

All G's are Ge: G4 x3 G5 x4

1:23 pm

Help, I have no O words. May I have clues please.

1:23 pm

I have these R's so far, 4 missing: Re4 x3 Re5 Ri4 x2 Ri5 x2 Ri6 Ri7 Ro6 x2 Ro7 Ro8 x2

1:24 pm

On 5/16 Or 5/14 Or 6/27

1:26 pm

You're missing an RO4 and an RO5

1:26 pm

And these are my T's, 2 missing in action: Te4 x3 Te5 x2 Te7 x2 To4 x4 To5 x5 To6

1:27 pm

The Os are 5/16 5/14 6/27. Rs: you are missing 2xRE6, RO4 and RO5. I have completed the puzzle. Final counts for P: PE4x4, PE5x3, PE6x5, PE8 Pi4x5, Pi5x4, Pi6x2 PR4, PR5x4, PR7 PY4x2, PY6 151 words/2071 points

1:28 pm

You are missing 2xTO4 for a total of 6.

1:36 pm

This is really fun! Thanks for the counts, now I know what I am looking for and that helps a lot. :-)

I really do think that enjin is a perfectly good alternate spelling

2:02 pm

Wasn't there something about a piedpiper? Did some on paper today, but couldn't stop... so I guess it makes no difference in addiction to me. ;))

didnt we use to call folks idgets when we were kids

2:09 pm

D#rn, 'piny' isn't in this grid at all! So I haven't all the words... now all I have to do is to find out which P I am still missing! :-( Glad there are lists already.

my e's are 4454445; so what am I missing

2:14 pm

455444545 are the e's!

2:16 pm

Is that first Py4 REALLY a word?? Only found it by noodling, after reading the post about it. Can't be a word. ;)

3:30 pm

Sprite - Have you ever heard of a funeral p***? Its usually done as a ritual when someone of great stature dies, like a great warrior.

3:32 pm

There is another Py word, mulher, and it's pretty strange. Does have a (bizarre) definition ,though.

3:34 pm

Ahhh crap. I thought the funeral one was the only one...I'll take my humble pie heated please...:)

4:11 pm

I aint no scientist. I don't even know science. I can't even spell science. But somewhere, way in the back of this noggin I remembered the r/8/45 word. Ya jest never know

It was in another puzzle; I remembered it too. :)

4:22 pm

do you guys all use some fancy dictionary to find all these bizarre words or what? What's your secret?

Daisy, there is a resource I use called a2zwordfinder.com for when I'm really stuck. I don't know if people would consider it cheating because you still have to find the words yourself, but you can type in beginnings or endings or parts of words and it will list the words that contain it, which is a big help sometimes.

4:41 pm

are both Py words 4 letters?

4:42 pm

jlm put the P stats up at 1:27. there are two py4 and one py6.

4:43 pm

nevermind, I found the 2nd P4.

4:51 pm

A clearer definition for the r/8/45 would be: Name of the person who discovered X-rays.

4:58 pm

great! Thanks for that!:-)

5:20 pm

*thwack* was missing the same E words as a few days ago - have I learned nothing?!
