good morning all
Hi there, sprite.
et al
*hugs peach* I talked to zooz yesterday and he said to thank you for your concern, he appreciates it. He is okay, not great but plodding along.
Thanks, sprite. I'm sending vibes and prayers. I feel badly for what he is going through. I guess we all have our "bears to cross" and vice versa. LOL
*giggles* Nice one. Yeah, it is true, we do. In some way, each of us is fighting a tough battle.
Yep. The wonderfulness of it is that we have great people to talk with.
the babble community is a rare place, with an amazing amount of support and caring
True, that!
I just came back and finished up, so good morning, or evening, depending on your location!
*hugs Kam* Hello dear one, how are you today? How is the eye and the overall aches and pains?
Good morning, Kam.
Eye opened a bit, overall...well, I'm more sore. At least I'm a little more balanced with the eye starting to open, lol!
I need food.....brb.
cooee and {{{{sprite}}}}} {{{{{kam}}}}} {{{{peach}}}}}
easy does it, Kam, gentle movements throughout the day.
Well finallllllly there she is! LOL. *hugs rose* Was starting to think I lost your love ;) How've you been and how are you doing today?
Hubs helped get his jeans washed. That's all I did today.
plenty for one day, Kam, right now.
you can never lose my love sweetie... it is yours forever and ever... lolll have been very tired. appointment with doc john next wed. sleep has been decidedly interrupted feel like i moving through wet concrete.....
I know, sweetie, just kidding. I already thought you were very tired, said as much to zooz yesterday. *sending you energising vibes*
kam, prayers are with you my dear.
what have you and Rob been up to, sprite? and how are you feeling? flu on it's way out, i hope?
found a flightless bird
yes it is. Still coughing too much though. But less often. Rob is working and comes home pooped. I feel out of energy after getting groceries and cooking, so I am taking things a little easy still too. Signed the sell contract day before yesterday. Now the 3 days' legal time for the buyers to change their minds are running. Tuesday, the sale will be final on condition of financing.
lol, good one, jane
rose, is this the appointment you already had with dr John, or are you going in for your infusion wednesday? And if not infusion, when?
I'm back.
wb peach
not for infusion. stuff got out of hand last week... too tired. when i see him, i will book in for infusion. i really need to get the paper work into workcover for the procedure on my knee.
*crosses arms and stares at rose in a very stern-mum-way* You promised you'd set an appointment for the infusion, little lady.
i know i did, but other stuff got in the way, as life does. i just grit my teeth and swallow more endone. if i don't get the paperwork into workcover i may have to wait until next year for a response to have my knee nerve desensitised. and i don't want that...
call tomorrow for the infusion, honey. Not smart to wait another week. And yeah, I hear ya, that darn paperwork has to be done asap. Let Don help you. Paperwork is bad enough, and I know your head does the same thing as mine and goes on strike when confronted with it.
fireflies.
WTG SPRITE !!!! nice grid isn't it? or rather wasn't it?
Name
Sorry
lovely. The cooking R biggies were new to me, but after looking them up, I realise I have a couple of them in the cupboard, LOL
no worries, Pearl, and hi
np'spearl. we are finished.
lol... we spell them with a k instead of the qu
am gonna sit down and make a tough phonecall and write two tough emails. Will be better to get things out of the way.
yeah, I think the Q is another of enable's quirks.
when you can email about what you are having to do... meanwhile holding you close to my heart, honey
lol, will do that first :D Bye all, *hugs* for who wants them. Kam, I hope you will start feeling a little better soon.
xoxox dearest.
to you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night. And an extra hug for my bestie Rose
Sweet dreams, sprite. Yes, I would love a hug. Thank you.
Hello Babblers: Lickety's link to the wordlists (Enable?) has been hacked and Norton just blocked a nasty incoming from there.
Sad news out of California. When will we start addressing the sad state of mental health in our world?
what happened in calif please?
Gunman in a country western bar...13 dead.
