such as the alpaca on the plateau, attenuated.
yeah.. phantoms like tapenade
mmmm. tapenade

i'm sipping a nice jammy, leggy, 2007 cabernet franc from Dry Mill Wines in Leesburg, VA.
leggy?
referring to viscosity, based on swirling in glass.
oh.. never heard it like that.. usually it has legs
hm. maybe regional usage.

no worries, honey, that should have been in sarcassm font :D
as the prophet said.... you are as young as you feel... and i feel like a 30-something cabana boy
so, that is well used and sore in organs you do not have, right?
or should that be ... i would like to feel a 30-something...
I thought that might be what you really meant
*naughty rose*

becausel'msick of hearing persçnal details and reading baby talk and fractured English
fractured English, as it appearshere, is racist and very objectional
And I'm sick of you being nasty and throwing insults around, really. You're so unpleasant that you frequently shut down the chog and chase people off.
sorry to have offended you, Samantha; you've never been a target
l think bathroom talk shuts down the chog
I think pointless insults do. And an hour and a half of silence broken only by you coming back to continue it kinda backs me up.
tough to be so seensitive! And bathroom talk doesn't offend you<,
They're not pointless; they're pointed
You've been stewing over the phrase "nature calls" for an hour and a half and you're calling me sensitive?
not stwing at all, but a d&ily report is truly inappropriate
and you've been keeping track of the timesl'mon and off!!
It's two comments, next to each other, an hour and a half apart. That doesn't take a lot of "keeping track of." It's just right there.
if you're do interested in personal stuff, i'll be happy to share my cancer treatments with you
(red boxes at noon, sweetie)
..... You do. Often. I'm aware of your chemotherapy and various episodes, and I'm fine with that.

Thanks - I could use a coffee
Ooo, Monday morning Mai Tais. It's gonna be a great week.
Next week it will be Monday Mimosas. I've got a plan.
Good. I'm a firm believer in drinking oneself through the holiday season. : D
:D
What's that painting in your profile pic, Molly?
No clue. Just a nice holly image I found.
Appropriate to the season
It is a pagan tradition to bring holly into the house in winter to shelter the elves and fairies : D
How recent a tradition? I think of elves and fairies as something you'd traditionally want out of your house.
We Celtic pagans dig the wee people.
So many varieties, so many traditions. I can't keep track.
Then again, I've never really figured out what differentiates Presbyterians from Episcopalians, either.
I swear there are more phantoms than words in this grid
My thought too, Sam.
I see eggplant...
I see attenuated alpacas being thrown out of catapults, but that's me. ;)
Yes, I saw alpaca.

What a fantastic movie!
Not yet. I haven't been to a movie theatre in 15+ years as I find them too overstimulating. But I think this movie will get me in a theatre.
hi welk, hi all. lptip malfunctionin here.
You'll be glad you did, Scrabs. Highly recommend. And if you stay through the credits, they show footage of Freddy in concert. Worth every penny!
I have watched so many videos of Freddie and Rami that I need to see it.
He did a great job. I was skeptical.

Me too, Trif. I must know who was the gaff boy.

