Oh no, the ringing banner is back!
Got a 7 for 48, a compound word.
rfh, what is the link to the solver you use that uses the enable dictionary? lately i've been off a word or two using the wordracer one..
or what's it called, so i can google it
Couple of four letter anagrams in here...so far...
The one I use is called 'boggle/tangleword solver', but it doesn't give a count, just the words, so I copy all the words into MS Word and then get a count from that. A little more work to find the count without seeing any of the words, but the stats are usually accurate.
For Onyx: your name was almost in yesterday's puzzle, would have been the only word that could have used the X. But almost... not quite your day! ;-)
LOL i was thinking the same thing, sprite. No time to play though, yesterday...
I'm stuck (and done for the night) at 33 words for 320. My largest is a 7, but I have no 6's. Later all.
Ow, there is a lovely 7 in here!
using the sometimes-missing-a-word-or-two solver, i found this puzzle should have 81 words, no eights, 4 sevens.
Hi Krys10, that's nice to know! Thanks.
And another 7, for 48.
g7 -- nice word to start the game off . . . and yes, that's a clue! ;-)
:-D
Always thought 'bidon' was originally an english word - appears not! :-(
I keep wanting to make 'tidbits' ;-P
me too - and "swarm"
'addits' -- accountants ;-)
Mr. Smee is here!
Ooh, one of my favourite X-Men characters makes a g-6/7.
Yes! Another 7, for 52.
And the 4rd. 3x 7/48, 1x 7/52.
baby asleep finally; momma's gonna do the same . . . may be back on my 'tomorrow' night all ;-) 35/347; 2x6; 1x7
I'm so bummed it won't take titsman. ;-)
BabbleStats 4 .... 50 5 .... 18 6 ..... 8 7 ..... 4 ========= total: 80 ========= A .... 10 B .... 7 D .... 11 E .... 1 G .... 17 i .... 3 L .... 2 M .... 10 N .... 2 O .... 1 S .... 7 T .... 4 W .... 5 Hopefully i haven't made any typos today after yesterday's e/c mixup!
goforit, thanks! I always LOVE those stats!
wont take odd tits either...
oho! a 7-letter word for the aussies *starts singing waltzing matilda* Once a jolly S7 ...
I am really stuck on the b's! Found 5xBi and 2x Br and I truly believe I have tried every other possibility.
3x Bi4 1x Bi5 1x Br4 1x Br5 1x B7
Okay, never mind my previous (very stupid) post. There ARE only 7 b's. And 11 d's. Some confusion in my head...
not to worry, sprite after all, i didn't figure out that you'd listed them all ;)
:-D Thanks for making me feel a trifle little foolish...
... make that a trifle little LESS foolish... Jee, I am really all mixed up today!
Finally found all the 6's and 7's A6 ... external boundaries; circuits B7 ... the B7 of Alcatraz D6 ... harm G6 ... of or belonging to the fish family which includes the cods and the hakes G6 ... a country in Africa (don't know why it's not excluded as a proper noun) G6/G7 ... resinous astringent(s) extract obtained from the leaves of a woody vine G6/G7 ... maneuver(s), stratagem(s), or ploy(s) G7 ... of, relating to, or characteristic of certain bony fishes, such as the sturgeon and the gar M6 ... sorcerer (variant spelling) S7 ... once a jolly S7 camped by a billabong
What a great listing, shortseer! I wondered the same thing about that G6 country.
dictionary.com has a listing for it with a small "g", but my "real" hard copy dictionary (which generally knows more words than dictionary.com) doesn't acknowledge it
G7 ... of, relating to, or characteristic of certain bony fishes, such as the sturgeon and the gar Shouldn't that be G6???
Not even my Webster does mention it with a 'g'. Only as a republic and as a river. Well, we found it anyway and it counts! :)
Finished! That wasn't too bad ... i think the ratio of common to weird words was better than usual. Or perhaps the weird words don't seem so weird any more ;) 80 words / 4.58 / 1016
Good work! I have 63 words now, doing many things in between. But still lots of time left to finish in.
At 06:22 am Atalante said... G7 ... of, relating to, or characteristic of certain bony fishes, such as the sturgeon and the gar Shouldn't that be G6??? Yes it should. Sigh ... another typo! Oh for the ability to edit a message!!!