He is too, btw.
hello friends! administering state testing for the next five days, so hoping for HUGE grids....please take note, dr god!
morning, trif
good morning welki - so sad about california, just checking on news now
good morning marvelous babblers
good morning bichon
horrible news yet again
hi bich
everything in the us seems determined by money, sadly - when people stop coming here, when people stop going out, when the money train dries up - THAT is when the powers that be will start addressing the violence
i wish i could do an i dream of jeannie move, snap my fingers, and get rid of personally owned semi-automatic weapons and explosives.
wouldn't take care of everything, for sure. like molly said, the mentally ill need to be taken care of
This time it was a handgun
how'd he get off that many shots?
No idea :-(
and yet our fool in charge continues to rant about foreigners and terrorists with brown skin - meanwhile, mass murderer after mass murderer is what? A white conservative.
maybe a semi-automatic pistol - some can shoot up to 16
bullets
and it sounds like he changed clips during the rampage
*big sigh* i need more than one fingersnap from jeannie
if he was sane enough to plan the attack out, go there, execute the attack, AND change clips, the "mentally ill" excuse doesn't hold much water with me
we had a bombing in edmonton a couple of days ago - lots of rumors, but little factual information being provided
i agree Trif
i hear you - torn between the anger and wonder (that if they are ill, and had been diagnosed, if these massacres would lessen)
in other news, I got yet another side gig, as the costume designer for a local high school theatre program. They are doing Mamma Mia, and the show opens next weekend - I am up to my eyeballs in fabulousness, and it seems they followed me to the grid! se6.27
i have so many jobs it's STOOPID but it is how I make ends meet, so there you go
Feather boas aplenty, Trif? :-)
funnily enough, we aren't really using many feathers! LOTS of sequins, satins, neoprene, hologram fabrics, and ohhhhh the ruffles!
thank GOD for local thrift stores! Found absolutely PLATFORMS for each of the lead ladies, seven inches high! Those poor girls having to dance in them, oy!
I just saw some black and white feather boas in my garage yesterday! Sorry you don't need them. :)
i can't sew for love or money - tried to make my kids dolls when they were little and they came out looking like mr. bill
lol champ, you have fun with them!!!!
mr bill was delightful!
How can you not have fun when you're wearing a boa? Now that I think of it, may need to pack them for my girls' trip this weekend. They'll love it!
im thinking mr champ, (or mrs champ, I don't judge....) might enjoy you wearing them - and ONLY them - as well!
Ooooh...now there's something to spice things up! Then I only need to keep a couple. We ARE empty nesters finally, after all! :)
GET IT GIRL!!!!!
HA!!!!!!!!! Was just thinking this morning, thank GOODNESS he's funny! The man can still make me laugh. How boring it would be otherwise!
I know, right? My beloved and I are fooooools, and it works for us, and we are so giggly and silly
:) Forever is a long time...might as well enjoy it!
hello...stats for the corner i pls
two ir4s, both having to do with anger
ty
no problem at all, phae - its rare when I can help, or give a worthwhile clue, so I am happy to do it
Wow...if you want to help, come help me pack up my house and my car for my temporary move. ;-)
funnily enough, I am GREAT at packing other people! Myself, no so much.
We are off this weekend, in fact, to go see my stepson's new house in vermont - which he does not plan to heat until the absolute dead of winter, so this should be interesting. Like indoor camping
Trifoso - human version of the Swiss Army Knife!
*Trifioso
Supposed to snow here, hoping not too much. Traveling through the UP on Saturday
I am so NOT a princess, but even I have my limits - one time we went to visit son in a house he was renting with six other guys. We were given a fold out couch to sleep on, whatever. it was not at all comfortable, but we went with it. The next morning, the guys asked how it was, and, trying to be good sports, we said fine, no problem, whatever.....to which they answered "Oh, that is good! We found it in a dumpster behind a diner, and no one has tried it yet."
Sometimes there just isn't enough soap. OR hot water.
I got one of those once, but it smelled like the dumpster and I made the guys take it back. lol
I will say that I took one look at the bathroom at that house, and chose to bathe in the river behind the house. It seemed less risky.
