Have to start sooner. I really like cluing... I guess I am weird, but everyone already knows that!
Gonna get started [Buried head in Grid, fist holding her pen...And... She's off!]
I love giving clues but not at the flip. Bowing out for now with 7 words found.

yeah, babble is good distraction :)
hiya. how y'all doing?
hiya jai! *hug* On and off the toilet, I think I got the bug my husband had. But otherwise good. How about you?
name that proper noun: egyptian deity
he has a canine head
ware
hi crystalle, nope, that is not it
nobody? It is Anubis.
ibis ?
Me? ok. Hurting, but what's new... Sorry about yr bug..... I am enduring quite the opposite, thanx to pain meds...groan. Now that we have finished our An** report "(SICK HUMOR, PARDON THE PUN), how are we doing with grid?
lol no its not. I did try anubis early on. figured noun or not was worth a try
Wasn't anubis yesterday?
lol crystalle, yes, enable is fickle enough to make it worth trying, whatever it is :)
lol jai :) Sorry about you hurting so much. Apart from the pain, it also eats up so much of one's energy, doesn't it.
close, ursh :)
Anyone need a clue? The only place I seem to have any clue at all is here...LOL.
Yup. And brain power. I cant think as well.
I am good, thanks, too many still needed to ask for a clue.
If you have seen the Vin Diesel movie "Babylon A.D.", then you will have the au word.. The heroine in this movie has this name.
The Au 8 builds on it.
You probably al;ready have it.
I have a 6 and a 7. Looking for a way to make it an 8
Morning
got it. Yay, thanks jai
morning Katie *hug* How are you today?
Hi all! *Hugs* for Sprite! Hope you get feeling better soon!
*hugs Kam* Sure will, it is just a bug. How are you and your beloved today?
Good thanks sprite, are you not feeling well?
Hiya, good morning! It is 3:05 AM here, and it has poured for hours. We really dont need this rain- our river is pretty high...
just a bit of a bug, Katie, nothing major, thanks
It's still too hot...cooled off enough tonight to open the windows and front door, yay! He's off to take care of Dad tomorrow, will be gone a week. Boo hoo, but yay for Dad time
1/3 found, the rest will have to wait for tomorrow, good night all
sleep well, dear flosey *hug*
G'Night, Flosey. sleep well
sleeping time, jai...
It has only rained here once in 5 weeks and that was only a tiny bit, we could actually do with some
I am saying big prayer, and doing the imodium happy dance for sprite... And if anyone has asny dynamite, I could use it. I am rather plugged up from pain meds...
Naw, no sleep Nite is young!
Night flosey
you will miss him, Kam, but I hope you will also enjoy your alone-time
same here, Katie. Send some over, jai, we will gladly take it.
Jai - magnesium citrate helps
thanks you, jai. *unplugs jai's bowels*
Yes, I'll miss him, but I'll have his cat's undivided attention, lol! Little pester-butt! And all the chores, ugh. He helps out A LOT!
lol, cats are the best.
I really love my dog, but cats are great. I've had far more cats than dogs - easier to have several cats around than 2 dogs!
I know I have been away for a few years and are just getting back in to this but I am really not feeling the grid today #only18wordssofar
I love dogs too. Am an animal lover in general. Have had cats for years, love their grace and attitude. Now we have Terra and he is an adorable dog.
We did have our 24-25-yr-old cat cross the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. He had lost over half of his body mass, poor old guy. He was losing his mind - but he still knew to use the litter box. Felt bad, but he was having trouble breathing. We've been talking about helping him over for at least a year.
it is great to have you back, Katie. This grid is not an easy one, no worries, it is not you. Not many series, which may affect your speed. As it does mine!
awwwww Kam *hugssssss* You will miss him a lot. But how wonderful that he lived that long and had such a great home with you.
Right on cue my eldest cat has come for a cuddle with drooling and paw holding included
aw so sweet, coming to comfort you
or just to mess up your babbling, lol, knowing cats
She is 13 but only learnt to purr 2 years ago and now is a fuss monster
I have 5 cats - my eldest is 17 and refuses to come inside - only eats, drinks and straight back outside. It is winter here and he sleeps under a car. I have put a cat bed out for him but he sleeps right alongside it. He is very thin and getting quite stiff in his movements - really dont know what more to do :(
The two we have left march over keyboards often. One almost managed to post something I was writing a couple of days ago, lol!
