so who wants to hear about the really awesome thing i did today
Hi all and yes, Hurshy. It sounds like an interesting way to start my babble today.
it's Spirit Week at school, and today was 80s day
so i got a gorgeous dress and hairpiece and went as a woman from the... 1780s!
I like your thinking.
I was going to ask spirit as in religion or ghost?
yay you hurshy. i love it.
as in school spirit, you show your school spirit by participating in dressing up for the various theme days
latk
Hope it was well appreciated.
sorry... not a real word
yes
All you need is an e Rose, and one of my favourite ways to eat potatoes.
somebody said "1880s!" and i said no, i'm showing WAY too much skin for 1880s!
*giggle* i know...
se 7, my last 7
That conjures up pics, Hurshy.
crashing -- good night
Sleep well nan
my forearms were bare! and my neck and collarbones!!
So risque!
queen victoria would not have approved
Nor would she have been amused.
BBL
but i've honestly never been a big fan of victoria
OMB
is that the victoria they had in mind when they named Victoria's Secret? because if so that is HILARIOUS
According to the Wikipedia page, it was.
yeah that's what i'm seeing too
And it was supposed to be a store where men felt comfortable buying lingerie
yeah, originally
but then wasn't succeeding enough cause women didn't
so then it got bought out by another guy who made the stores better for women
whilst men continued to shop via catalogue
and the original founder committed suicide
after other business failure and divorce
phantoms: talk, walk, chalk
I'm out....I'm just hoping that all of the school children that had to endure Hurshy's appearance have recovered well enough to attend school tomorrow.
morning all

