I don't know what the heck I've done but one of the girls thinks I may have pulled it a bit funny. I was just coming down my stairs in the house yesterday and started to get a funny tinge underneath my foot next to the meaty part under your big toe and now the pad under my 2 toes next to my big toe is giving me hell! :( shower time in just over half an hour, feet up at the mo!

there's snow in the higher elevations about an hour from here; we've had mild weather this week. the recovery is, as expected, slow. 10 days in and i'm past stir crazy.

appointment coming up on friday for stitch removal and re-casting (unless he decides to put me in a boot, but i'll still be non weight bearing for (at least) another month)
Keep yourself busy and distracted.
i almost prefer another cast - they're easier to sleep in (and i know i'd need the boot 24/7)
I took off my boot for sleep but then experienced pain because the bone was not protected.
The days will be long but then all of a sudden it is weeks later and you will note healing.

hi peri - in a nutshell, i had my achilles tendon detached (scraped of calcifcation, a part removed because of scar tissue and a tear), a heel spur grinded down, everything reattached and here i am

and yes!! the sister bunnies!! were they ever anyone's companion animals, scrabs? or is it from square one with them?
My sister needs foot surgery--bunion and 2nd toe is deformed. But she dreads being inactive for 8+ weeks.
thanks peri - it's a nasty surgery (and i get to have it done on the other foot in about a year's time), but it was getting to the point where everything i did revolved around how far i could walk without severe pain
They were at the SPCA for 4 mo and were likely 6-8 wks old when surrendered there. So, I sit in their room and let them get near me. It will take time.

scrabbler - the turning point in my decision was when i was on the phone with one surgeon and she said, ' you decide. four months off work or a lifetime of pain that'll only get worse'
her opinion was confirmed by another surgeon, the one who did the procedure - he said his goal was to get me back in the water, flyfishing
That's what I have told my sister--get your foot fixed and then you won't have to tape your foot and toes to prevent pain and blisters.
i guess she can still live with the pain and discomfort, but she has to know she's not doing herself any favors by procrastinating. when it gets unbearable, she'll have the surgery

Lost power for 3 hours during the storm and the wind tore the top of my chimney off and the rain poured in. I'm dealing with the Insurance company now.....the chiminey is fixed though.....I had to pay for that.....I'm more than a little upset with insurance company. I'm just gripeing. Need to think how lucky I am that it wasn't worse.