hello again. im in and out today, whew!
Hello, Trif.
so quiet here at school today! Many kids on a field trip....
Make the most of it. They'll be back.
hahaha - right you are!
it is uncharacteristically bright and sunny today - a lovely, welcome change
Uncharacteristic for this time of year or just recent weather?
I was a primary helper and we always found school was a wonderful place to work - if it wasn't for the kids!!
hmmm. definitely recently.
lol deeha. one of my friends has for years now chaperoned the high school trip to Italy every April. Sure as can be, every year some kids asks him "aren't you excited?" and he always wants to answer "I would be if you guys weren't going!"
ha ha ha
So is he very tactful in saying he can't wait?
These past few grids feel as though DrG has just rummaged through a bargain bin of rarely used words and thrown them into the mix.
Wish we could have grids that have between 100 to 200 words
and have s's ing and ed
Most of them are, but I agree, we've had a run of "difficult" grids in the last couple of weeks.
Sometimes it's how the letters lie but there are a lot of not often encountered words. I'm not complaining, just observing.
interchanges with ridiculously small grids
We could measure it buy how many 8+ letter words are *not* extensions of shorter words.
The higher that number, the tougher the grid
It's probably impossible to please everyone. Some like tiny grids, some like huge grids. I don't complain because I don't want Dr G to huff and refuse to run his machine.
I'm pretty pleased. I like the variety.
I do too.
hello!
Hello!
was thinking of you the other day. how are you?
Hello! (in harmony)
I'm very well, thanks.
hi samantha!
Starting to realise that I might have to start thinking about Christmas soon.
*waves furiously* Oh no, Haz, you've got WEEKS left before that's an issue.
i've been hibernating, but am trying to do outdoor stuff like decorating and yard work on this 50 degree day. F that is
We had a trip to London a couple of weekends ago and it was looking pretty good.
haz, i have a friend who runs clinical trials in oxford. she says i may accompany her. i thought it would be too cokd until spring.
Oh, bundle up and come across. Oxford is beautiful.
yes but not close to you.
No, small matter of the Irish sea between us and Oxford.
i hate cold weather! actually, to think of it, she was supposed to go in november but i saw no posts on FB. March is the next, i think.
well, she has gone to ireland on holiday whist there. and to paris
What sort of trials?
Would you have to take part in them or would you just be a travelling companion?
she is griveing now, her horse died. some sort of accident and he had to be put down. i know no details.
i think drugs. no, i would just be a companion.
Oh dear. That's not good.
i was scared to death of that animal. it was a morgan.
it happened on thanksgiving day.
hello TO and Haz. l have a couple of minutes before puppy supper. l&mnot ready for Christmaas!
That's the worst, when it happens on a memorable day. It means every year will bring it back to mind.
hi ruby
Why be afraid of a Morgan? Did it have a temperment problem? They're not very big, are they?
samantha is here as well
I'd never heard of Morgan horses but have quickly googled.
they are giant horses
Looks to have quite a long back?
well, it's so BIG . and i am so little. and not used to horsses. and it was a logging horse and tried to kill its driver.
Ooohhhh. I must be thinking of a different breed. Also: Hi, ruru
I'm only used to the ponies they used at Riding for the Disabled. They were very gentle.
I know what you mean, people who grow up with horses are very comfortable around them. I always heeded the advice to never walk behind them!
you absolutely MUST dominate horses or they will literally run all over you.
a pony would look like a hobbit compared to a Morgan
The only horrsesl like are running in flat races, especially if l"'ve placed a bet
well ty, i thoight i was being silly. i thought a nice horse does not try to bite you. or kill you. but her horsey friends say it was a great horse.
Good morning everyone :)
(((nan)))
The horses that pull the Budweiser beer wagon are Morgans (if that helps)
No, those are Clydesdales
14.1 to 16.2 hands, according to the breed website.
pa 8/50, pls
but morgans are almost as big as clydesdales
oh clydesdales are MUCH bigger. and gorgeous
Hi Bichon and Nan
hello my ruby
and stockier.
true.. more muscular
oh right, so they are
Maybe there are different standards for different breeds? I know for some dogs, the breed is considered so aggressive that it's considered acceptable to try and bite a judge in a show ring. Maybe horses have variable standards by breed too?
i was only in the barn once when she took him out to groom him. the tethers did not seem so sturdy with that big a creatire.
The only time l ever tried to ride, l was 16 and the horse bit me on the leg
yes, i am not comfortable around horses.
I think if a dog tries to bite a judge they are disqualified sJ
You think?
ooh, that heppened to me as well, ruby! i never knew WHT it ws up to till i dismounted and someone pointed out why he kept turning his head.
I know
I'll stick to fluffy puppies
then again, i never got out of the paddock. i'll stick to htose poor ponies every child got to ride around the ring it's probably against a host of laws now.
i am not saying horses are bad, you just have to know how to handle them.
It varies by breed, ruru
but hating its former owner and trying to kill him is a bit of a red flag, no?
l Iagree, Bichon, except my puppies are almost my size
but very fluffy, especially in their winter coats
If I ever got another dog, it would be a escue Bichon or Shih Tzu, or Havanese
anyway, i will advise when I get to oxford.
and now to more outdoor work before the temps drop. adios.
Would this be your first trip to England?
Adieu TO
yes. but my friend is capricious, so i will believe it when i have my ticket. her photos of oxford are lovely.
otherwise i will be finding me a tour in the spring and just go, health permitting.
We've been to Oxford. Lots to do there
It is beautiful.
i get mostly pub photos. ;)
Cambridge is lovely as well and I can recommend Windsor.
Hey, ruru: I went and hunted this up because I thought you'd find it interesting: http://dogbreeds.bulldog\ninformation.com/fila-brasileiro.html \n"It is probably the only breed that was selected for centuries to deeply dislike the humans they were not raised with, and, to this day, temperament tests run during championships require the dogs to attack without being coached, to remain self-confident during a shooting test, and to openly show their suspicion of strangers. The standard prescribes that, even at dog shows, Filas should not "allow the judge (a stranger) to touch it. And if it attacks the judge, such a reaction must not be considered a fault, but only a confirmation of its temperament." "
oh yes, she posted photos from touring windsor
and if you want to go to stonehenge book the tour that takes you right into the circle -- and do it now or they will all be booked. (very limited)
It's very special. The amazing thing about all those towns and cities is that they are ancient but modern life carries on regardless.
now i am excited. but spring it must be. oh dear, li5s are flapping madly on the li4. must check them.
See you later, TO.
bye!
pa 8/50, pls

You're welcome.
wow.. thanks Samantha.. I learned something new. in all my years of showing dogs it was always a disqualification
Haz, allowed to borrow?
ty haz
Easter season, bichon
It absolutely is for almost any breed. That's a big exception, and I think there's one more, but I can't remember it off the top of my head. But the point of it is that I was wondering if there are different standards for horses as well.
My neighbour wanted to borrow a book, I **** him my copy.
ty Haz, wouldn't have guessed
You're welcome.
Thx Haz
of course, there is no definition...
It would be fun to make up a definition.
