we have an ad for the paint section of a Canadian hardware store right now that makes me laugh every time it comes on.... remember when you painted the wall pink in the 70's? - those wide stripes in the 80's? - that spongey thing you did in the 90's? - it's time to redecorate!

I remember that hooking stuff being popular back in the 70's. People had all this shaggy stuff hanging on their walls.
I think part of it in the 50's was that there wasn't as many options for counter tops and back splashes as there are now. Someday someone is going to say granite? concrete? everything white or grey? ugh!
