sitting he4 with my sides hurting from laughing too much.DH and i have been going through our 'junk' room. church is having a garage sale to fund raise for overseas aid. he was asking about a vibrating chair infill we have, and i played the dummy. you see, last birthday, knowing how i love purple things, he gave me a purple dildo. so when he said about putting the vibrator into the sale, i said, i think the vicar might object. but i could sneak it onto the table. poor man... he nearly laughed himself into an asthma attack.

lollll haha kate. yeah. i am doing an hour of exercises in the heated pool on Mondays and an hour in the gym on Thursdays. my hips have improved a lot.

i have been building up kate. one exercise i have a noodle under my foot, and i flex and straighten my knee, 3 time 30 reps each leg of that one. another, i hold the rail, squat and then follow through to heel-raisers. 2 times 30 reps of those.

well, yesterday i went and started getting lunch ready, for the first time since forever. he was pleased when i offered to make his sandwich for him.my mindset has changed. i think it is the exercises.

i think the penny has finally dropped kate. it's been a loooong time.
exercising is scary when you are handicapped and are always in pain. But if you build up carefully, exercises can do a lot of good. Rose is my he4.
but the warm water pool is good to work out in, and the gym is supervised by a physio who is fully au fait with my physical probs.
the exercise often does help... and the anticipation of pain makes you shy away from it.. ow you know it's helping, that's such a great thing! If he finally gets it, that's wonderful... you were having such a time, and always tearing your hair out. Last I was here, spritey and I were ganging up on you over ordering up a char whether himself liked it or not...
she still has to do that, Kate, sigh. Headstrong woman that she is.

really. Just like with the exercises, she thinks only of the downsides and does not realise the enormous relief it will be once she finally gets that help.

i have kate. not a lot of weight loss, but my shape is changing. thighs are definitely thinner(not matchsticks yet), and the lower part of my very round tummy is starting to pull in.
best way to judge is how your clothes fit... fat weighs less than muscle :)
honey, you have lost weight. Or rather, lost fat. Fat tissue weighs less than muscle tissue. When you firm up, you gain muscles, which are heavier, so even when you stay the same weight, you are still losing fat.

Hi there, zooz. Storm is gaining strength nearing the Florida coast now. It has gone from a 200 mile wide to 400 mile wide. High winds and rain is predicted for this afternoon until Thursday morning.
Vet brought dog food and milk for me this afternoon. Losing power and trees down will be the problem. I have a land line phone (my cell died a few months ago and I haven't replaced it.) I will contact another friend and see if she can get one for me today. If she is able to go out by then.

Ruby, I am 2 1/2 hours from the Atlantic coast but this one is coming from the Gulf...it will come ashore on the Florida panhandle and come on up to Georgia, south and north Carolina and take a right out to the

Hi, Zoom. had a filling today and my face has only just 'thawed' out. My husband has been diagnosed with mouth cancer and I am now worrying how we are going to cope. Derby and Joan propping each other up.

I am a carer but not a paid one, Bugsaw so as far as I am aware there is nothing for me. Apart from that my parents would not let anyone other tha my sister and me in the house. They are so so so stubborn.
it is the unpaid carers who need the support!!! Please try to reach out for some help in finding a group of people who are in your position. Just spending time supporting each other is so important

Also, stubborn parents can be overruled. I worked as a home support worker for years and once I got my foot in the door, all was well. They saw I was not there to judge. I was just a new friend.
You just might have to be firm about it but there are ways of being firm with kindness. I am sure you are an expert in that after all these years. Here''s to you getting some help for your whole family without it having to cost money.
It can help if someone else in your position swapped roles with you for an hour or two. You are still caring for others but a change is as good as a rest and stubborn people tend to act out less for someone new.
True. But seriously my dad does not like people full stop. He will tell you where to go in a heart beat and does it often. It can be rather embarassing.
We called the ambulance out last month as he was getting severe chest pains and when we called the abulance people in he told the to FO and don,t come back. We did manage to get him out to the ambulance the next day but we had to take him outside.
I had it happen. It didn't hurt me because I did not know the person and it was just a behaviour they used to keep people away. Don't own your father's behaviour. There is no need to apologize.
People lash out when they are afraid. I am sure he was afraid when he had pain. Please call the ambulance whenever you need it. They have this happen a lot.
I agree with what you say but then you get the non stop talk about not respecting his wishes and it goes on for hours and hours. wears you down lol
I always advise people to use the power you have. You have the power to walk away from him when he gets nagging. Earphones playing calming music and playing Babble or reading a book works well. You are taking their power away when they see you are not responding so they stop. Eventually, he will come round and let go of that tactic.
You can also point out that he is not respecting your wishes either, that is why you are retreating.
I did that once I actually left their home walked around the block for a while then about twenty minutes later came back. He did not care in the slightest. Miserable ole git LOL
I think he is scared and he puts on a big man act. saying he can nt wait to snuff it and all that but I know he is scared really. But there is mother to consider and sister too. Just drove through the weather. It is typical autumn weather here - hovering between 70 and 80F with nice cool nights.

This is prime fire season around here. We have 4/100 of an inch of rain this month :-( But, our rainy season (if you want to call it that) hasn't really started.

Sometimes fractures are not seen for 7-10 days. X-rays done after that time will show healing.
yes. i went from great bones no fracture to demineralized bones with possible fracture. feels much better this week
These girls were at the SPCA since June 20. In a 3 x 3 foot glass cage in the cat area. They were overstimulated yet ignored.

The bunnies are sisters and have been together since being surrendered at the SPCA on June 20. They needed foster care for the first few weeks as they were little. They are 4 lbs now and were spayed 2 wks ago.

caution - those with weak stomachs - scroll past this post!! my achilles tendon needed to be detached and cleaned up (and some of it removed because of a tear and scar tissue). then a sizable heel spur was removed and the tendon reattached.

That's pretty major - no wonder you're in pain welki! Is that the sort of thing they put you in a short term acst for for initial healing? Guessing physio is in your future...poor poor welki :(

no weight bearing at all for at least 2 weeks. then when stitches come out on oct 26, into an air-cast boot and maybe some weight bearing (but not counting on it) for another 6 weeks - then physio - then who knows

i didn't play at all this past season, couldn't walk far without pain. i'd had this for more than 10 years and kept postponing the inevitable. and yay me - i get to have the surgery on my other foot when this one heals
the happy pills have little effect - i need happier pills :)

OUCH, welki! Use your pain meds readily. The next 2 days will be the worst then you will improve.
my kids offered to come help, but i think i want to try to manage on my own (with husband's help - and he is being sooooooo wonderful and patient with his whiny patient)
Good luck getting "happiet" pills welki.. certainly not beyond a couple weeks... the Rx you have.. is it enough to let you sleep?
don't know about sleeping, but i doubt it. pain is pretty intense. it'll abate in a few days. i don't expect to sleep well until it does
Don't be a tough guy though... pain is nasty to deal with, like scrabs said, the next days will be the worst.. but speak u if you need more than what they offer.
....and now, on to our regular programming (because this is way more welki-news than anyone should have to read)

funny you ask, kate - it's a hard cast and they put an ice pack under it at the hospital, but of course, the cold doesn't pass through it