hellooooo dearest spritey. how is the ankle? have you been able to sleep?
*hugs rose* I am sleeping okay. Ankle's swelling is way down, pain is manageable. And I am practising patience. Dear God, grand me patience. AND I WANNA HAVE IT RIGHT NOW!
how are you and the Donster doing today?
*giggle* yep... know that feeling well...
we have been to hydro today. and, btw, what you sent me has arrived safe and sound. thank-you so much.
well, tbh, I am doing okay so far. The Big Guy is letting me feel I am safe and healing and being taken care of, somehow. I am mostly at peace, and when I am not, I can accept I am having a dip and will feel better soon.
woooooot am so glad. Feels good, doesn't it? And thank YOU. For everything.
don is getting on quite well bringing down the dividing wall. he goes in everyday and tries to remove at least 5 bricks.
that is the way to go about it. Am so glad, honey. Good man, Don! (at last, lol)
this wall was once an exterior wall hence the cement holing the bricks together is very strong.
*holding*
Rob was feeling overwhelmed day before yesterday. Snapped at me for anything and everything and basically was a pita. Yesterday I decided I would not ask him to do anything for me, just let him go and do his own thing all day. He worked on the caravan ramp all day, was tired afterward but felt better. We talked and he agreed he needs to communicate better... sigh... let me know when to leave him in peace. It is kinda hard, because I need help for everything, basically. Good thing I am a creative thinker, lol.
oh yes, those walls are a challenge. Hm... next time your beloved has a temper tantrum... point him to the wall and tell him to smash it down :D
it does make it a tad difficult o walk around bare foot. as much as he sweeps/vacuums there always some grit left on the floor which is ouchies when trodden on.
yeah. Better wear some slippers for now.
we had our first service with the locum vicar on sunday. he seems quite nice, and has an interesting way of presenting his sermon. he steps into the middle of the church, and teaches from there. taking questions and responses to his questions from the congregation.
i have told raffaella i am not going to say good-bye to her. rather i will see you again soon. she is the first vicar in my 66 years who has become a friend.
good thinking honey. She is a special one. New one's approach sounds good.
did you see my post about Rob?
yes honey. it's so difficult for you both at the moment. he has had you anticipating his needs for so long. and now he needs to anticipate your needs. hard, hard, hard. i am praying for you both, actualy both of us are praying for you.
that is so much appreciated, rose :) And it helps. Rob and I will be okay, we just need to keep communicating. Rob's burnout is not over yet and having to take care of me now is not a good timing for him. But it is what it is, and we will have to deal with it.
and you are on our prayer circle at the church. and Raffaella particularly said to tell you that you are on her personal prayer kist.
am glad he has taken care leave. Only the tuesdays not, then he is off to work (like today). Which, I think, is a good thing. It gives him a day away from being a caretaker.
lolll kist ?? yeah that works... try list...
omg that is so special. Thanks, so much, rose. I can't begin to tell you how well it works. That feeling of inner peace is the result.
here my day out with June gives don time off from caring for me.
it is important, isn't it. We need to feel we are more than 'just' caretakers... or patients... or anywhich role.
i am disappointed. the new swimwear i bought on-line doesn't fit well. i double checked the measurements given and ordered appropriately. one swimmer fits okay, but i have to wear extra swim shorts under it. *sigh*
awww :( That sucks.
i wish Don didn't have so much trouble with words. i would like it so much if he would reach out to Rob.
well, he does, in prayers and thoughts. I am certain that works. But yeah. Rob could use a friend like Don for sure.
oh, did i tell you my 70+ year old neighbour was baptised last week?
maybe an idea: Rob loves beautiful poems and song texts. Not religious ones, though... but any other kind. Maybe if Don comes across one that moves him, he could share it with Rob without many extra words :D
yes you did, and you said she holds you responsible, grin
oh okay....
I want a past tense of giving an italian greeting to be valid :(
today's reading on Sojourner was Isaiah 46, verse 4. it is so beautiful. "And even when you are old, I am with you, and when your hair turns gray I will carry you still. I created you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will save you"
aw that is beautiful
it amazed me.
could you give me a nudge towards ac7? Please?
how's the weather over there? are you warm enough in the caravan/trailer?
ac7. start with the highest card then anagram foot digits.
I am warm enough. Outside it is freezing, but it is a clear freeze, with blue skies and sun. In the afternoon, when the sun is like this, it even get hot inside and I will open a window!
thanks honey. I was blind to that ending, lol.
and the gas heater in the caravan is actually doing a splendid job of keeping the temps even. We put it on low, wear enough layers, and it works very well.
glad you are warm. being unable to be as active as usual i was concerned you might be cold. and are you keeping up with your physio?
yeah, doing my exercises all day long. without thinking by now, lol. Just flex those feet and lift those legs...
and pull your kneecap up and down, and flex your quads. push your knee down onto the bed, hard.
yeah. All of that. And as the plastermaster told me... do it 30 to 50 times... not per day... per HOUR!
that is the back of your knee....
lol, right
yup.... it is so important to keep those muscles in top form. you are gonna need them mucho.
am being a good soldier, honey. I do all of that, all the time, and will keep doing it. I want to beat the statistics. I am gonna heal up a lot faster than those 6 months the doc predicted.
*giggle* i bet you will... you have so many people ... and the Big Guy.... on/by your side.
so very true, rose. I can feel it. Does that sound odd? I can actually feel it. It feels like a mantle around my shoulders.
not odd at all. that is how i feel the support of God too.
first time ever I felt that was after my miscarriage. I was taking a walk at night, feeling so much pain, and all of a sudden, there it was. Didn't take away the pain, but my, did it make it a lot easier to bear.
*squirrel*
fireflies. Easy grid today. *hugs* and lots of love to the both of you, honey, and an extra hug for you alone. Sleep well tonight!
and to you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night. In any order you like.
WTG SPRITE!!
no squirrel, just a machine of washing to be hung out... luvsya darling. and thanx for your lovely hugs i find in chog. xoxox
*poofs with love*
grannyrose, loved your verse today from Isaiah, thanks for sharing
l Always thought that religion and politics werenot part of the babble chat.Quoting from the Old Testament is more inclusive, but New Testament excludes too many
Finding commonalities amongst all of our diverse religions is much more relevant nd necessary than quoting Something exclusively Christian.
Well Ruby, it's been said that it doesn't matter which road you take, they all lead to the same place. : D
Living here l am able to have true discussions with Arab friends (VERY inreresting and l've learned a lot) but they Don't quote the Koran to me.
Good moning, Molly, l've put my soapbox away
Each of us prays in his own way but with the terrifying rise of anti-Semitism, both here and in the US, it has made memore touchy on the subject.
I hope today finds you feeling better. I find religious and political discussions interesting. They seem to offend some, though.
I think everyone uses the chog in his or her own way. Not every conversation is going to suit every person and there are definitely things that I sometimes find irksome but I just ignore those - I'm not the arbiter of all things Babble :)
l enjoy those discussions, too, having learned a lot from my ragtag group of friends
Good point Matty. When I'm not into whatever is being discussed in chat, I just focus on the grid.
l had a serious fall yesterday -- one moment's inattention. Stupid!
Ouch, Ruby. I hope the fall didn't do you too much harm.
You're right, Molly, l guess l'l feeling vulnerable and scared living in a place with no Americans, no Jews, no Asiatics, Nothing exotic.
Nothing broken, just more pain added to my daily dose.
My friends here are all lapsed Catholics who never discuss religion. The lovely old Church in the village if only open on "special occasions"
I Don't make a big deal about being a Jew but l let friends and Neighbors know to avoid any uncomfortable conversations
I like hearing about religious traditions. I find aspects of faith's other than the one I was raised in, fascinating. I'm not a big fan of "preachy" people though.
I do, too, and my friend, Nadia, who is Moroccan, tells me lots of fascinating details. And her family has totally accepted me. Her father has cancer, too, and we are on similar schedules, "cancer buddies"*
We pray for each other
FW
Congrats peach!
Ruby, so sorry about your fall! Am sure the pups are giving you healing kisses :-)
ha
sorry don't know where that came from
Sometimes Lickety Expert will do that. Somehow the first two letters of what you typed will end up in chat.
That must be it. Or I'm not hitting the keys hard enough.

