we are entering real autumn weather at last. It was a very good and long summer here. Even in november we still had days of being outdoors without a co4. But now it is very wet and pretty cold.

My new word for today is ul6. Of course, it is Middle English. I usually fall short on those.
Well, except for the part that's about rocketry. ;)

I will be back..
ty Sam
What a contrary grid today. Lots of phantom words
Nice, Trif. I just finished my second and it's part of the reason I'm having a good morning, so I hope some of that transfers to you :)
YW all
it is a comfort, samantha
It really is. There's something about hot tea that is different from other drinks.
We make a pot of tea every night in the colder months
and I sweat, this is true - tea out of a pretty, special cup tastes better than tea from a plain old cup. it just DOES
I've got 65 left for later, and I'll see you ask another time. Bye!
YOU ARE SO RIGHT TRIF IT DOES
swear, not sweat....sorry
thanks samantha, bye!
Bye for real now *poof*
im also watching the birds go mental feeding at a new feeder I hung up yesterday - six of them duking it out for prime real estate at the moment....I love connecting with nature in this small way
I watched and listened to a pileated woodpecker this morning. They are a hoot.
i see what you did there!
we had SIX pairs of mourning doves the other day - i swooned! (my life is so full....)
we have lots of great birds here, but i miss the east coast birds like mourning doves, cardinals, orioles ...
I had no idea how much they could chow down in a week
Love the mockingbirds we have and lots of blue birds.
in the 20 years I have been here, I saw blue birds once - it was so exciting.
the only other blue birds I see are blue jays
I have 60 left...Time to get busy...back later...
we have blue birds, surprised you don't see more, trif
I have never seen one here, but saw them at the Bronx Zoo
the blue jays and woodpeckers eat a ton of peanuts - all year long, but i love watching them in winter (i also put suet out for them and for the flickers and smaller birds)
flickers are my absolute FAVORITE -don't know why really....we used to have them here quite regularly, but haven't seen them recently
just looked it up and found that bluebirds are plentiful in both massachusetts and connecticut - i suppose there aren't many places for them to nest in your local areas - maybe if you put up some bluebird houses (you see them on fences all over the place here)
Think you need to live in a heavily wooded area.
the flickers are beautiful birds - i like nuthatches, too
i live in the woods....they just prefer other places I guess
bichon, i live in the prairies
help with te8 pls
good morning everyone :)
don't have it, peri
hi nan
we get finches, woodpeckers, nuthatches

Wouldn't call it pastry, but egg bread
she's talking about the te8 bichon

i never liked the Te 8..........too gooey for me.
and as to bread, the word is in the grid so you all go to the PB!!!!!!!!!!!
sounds like you were loafing around the house nan
anyone have any U words to clue to me? i only have ul 4 5.
I might have eaten it as a child, but too much sugare ffor me now
no sugar in it.........honey is in it.
stuffs egg bread in the PB... and some choclits
honey and sugare are the same thing for a diabetic
if anyone puts sugar in it then they arent baking the original thing. honey was the key.
ul6 leaking
it was for rosh hashanah and the chaggim after.
ty ruru. will try to think of the word.
what are the spices they use for it though
honey and honey and honey. that is why it is so sweet.
yes honey is not good for anyone diabetic.
I remember them being spicy
i guess bees arent diabetic.
not yet diabetic. trying to keep it that way.
a lot of bees are balding these days
I curb myself from sugar and carbs
many are doing comb-overs :D
i was diabetic 3 years ago and went on a no sugar or carbs diet and have been "cured" for 2.5 years now. we all have too much sugar and carbs in our lives.
aglae is every bit as much of a word as all the yiddish ones -- on behalf of scots everywhere, I protest!
As long as I stay away from the bad stuff and exercise, I will remain diabetes free
what's aglae?
i agree nan
it amazes me what is taken here and what is not.
the te8 should not be in the grid at all.
i am missing the A words for the A in second column. anyone have clues? ty. and stats.
the best laid plans of mice and men gang aft aglae (or agley) --- meaning off track

Back for my last 37. Went to the Texan game, which we won over Cleveland. The streak is now 9 in a row!
Oh wow! Fun times!
Very! It's nice to be in contention for a change. We'll see what happens.
We honored former President Bush, who lived here in Houston, and passed away here. The peeps who live in town are going to have some challenges this week, traffic wise.
I bet that was so moving, to be in the stadium during the salute to 41.
Yes. He was such a big supporter of all things sports here. He and his wife were at most Astros baseball games. And he'd also be out on our marathon course, at mile 20, to cheer on runners. What a kind an generous man!
CBS (I think, maybe NBC) showed an interview Jenna Bush conducted a while back, where she talked to her Dad and to her grandfather, who she called Gampy.
It was so sweet! Lots of love in that family.
The last time I saw him on the marathon course, he really didn't seem to be able to focus, but he was there nonetheless, trying to be supportive.
Aw that's awesome! I also saw the footage of his skydive on 90th birthday. I think he was in a wheelchair by then, but did the skydiving tradition anyway.
He said, Id rather be doing something exciting and not sitting in the corner drooling.
Yes, he kept showing up to events, and I truly wondered why? He looked uncomfortable. But he must've wanted to go. Glad he's at rest, and getting the recognition he deserves for his thoughtfulness and a job well done. I'm also saddened at the loss of his generation. My dad was of his age. Such a loss to us all when they're gone!
Yes Champ I agree. My dad has been gone almost 2 years :(
Mine 9. The great ones! We learned from the best.
Glad you had a good day! Congrats to TExans
Do you have the la6/24?
Beer but with an extra vowel.

I had a busy day. just getting started
ty liz :) happy channuka!
I am all full of grease.
Latkes last night and donuts today. Then some more later in the week. Try not to overdo it.
we overdo it the first night and then abstain the rest.
I need to show restraint later in the week at our community event. Otherwise that would be it with the latkes and donuts after today.
some of our community events have been cancelled - a much love long time gym teacher at our school dropped dead this weekend.
so everybody is a little down.
That's sad. I can understand that people would be reluctant to celebrate in that situation.
104 to go. enough for now. good night!
Have a good evenign
There is only one other Jeww in the village and no synagogue, even ij Annecy
Hi Ruby - lovely to see you.
l liss my mother's latkes, but the sour cream is much better here
Never eaten them with sour cream - seems weird to me but I've seen it in a lot of US recipes like that.
Happy chnaukah (sp?)
We make our own but they don't taste the way I remember my mother's tasting either. Mum's were better (and I don't often say that even though she was a great cook)
Happy chanukah to you too 🕎
Binghamton had 3 or 4 synagogues.bAnnecy which is much bigger has none.
3 mosques, though
But you live in such a beautiful area - that makes any lack of synagogue worthwhile!
Sorry I took a look at the chat. Latkes, oh my. Sour cream or applesauce or just crispy out of the pan. I'm leaving. I hate you all.
Have a good evening jwr
l've taught my gentile helper to mke borscht
and the next lesson could be latkes :)
my Moslem friend keeps telling me that Jews and osoems are alike
ager
Some are, some aren't. I guess if you come from a similar part of the world. I have a Moslem friend and a HIndu friend - one from Pakistan, one from India. They always say how alike they are. Their customs too.
Fireworks.
Time for me to go. Have a good night, ruby. Sleep well.
