According to the Wordracer solver, 86 words, 2 eights, 4 sevens.

12:30 am

We got a 7 for 60!!

12:34 am

Another 7 for 48

An 8 for 90 woo-hoo!

1:58 am

Sorry, but I am out of the loop. What is the Wordracer solver?

damn...a few letters away from phenylalanine...that would be a babbler's dream

4:04 am

mmm hmmm and that 90 Pointer just rolls of your tounge huh Darlin ? LOL I was jumping for jess when I found it <wink> but l@@ka whom beat me to it ;; LMAO!! ^*~~ ^~ GBIFD ^~ \X/~

8:17 am

RED SOX RULE!!! Sorry but I had to get that out of my system!

9:19 am

So Minski, which player are you naming the baby after? ;) roomette - there are a few online solvers for puzzles like these. The one I use, which is easier to use without seeing the words, is called the "Boggle/Wordracer" solver. It uses a different dictionary than Babble does, so sometimes it's off by a word or two. Hopefully soon someone will post stats that are more detailed from the Enable solver, which uses the Enable dictionary just like Babble does. Hope that's clear - I just woke up :)

found both 8s but no sevens oh well back to work for a while

9:22 am

This puzzle's like pulling teeth for me today.. are the sevens and eights everyday-language words, or words like phenylalaine?

9:25 am

The O/8/40 is an every day word. The A/7/28 isn't tooooo bad. The other 8 is uncommon. I've found 2 of the 3 missing 7s and they are both uncommon. This is one of the worst puzzles I've seen. I usually like the ones with fewer words, but uggh! I'll post stats in a minute.

9:29 am

From wordracer: 86 words (88 from enable solver, so 2 missing) 2x8+ 4x7 9x6 27x5 44x4 18xA 4xD 4xE 10xH 2xi 17xL 2xN 4xO 4xP 5xR 13xT 1xW 2xY As always, until someone posts enable stats, if you have more in any category please post.:)

9:32 am

I'm a Yankee fan. WWAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH (Official Noo Joisey whine)

9:38 am

Me too...can't wait until next spring. (I'm due the end of April and have decided our baby will be born on a day the Yankees win. But there will be a lot of days for the baby to choose from :-)

9:44 am

Sorry Fit1 but I am a born and bred Boston 'Burb Brat and a diehard Red Sox Fan. This is a banner day!!!!

9:48 am

We know it's a girl, but if it were a boy the name would be Pedro Trot (we are naming our 1st after my husband's brother and his initials are PT). Since it's a girl we have decided on Paige Tracey.

9:53 am

Minski, where are you from? I grew up in Newton...

10:00 am

6/7/8 letter words. I'm still missing 2 6's. 8/90/A - a ridge of cartilage 7/28/A - a workshop 6/30/D - a hebrew letter 6/36/H - A translucent product of some degenerative skin conditions 7/52/H - variant of previous word 6/18/L - having woolly hairs 6/18/O - to make familiar with 8/40/O - of or having to do with the far east 6/54/ P - a magical bird (alternate spelling) 7/60/P - a chemical, C20H42 7/48/P - a form of amylase in the saliva 6/18/T - something you are good at 6/27 T - relating to the palm of the hand

10:04 am

6/42/P--a chemical, C6H5

10:11 am

I have 2 ELs and an ET. Does anyone know what the 4th E is? For As I'm also missing one. I have: AA, ALx6, ANx6, AT, AXx3

10:17 am

I have an AL5

10:17 am

never mind...re-read your numbers. You're WAY ahead of me/us still!!

10:23 am

Hi Krys10 ~ I grew up in Hingham, work in Newton, and live in Stoneham. Where are you now?

10:27 am

Minski - I moved to California ten years ago, and I miss the snow and apple-picking season, but not shoveling! This puzzle is giving me a headache.. will be back later.

10:32 am

The missing words are 2 N words, both 4 letters. So, there are 4xN and 46x4.

10:34 am

And I found my missing E. It was another ET.

10:36 am

And the missing A was another AL, a 6 for 27 that is a chemical CH3CH(NH2)CO. So, 88/1233 for the final.

11:33 am

so many chemicals! I hate chemicals!

11:40 am

These words are rough!!! jlm, you must have done a lot of noodling.

11:40 am

This puzzle is hideous! *goes back to putting random letters together*

11:46 am

When I see a chemical clue, I just eliminate that word as a possibility for me. I can't even noodle a second 4-letter n :( I am unhappy with this puzzle

11:48 am

Ooops. I found a second n4.

11:51 am

My problem is an unhealthy dose of stubborn. If I know it's there, I have to find it, even if I have to noodle -ine -yl -ol -ix argh!

12:15 pm

Yep, a lot of noodling and old babble words. Chemicals often end in yl and ane. ;) And there are 3 4-letter N words. One of them comes up allll the time in babble (indian bread). One is spanish and the other is also pretty common in babble and means grandma.

12:23 pm

c20h42 is eicosane wonder where the P is? Must be silent

12:49 pm

mmmm I'm wondering the same thing stevedallas!

12:56 pm

I found that P-- the word doesn't look much like eicosane. Also dictionary.com doesn't believe in it.

12:58 pm

I've searched for this word on the internet (Merriam Webster's dictionary lists it as C20H42). The references I've found list molecules by carbon count, but don't include the Hydrogen count. This word and eicosane are both listed right next to each other as C20.

12:58 pm

Are any of the P words PT?

1:04 pm

Anyone want to compare T's or L's? I'm missing 2 Ts and an L: La: 4x3, 5x4, 6 Le: 4 Li: 4x6, 5 Ta: 4x3, 6 Te: 4 Th: 4x2, 5x2, 6 Ty: 4

1:06 pm

Yes, there is one PT word. You are missing an LA5, a TA4 and a TH5.

there is a PT7

3:41 pm

Are there 3 or 4 N words? I'm confused ....

3:43 pm

4 See my post at 10:32

3:47 pm

followed by 12:15: And there are 3 4-letter N words. ;)

3:47 pm

oh *sigh* am I asleep? I think so - so there are 3 N4 and 1 N5???

3:53 pm

Yep! :-D At the later time fit1 indicated having trouble finding a second 4-letter N word, so I was just pointing out that there were actually 3 of them, so not to give up looking after the second. This puzzle really does leave a bad taste in the mouth though!

4:36 pm

thank you! *shakes head* I must really be asleep today! Got it - thank goodness - this puzzle has been utterly horrid. I normally like the shorter ones, but not this one!

6:57 pm

Do all 4 N words start with Na?

7:20 pm

nope, there's an NY!

hello

10:42 pm

Hello Meredith! :)

hey im totally lost!