hello friends
Morning, trif
nice and sunny here today, albeit cold, but thankfully the howling winds have subsided
Did you see the footage of that British Airways jet trying to land in yesterday's high wind? All I could think of was "how many people are wetting their pants?"
Molly, your icon looks like an area of my garden.
All the wet weather has been good for the daffs.
Ah, I bet it's pretty. I would love to have a spring garden with lots of daffodils, crocus and hyacinth.

I have yellow and purple crocus and daffodils blooming now. and some of the flowering trees are out.

Yes, the Bradford pears and redbuds in in bloom.

My in-laws once had a neighbor that had a tiered hill of azaleas in their back yard. People asked to pose for pictures in front of it all the time. We have a hill by our indoor swim center that is covered with daffodils. Just gorgeous when they are all in bloom.

His tiny bubbles have nothing to do with wine, though
I should know by now that whenever I can't find a simple 4 letter word, it is probably some random foreign currency that I have never heard of.

Hello harpjane! How are you doing today?Welcome to grid
I'm good minver. We have had a record snowfall. Schools and many businesses have been closed for two days now. We finally got our house and one car shoveled out. But there's more snow predicted!
I'm getting light snow tomorrow. Wonder if it's your left-overs.Bet I Montanans are very ready for Spring to come.
We have had a mild winter until now.
sorry, lost power briefly - hope it's here to stay now!!
Hello flosey! How are you doing today? Welcome to chog.
fine thanks Min - hopefully our power will hold for a couple more hours - we can go to bed and hope for power in the morning
I had 50 mph winds here. I thought I was going to lose my power, but I did not thank goodness! Wind has died down.
our winds haven't been too bad. Missoula, 50 miles north, had more wind but less snow.
Believe me, I'd much rather have high winds than snow!