You're cracking me up, Trif
im a good time, for sure. lol
Know it all to well Trif
where in vermont, trif? one of my kids is in bennington
I have ra and re 8s. Does anyone know which I'm missing?
im serious about the river thing, though - between being seen naked by strangers and chancing that shower, I chose the neighbors. God help them, if a glance at my 50 year old fat ass was the highlight of their day
hello
hello TO! lovely to see you
pe 8/50
hi owl
Thanks welki!
why ty, trif! and hello welk!
fellow this is us watchers: Kevin's tv show is in the gird
oh, so it is! This is us was not on this week due to election coverage, yes?
trif - where in vermont?
it made me laugh. i tried it!
uhhhh not sure. londonderry maybe? New house, so have not been there et
not too far from my daughter in bennington - londonderry is an overflow town for the ski hill population
cute shops
hey trif, so is rebecca's husband!
and a couple of nice yarn stores
sorry, correction - west windsor - is that near?
lol you are right TO, there he is!
west windsor's about 2 hours away, i think
oh dear. from what i understand, he is in the middle of nowhere, but that's ok. it's his first house, and he is so proud of it, as he should be
how are you today, welk?
so i watch this is us and i can't find either of her husbands in the grid
she is not. kevin's show is.
i'm okay, owl - thanks
it's been a bit slow lately, though, don't you think?
I just googled the town, the population is 1099 people, so with our arrival we will put them over the 2k mark, wahoo!
we are bringing the idiot dog with us, this will either go just fine or be a disaster. There really is no middle ground
o.0
my daughter adopted her dog from a rescue in w. windsor
and yes, owl, the show has been plodding along
good grief - "in keeping with the town's rural character, 90% of the roads are unpaved"
oh my! do they gave wifi? cell?
cover your windshield with kevlar!
hello
HAHHAHAHHA
im thinking maybe we should rent a jeep or something for the weekend....
hi mlf
most rental places won't let you have dogs in the vehicles
hi welk
what they dont know.....
goodness- heavy rain tomorrow night and another coastal storm on tuesday. need an ark
oh dear to! that's no fun
and here, we need a shovel
third column a?
never mind
uh oh...
c stats?
and a shot of cold air. lovely. i think today is the day to go roaming, becuase the weekend looks like a washout.
5 cy's and 2 cu's
cy4/7 & plural
ty phae that turned the light bulb on in my brain for that letter
glad I could help :-)
it's a twisty grid.
I am not asking for a specific clue..is the 9 a compound word?
seinfeld fans: can you pot the classic trivial pursuit answer that sparked the bubble boy brawl?
NO but I can google it. So now I now ;)
*i can google that for you* LOL
omg you can google it? that's wild!
no...but it is a pl
break time
i loved that episode. only george.
YOu can also youtube that particular bit
ty
Hiyas, kiddos.
hello judi!
Now I really want crème brûlée
hi judi
m9f9l - if you can find it in a store near you, RUN do not walk to try Oui yogurt -- the little minis, especially the salted caramel flavor, it is HEAVEN
I'll have to try it, the ingredients look ok. I just finished off a tub of ZOI honey yogurt a few minutes ago. MMmmmm
clue for the 9 pls?
I think I missed what the 9 started with. Can someone replay that for me?
ra and its a pl
ra 8/9
Ty, MLF. Looking now.
me too
ra 8/9 lke welk said
it's RA9 in case you're still wondering
phooey - neither of those yogurts are available here
oui yogurt - the pineapple is like no other. i love it.
Isn't Oui the one in the glass jar?
owl I haven't tried that brand of yogurt yet..actually haven't ha d yogurt in quite a while
yes it is judi and its French
I've seen it. I'm sure it's probably good, but the glass jar thing is rather pretentious.
I love the ZOI plain yogurt with a little honey drizzled over it and some walnuts. THat is SO god.
did the oui tip you off on that mlf ? :D
*good
and if I am not mistaken they are not cheap?
I didn't know you could find god in the dairy section
wish it weren't so costly, but the glass is more recycleable than plastic, i like that.
no ruru it didnt
anyway, I have to go will be back..
it says it's "french style" it's made by General Mills.
reminds me, it;s on sale at shoprite this week.