nothing more you can do, ursh... sounds like he has a mind of his own.
so sweet, Katie :)
My other cat regularly cuts off calls by rolling on the keyboard, she in banned from the office when I am in phone meetings for work
my cat used to lie down on my keyboard whenever I was writing or playing. Very insistently too, lol.
Ursh, that's cat behavior. The guy we had to help over the Bridge was starting to sleep in the litter box a couple of weeks ago. Hard decisions. I was hoping he'd cross on his own, but no. This cat was a survivor from day 1. Hubby's daughter brought him home when she was 7 or 8. She didn't want him when she "grew up" so he stayed with her dad. She's 31 now.
So there's this guy... And he flies into Babbleland in his AE==plane. But he muffed his landing, and he set the plane AF ===! Now, this AF=== mentioned guy saunters up to us, and asks if anyone knows the cost of AI===== from Babbleland to Scotland. Seems he has a few AI== coins in his pocket and he hopes to spend them there. But we wouldn't want to get too AN=== him, as he smells of gasoline. He also seems to have a habit of pulling his pants bottoms out from his AN==; quite disgusting! In fact, the whole AR== of Babbleland wants to run away from this guy! He starts a fight with someone, and suddenly, Babbleland has become an AR=== for a fight! But true to her nature, Jai steps up, and starts to sing an off-key AR==, which makes everyone laugh. (She does AS==== to be a singer. But we all are getting headaches from her music, and are passing AS===== around behind her back!) So then, the smelly guy pulls some AU=== coins from his pocket, and says he wants to go to Rome instead... But we just told him to shove it in his AU===! He was so offended, he left in a huge huff, and his leaving caused an AU==== in the sky! And then more AU===== came! We felt positively AU======!!! But as you are AW===, this is the end of all the A's, so I must close. Enjoy!
Haha, Ursh, I just posted a pic of our youngest parked on hub's keyboard. Wish we could post pix here.
yessssss she is back! Awesome, jai!
Tx Kam - but our cats are allowed in and out as they please - Ginger just prefers to be outside cold or wet doesnt matter to him
I have to say only 1 of the 5 cats is mine - the others all belonged to family members who could no longer keep them - cat hotel here :):)
fireflies. Not an easy grid for me, but fun! Thanks for the company, ladies. *hugs* to you all. May you have a blessed day and a peaceful night. *leaves hug in chog for rose to find*
Hope you feel better soon sprite x
thanks :)
Ursh, we have a dog/cat door, so they come and go as they please. But I found what seems to be bear scat in the yard yesterday. We're in the Sierra foothills, but only about 500ft. Bears shouldn't be down here! However, so many fires have driven wildlife places where they don't usually go.
Grats, Sprite! Feel better!
Fireworks! >>>>>%%%%%&&&&&)))))>>>>>! Nite, all!
Congrats jai
TY! Have a good rest of your days, people! See you in an hour after I try to sleep, and fail. LOL!
hi and bye, then, jai, and thanks for the A story, which I've just finished and got all my A's from, hee hee
I am glad! Have a good day, Rbud!
and hi to everyone else still around. :)
Hi rbud
phantom word: wafarin ( blood thinner)
Damn you autocorrect *rbud
Seriously it told me it had posted Bruce!
and for some reason, I keep thinking that I am seeing a Leprechaun in the puzzle!
I hate predictive text...
haha, Bruce - I guess I can see how it would maybe predict that... but it's a stretch...
Could just call me "bud", some do, though I'm never sure if it's a typo or on purpose
it's really short for "rosebud" from long years past. before I was even on the internet, I had license plates that said "RBUD 1" but got tired of explaining them. Many wild interpretations popped up over the couple of years I had those.
I just use Kate for coffees, restaurant bookings and taxis as it is much easier than correcting and explaining my’real’ name
my favorite theory was from an obviously stoned longhair giggling and pointing at my van - when we got out of it, he asked if we grew "it", as he assumed we were saying "our bud's #1"
then there were the Budweiser variations...
I better be off to start my day, take care all x
have a good one! :)
this is, as previously noted, not such a fun one. having struggled to 100, with both "nb's", I think I'll wander off. Laters! :)
Okay first run through and I have exaclty 90 words found. Will come back later today to see if I can find any more words. Happy babbling everyone!