*lol* Wouldn't you want us to know that even the great babblers are still human?
Phew! For a moment I thought I was going mad. Part of my PhD was on gars, and could I think of a 7 letter word about them ....
Gosh that phD must be a great help with Babbling
Only when the anatomy and classification of fish is under discussion :P
I'm not gonna get that fish reference. I hate fish :) BTW, is there a place to go when you have a definition to then get a word?
I
Sorry 'bout that. I use google then. Just google on the most relevant words of the definition.
Isn't Smaug the dragon in the Hobbit?
It appears there's another one of those ringing "phone" banners in the rotation again. I have removed the new annoyance from the ad rotation. The change should take effect by 10:30 CT. Thanks to "bigbirdboss" for bringing it to my attention.
Thank you!!!! It was pretty annoying!
cant find the G6/7 resin
How many points is the cod/hake G6?
Cod - 27
Cod/hake is worth 27 points
A's are giving me a hard time (like always). I have: 5/12 4/5 4/5 4/5 4/5 5/18 6/30 4/7
There's a 4 for 7 between the 3rd and 4th of the other 4s
I've got 2 As to find - including fnurt's last 4 for 7, and an M ...
there's also a 5 for 14 before the 5 for 18
Thanks Claws!!! Now 1 M to find ... I have - MA4 x 7 MA6 x 1 ME4 x 1
ma 5 for 20
Woohoo! Just got it - and what a cool word to end on! Well, really, not "cool" at all LOL
I bet Mt St Helens thinks it's cool. Or not!
LOLLOL
any clues on the E? I'm also missing one i: I have 4/8 5/18
The E is an old-fashioned exclamation.
Thanks! Got it immediately from that clue! :-)
The last i-word is a 5/14.
Okay, I give up. I have three D's left to find, and I feel like I've tried all the options. Where am I going wrong? Here's what I have: da6 da4 da5 di4x3 do4 dr4
you're missing a da 4 and 2 da 5's
SCRATCH that ! that should read di 4 and 2 di 5''s
Thanks, claws and Running. it's nice to know where to look!
You are missing a Di4, and two of your Di4 have Di5 plural counterparts.
Is one of your Di4's really a Di5?
No, you're not missing any DAs. I have: da6 da4 da5 di4 di4 di5 di4 di5 di4 do4 dr4
never mind, I'm unmixed.
man, that last i is driving me nuts. Last word to find, too. Is it a normal word at all? Am I staring right at it? Or is it another bizarre one?
For S's, I have 4 S4, S5, S7. How many letters is my last one?
another S4
can anyone tell me which i to start from?? (i5/14)
Start from the I on the far right. If you added an E to the end of the word, the resulting 6 letter word would not be too uncommon, but you don't hear it in this form often.
any help on the A for 6?
It means an external boundary and is a plural of an A5. Oh, and it's very similar to one of the G6/7 combos (in form, not meaning).
tks jlm had the a5 and just didnt think to pluralize it duh!!
Thanks...whew! Finally got it. Your clue definitely helped, jlm, though at the time it seemed terribly unhelpful :-) 80/4.58/1016
Could someone please list the iS for me, I only have one i4
two i5s...one worth 14, one worth 18.
Oo, one of the anagrams I found last night consists of three words, not two...cool beans
all my G's are ga's except for 2 gu's. Still missing 2. Can anyone tell me if they are Ga or gu or gsomething else?
never mind gotem all!! Finished!!!
I'm still missing an A, two Ws, and both the Ns. Any hints would be appreciated. As: ag4x5, ag5x1, am5x2, am6x1 Ws: wa4x2, wo4x1
you're missing an AW4, an WR4, an WR5. Both Ns are four letters and they have different second letters. Both appeared in puzzles sometime in the last few weeks, which is the only reason I thought to try them!
Thank you Krys! I found them. 80/4.58/1016
Do any of you Babblers play other word games? If so what do you play?
I play Bog, do cryptic crosswords, mensa puzzles, and the puzzle sheets that are run up for charity, the initials type thingy. ( eg - there are 7 DITW)
Can anyone give me websites of other online word games they play?
well I'm mussing 6 words....all g's