The have some in plastic too. It's called "Non".
You can find God anywhere ;)
i wish they would go back to waxed paper cartons. they went back to them for milk.
as long as you're wishing for that, could you also ask for the old, bigger size cups of yogurt?
why yes. yes i can. 8 oz. *sigh*
all we can get here is those teeny cups
those are for models welki
yogurt is so light, it's certainly not a matter of calories. it's $$$
but then again, it's been bastardized like so many other things that achieve commercial success.
this portion control thing has gotten out of hand - instead of eating decent portions at mealtime (and waiting until the next meal to eat)
and yet in us, people are heavier than ever.
people eat tiny portions and expect the energy from them to last 6 hours. i get the small, frequent meal thing - but ....
as you know, owl, i'm no lightweight :D
aww... i am putting on weight to look healthier as i age. taht's my story and i'm sticking to it.
or maybe to fill out all the wrinkles and creases ;)
feh. i get too stressed out about diet - low carbs, watch the sugar, blah blah blah
it's really hard to drop weight when you're older.. the metabolism is just screwy
me too. it's to the point where i do not enjoy cooking and meal planning. so then i snack.
I'm thinking of hiring a personal trainer at the local gym. I need someone to motivate me to exercise and lose weight.
but i do wish i'd had developed better eating habits as a child
There's just too much temptation out there, Welki.
judi i think that is a great idea. i've thought of that as well.
i don't need a personal trainer, i need a locked-down program for a few months *lol*
hahahahahaha
*pictures herself wailing at the barred windows*
Fatty Boot Camp. That's what I need.
pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease - just one kitkat!
poeple PAY big $$$ for that. it's called spa retreat
Pffth. Spa my butt.
cut and pasted joke: I went to the doctor and he said "don't eat anything fatty." I asked " No bacon? No burgers?!" To which he replied "No fatty, just don't eat anything! "
they pay to be shamed into exercising and wating beautiful plates of organic veggies.
well, yes. exactly.
uh oh.*groan*
(waits to be shamed for posting that)
LOL, Welki! If only it were that easy.
you have offended nearly the entire of the USA you cheecky canadian.
but it did make me laugh when i read it - must have identified with it *LOL*
i've probably offended most of canada, too - go big or go home, welki!
i was jeggings shopping and i have gone up 2 sizes. not that i need to, just "for comfort" and "in case they shrink"
I think the problem is that women of a certain age don't wear corsets any more. Once you're all sucked in you don't feel so lumpy, apparently.
i'll try not to make fat jokes - overweight people have too much on their plate already :)
There's gotta be a 12-step program. "Hi. My name is Judi and I'm... sedentary."
My mother came through the 2nd world war, but apparently always put her corsets on during an air raid. She was in her teens at the time!
disclaimer: i'm a roly poly ol' lady
i am just getting back to the gm after my broken toe. it's difficult to begin again.
'Pleasantly plump, welki.
They still have corsets. Now they're just called Spanx.
oh owl, probably scared you'll injure it again! i'm not looking forward to physio when i can walk again
ok, haz - pleasantly plump - built for comfort, not speed
lol haz! i can remember a college classmate struggling into one. but then again, we all wore something along those lines. now it's time to be free. free to jiggle like a bowl of jello.
You probably use up calories getting those Spanx things on and off.
The absolute WORST is trying on clothes in a dressing room with a rear view mirror. Horror.
lol have you seen the video of a women doing just that?
I had one experience with Spanx. It ended up in the trash and I ended up sweaty and red in the face.
bathing suits. i got into one first time i 10 years to go to a water class.
I have a slip thing. I honestly thought I was going to have to be cut out of it. Pride does feel pain.
ROFL
hehehe - some of you know i like to flyfish. flyfishing sometimes involved wading in the water, wearing a pair of neoprene waders...
my husband thought it would be a good idea to see if his fit me - he was a skinny thing then. well, they were so tight, and i began to sweat which made it nearly impossible to get them off - i looked like a brown pillsbury doughboy
there i was, lying on my back with him pulling at the feet - there should have been video
*** giggling ****
neoprene is elastic - if they'd come off suddenly, he'd still be orbiting the earth
The struggle is real.
omg
hello again
What on earth would you have put on the insurance forms, welki?
there'd have been no need, haz. i'd have died of shame
(a) my husband is missing (b) it was the waders that did it.