did u finish the grid, jai ???
Guess what? I took my dentures out in my sleep. The dog then stole them and ate them....True.
Grid is done and conquered. It's a wrap.
omg! The dog ate them? Swallowed and everything?
So I am really not smiling this morning.
No, chewed them to bits.
I just noticed, you and I are the same age!
She graciuosly left me the pieces for my approval.
You are 35, too???
You are 35, too???
The message would not load...sorry.
Yes! 35 for the 26th time!
Right. Absolutely. And I am a cougar to boot,
Well I'm sorry about your teeth :( Will you be able to get them replaced quickly???
I dunno. Made an appointment with a dentist for Wed. Luckily, I have not claimed my lifetime dentures from SS.

The oral chemo l'm taking (Xeloda) has a side effect in which your feet crack apart. The onky thing that helps is morhine and l've alrady taken 30 mg today

Sundays are the worst!
I hear you. I am on Hydromorph and pain is really bad today. Why are Sundays bad?
l have a waxy crem for the fissures and a soothing crepme for the rest. This is all very hard -- forgive me for being such a wyhiner!
No. Do NOT apologize. It's okay. You should be able to tell us how it is. I hate it when people are faking that they are "okay".
Sunday is the only day with nobody coming. The big event will be my sisteers phone call in the afternoon.
I love this "joke": Do you know what "fine" means? (As in, I'm fine!) F***ed up, Insecure, Neurotic, and Emotional.

I am sorry. Would you like me to call you?
No, but thank you. The morph is "kicking in" LOL, so l'll probably just sleep the rest of the day.
If nott for the dogs, l'd never get out f bed
No. I do not feel "abused". And I mean it when I say I will call. Truly- I can call myou on Messenger.
That sounds familiar. My hubby helps me almost too much- but my pain is truly horrific, and I cannot wal today. I feel like I am in labor!
My baby dog, Raffie (64 lbs of stinky, beautiul, lovely dog.
So- no worries. We do not mind. And telling facts is not whining. I am impressed that you are doing the puzzle despite everything.

Cute. They have an indulgent Mommy. :)
Sometimes she comes in at exactly 3PM, talk about "Watch dogs!)
My name and such are on FB- if you want me to call you, message me there- K? Oh! Funny! Watch dogs! Watch out for "ticks"!
You think? They changed a lot when my husband died and are much more attentive and close to me now. l guess he diluted some of their affection<<<<<;
When did he die? And you have cancer, no?
l'mnot adept at computer stuff but the morph has kicked in!
Good! Enjoy!
He was 18 yrs older and died two & 1/2 yeears ago of Alzheimer's. l'm glad he's not around to see me like this.$
Oh, dear... See you w/ the C, you mean?
My cancer from 1988came back after 25 years. lt's Lucky that l was strong, healthy and atthletic when it started or l'd surely be deadL.

Lil Monkey, are you there? Did I make everyone mad at me????

All the vowels grey...Time to start my day...bzz...
hello...middle i stats pls
ib4/6 is one of them
ty Haz
I'm only just started so will sing out if I find the other.
not too far along myself :)
It's not a grid of rapid progress so far.
I have just started too not gotten very far
It's a one word at a time grid - no keyboards will go up in flames today.
seems like it so far
So, I was in NYC the other day... I took a cab, and after the driver told me what the FA== was going to be, he told me a joke: What do you call an Egyptian ruler who likes Cream of Wheat? Why, the FA==== FA==!!! Haha. (I know, FA== is a gambling game, but I like the pun...) So, are we all FI== today? Are you FI=== than I? I'll bet you wish I said, "FI=== with the Puns, Jai!" Okay, I will FI====. In a minute. Did you read my "A" story? The pilot in my story set his plane on FI==. Now, here's a fun fact I did not know: FI== is packed snow that is on its way to being a glacier! Do people with a Cockney accent really say "FO==" instead of FI==??? And those dressed up, fancy Brit guys? Regular FO== they are! Another fun fact: If you have a hole in your head, you might use FO== as a prefix for your new hole! How did you get that hole in your head? I got mine because I did not duck when the golfer said, "FO==!" If I was FR== Scotland, I might say the word "from" this way- it's an old way of saying that word. But one would think that the next word was related to that one... but no! FR==== are folds of skin. I should know; I have a lot of them on my old body. FR=== means nearly the same, as in the one under your tongue. By this point, you might be wondering if you are still my FR===. You are. I love you all! Do you have a dog? Is it a Bichon FR===? Last winter, my garden hose froze and became a "FR===" Truly! And it did FR=== (OE past tense here) Perhaps not as funny, but hopefully helpful!

Yes, very loudly! Poor kid is being pulled out of his home into a cold OR.
Clue for second part of the ai7 compound word, please? I am not seeing it.
what you pay to fly
... price of a ticket
what you pay to ride transit
Oh, duh. I wasn't going down that way.
Phantom = sunrise.
I love the fa6 word...don't know why...
hi everyong
the actual item, or just the word?
Just the word.
hello jen
I love any words with a q in them. always have.
I am looking for fa6 now.
The porridge word?
yes
the fa6 word always brings a smile to my face - reminds me of the singing duo, richard and mimi (she was joan baez' sister)
I like saying the words serendipity and synchronicity, and I love when they occur.
I used the word serendipitous the other day. Found a magazine about caregiving.
Scrabs, is there a resource I can use to find a good doctor?
Ask other people, Bea. Choose an internist associated with a teaching hospital, a good hospital.
Thanks. I am looking for a internal med dr that specializes in gerintology for my mom.
Oh, yes, then find a geriatrician.
25 left...time to unpack some more boxes...bzz...
Although internists take care of many elderly folks as lifespans are increasing.
hello
Hi Owl.
My brain is about done with this grid.
hi, owl
hi scrabble
hi welk!
do you remember his book, 'been down so long it looks like up to me?'
Hello, good morning/afternoon to y'ajj.
hello, jaianniah
Hi, wel
scrab I have been feeling the same way about it too
1050 here and the sun is peeking out. A nice surprise because ra4 is expected all day.
luv in7 clue pls?
scrab we are expecting different percentages of rain for the next few days
it was eerie to see that hurrcane/noreaster cloud pattern yesterday
We have much ra4 on the way this next 1-2 weeks.
where was that owl?
here
Another phantom = dubious
we had a huge storm pass through yesterday - black clouds, lightning, thunder, torrential rain. typical for july - and we're getting more and more tornado watches as the summer progresses
i need to set up a festival thusday. it's forecasted to be the rainiest day.
Yikes, welki.
welk ugghh
is that usual - tonados- for you?
in7 clue pls?
back east, you always have days to prepare for a hurricane. here, sometimes only minutes for a tornado - i vote for hurricanes
88 left and I am done. Maybe I will return tonight. Enjoy the day.
it's getting to be the regular summer weather pattern - alberta has always had them, but we're getting more of them
bye, scrabs
i typed in "inane" / now i feel better.
but those kinds of storms are so unpredictible
is your land flat?
lol owl
i want "ashbin" and "irish"
you mean alberta? there are mountains, forests, rolling farmland, populated urban areas, and flat prairies - the tornados are more common on the prairies, but have been increasing in the cities and farmlands
i would be terrfied.
heh - the only thing alberta is missing is an ocean.
aw, you miss it.
off to make breakfast - later, folks
bye
l'm falling asleep and have one hour before dinner prep
one hour before dinner = naptime!
Afternoon everyone

enjoy your evening -- off to put a late supper together. We golfed in a "Christmas in July" tournament this am - winding up with a turkey dinner, so not too hungry!
Hi folks
hi origami
Waiting for it to cool down enough to take the beasties out. And listening to the Neil Young 1971 BBC concert.
what animal do you have?
Two dogs. They need their walk/exercise. But too hot still.
I see
Well, I have a cat also. But she takes care of her exercise herself :D
95 in sac when I went through it
Cooled down a bit. Welcome home!
my dogs are ecstatic I'm home. I got the best welcome
I was just writing to bugs to thank her for everything.
I bet they are. Did you board them or have someone stay at your house?
no.. I had petsitters stay here.. 24/7
it's safer and better for me.. and my dogs are safe
I'm looking at finding a good boarding place for my dogs - I'm going away for a week in August and again in October. My son's friend was living here, so I never had to worry. He'll be gone then.
just arrived to finish and now off to check the mail. We had great fun but sore backs, origami.
I heard there was "icing" involved. Hope ya'll mend up son :D
*soon* rather
the best is TAPPEN HILL ori
just sent you an email bugs
I will check it out. Darn dogs cost us a fortune, eh?
absolutely
tappen hill is the safest and the best.. and your dogs will have a blast
I wouldn't put my dogs anywhere else
Glad you had a good time Bugsy!
Glad you had a good time Bugsy!
Strange double-posting - sorry.
my back is killing me though
I see they have a pool - which my GSHP would love! My coonhound looks at water and dips her toes in. Maybe, if it is really hot :D
they have a indoor run and outdoor run.. they're exercised every hour on the hour.. pool time.. play time.. if meds are necessary.. they're given correctly.
It's really a great place.. I can't leave Dylan anywhere now due to his special condition.. but I have left my other dogs there and it's tremendous and super safe.
Pricey - but peace of mind is worth a lot. Thanks. I'll probably contact them.
So - why do you both have sore backs??
if it is an extended stay ori.. it's worth it.
also.. you have to bring the dogs to be evaluated first to get them temperament tested by Annie the owner.
If you two don't tell me the cause of your sore backs, I'll just make something up in my mind :D
po6,24 please - read earlier chat on po + verb or being + laughter exclamation but need another clue.
I am back... we went on an open boat ride to search for whales and hit some choppy seas. The captain went at speed so there was a lot of air time, then slamming down over each wave. We could have given him the sign to slow down but we were all holding on for dear life instead. It was memorable but I am achy today.
the whale tour was on rough seas.. and my back couldn't take it
I'm kind of in agony today
Ouch.
ha! fireworks
I don't think sitting on a plane helped you much either
no.. It really didn't.. neither did TSA in Seattle
Congrats clg
Uh oh, ru. Were you aggressively frisked?
LOL.. in my dreams :D
Off to reading land. See ya'll.