Cause of death: neoprene suffocation.
What a mystery. One man missing and a dead wife with neoprene waders.
has anyone ever had to get a saleswoman to help them out of a garment?
NO! Have you?
not yet, owl
Oh, dear. Never had that experience, TO.
oh sorry you were talking about the oui yogurt not the 9
true French style
*waiting for owl's evacuation story*
Im excited now - fifteen minutes til lunch, and my darling little yogurt ,waiting for me!
headline: woman forcefully evacuated from body shaper. assistance from saleswoman futile. heavy extrication crew called in.
um, jus tasking.
I just had meatballs with noodles and gravy
it was a sports bra. it happened to a friend.
(Settling down for the story)
Suuuuuurrrre it did.
walmart is a bad place to look for assistance of any sort.
Sports bras can be a bitch to get off. I had a struggle with one. Threw out my back.
so i'v e heard,
anyway, it pales in comparison to death by neoprene.
A bit ironic that you get an injury from a sports bra that then stops you exercising.
thinking the same thing. perhaps the sport is in the garment - a new olympic venue
Yes. The irony was not lost on me. Easy to put on, nearly impossible to get off when you're sweaty.
I know. The more you sweat and struggle, the tighter the grip from the blessed garment.
Might as well just wear duct tape.
well at least you got that story off your chest
It was the breast workout ever!
it was a DDDelightful chat this morning
If I hire a personal trainer, does that mean I need a training bra?
if you want to rein the girls in, yes
They do tend to get in the way if they aren't trapped in spandex.
this certainly has been a titillating discussion
it is good to keep abreast of the lastest news in women's clothing
truly..i'm going to look back at this fondley
The lingerie read this the sillier it gets!
it like we are all in our cups
shall we bring this pun session to front or back closure?
clue for the 9 pls?
Of corset means changing the subject.
we just briefly had some phone internet and tv issues
I guess judi we should just all girdle our loins
I'm back...
hi bz
bzz
Time for a break. 54 left. BBL.
bye judi and all

This is bizarre... I have all black boxes and all the words, (nbt) but no Fireworks....I wish we could share pictures, so you can see. Weird.i did do a screenshot...
okay...clues coming...
that is bizarre but sometimes weird stuff happens.
pe 8 50... put together a pe+ consonant prefix, then add word me 5 " I me5 what I said"...
re 8 60, 9 78... rhymes with thing that models clothing in a department store...looks eerily human....
sorry it's re8 not re...
that pe: i have the pe and then the cons prefix i dont see......hmmm
re 8 55 to call again to court, officially
the prefix rhymes with what cats do...the sound that they make
so it is pe+ a consonant + that me5 word
got it now. ty. it is an 8. ty jaianniah
ty got the re 8 very quickly. ty
you are welcome!
is the re 9 same word just diff last letter?
I found this puzzle annoyingly difficult.... lots of words I have never seen before...
re 9 is not in lickety!!!!!!!!
nor is any other 9 unless i am going blind.
will look again later.
remans
darn darn darn. so sorry
There's an ra8/9 combo...
gee i will look again. ty.
found it. ty.
could use some clues please. ty.
I can clue what you need, but you need to tell me what would help..
meanings or ra + and then you give hints for the rest.
I clued that ra below. it rhymes with the object used in stores to model clothing... they are creepy....
a pun... a dummy used to model clothing for male sheep....lol...
huh? too weird for me i think.
ra + "doe, a deer... **, myself", plus the last syllable of se6/27.
and plural
got them from more words. ty
the real definition of ra8 is a cheese mixture that is put on bread...it has an alternate spelling that ends ....***ekin"....
TY for help...I guess my clue didn't work...sorry.
Or "a small dish in which food can be baked and served". (That's how I know it.)
I think the cheese is baked in it, so it also acquired the name.
Kind of like a "pot" roast.
