I found an 8/90!

12:07 am

Another 8/90!

12:13 am

an 8 for 65

12:59 am

Only played for a short time and already found 39 words, many 7's and an 8. Is this going to be one of those giant grids?

1:20 am

h/8/65

1:23 am

MammaJill, what does your 8 for 90 start with?

1:24 am

w/8/80

1:25 am

Found the W/8/90.

1:26 am

Another w/8/90

1:32 am

At 12:59 am sprite said... "Is this going to be one of those giant grids?" Nope. Fraid not! Babblestats 4 .... 48 5 .... 26 6 .... 22 7 .... 13 8 ..... 5 ========== total 114 ========== A 7 E 11 F 13 G 11 H 6 L 2 P 21 R 7 S 18 T 4 W 14

1:32 am

I have 2x W8/90 and 1x W8/80 so far. Each is a 7/8 combo.

1:33 am

Thanks, shortseer! Nice to know... I like the big ones, but they take too much time... and too much of my ability to tear myself away of the game. ;-D

1:34 am

there's a third W7/W8 combo

1:49 am

I can't believe that there are two L words in this game.

1:52 am

it looks like an l on my stats printout ... but maybe it's an i

1:54 am

No, it is correct. Two L-words. Currency-name, singular/plural. Came across them once in another puzzle, not a common word.

1:56 am

sprite, what country is the currency from?

1:57 am

sprite, how many letters in the currency words?

1:59 am

Angola, I believe.

1:59 am

L4/7, L5/16 (now you know! lol)

2:00 am

sprite, thank you. I will keep trying.

2:01 am

It takes a very uncommon combo of starting letters.

2:02 am

Don't owls have hips?

2:17 am

sprite, thanks for the help. Got the L words after lots of noodling.

3:50 am

They are really obscure words, wouldn't have found them if I hadn't come across them before. But with letter count and points they can at least be noodled a little easier.

4:33 am

i think googling for angolan currency could be faster than noodling Whether tis nobler to google or to noodle ... That is the question ;)

4:38 am

*lol* I agree!

5:59 am

don't think anyone has mentioned this - another 8 for 50 and its another currency

6:54 am

A currency subdivision, to be exact.

6:56 am

Just as the L-words: subdivions of currencies.

7:01 am

well really, in some countries a currency subdivision, and in a few others, another name for their actual currency ;)

7:01 am

Nice! Would like to know which... perhaps you could tell me tomorrow?

7:22 am

One more S, one more P... why do the last ones always take so long? ;)

7:44 am

Done at 114 words 5.13 2308 points. Apart from the L-words for (fractional) monetary unit(s) no obscure words.

8:02 am

I found the currency. Google didn't help. They talk about the Kwanza, the main currency. Noodling worked. Tis better to noodle than to Google. :)

8:08 am

One could google on currencies and then work through the lists... but either way you find something to ad to your vocabulary. ;-)

8:11 am

Sprite, now I have to learn how to pronounce it and to casually bring it up in conversation. LOL

8:12 am

e6/7 combo. What we know as a spring holiday

8:22 am

We'll make such an educated impression on the public... *lol*

8:32 am

f6/7 combo. grow more infectious

8:51 am

8's: H65, P50, W90, W90, W80. 7's: E28, F40, G40, G32, G48 H56, H48, P36, P36, S44 W68, W68, W60

11:24 am

Can I have a clue for the P/36 and P8/50 please

1:06 pm

To harass with petty annoyances; bother Is the definition for the p7 36. Fraid I dont have the 8 either!

1:10 pm

There are 2 P7/36's. The other is a (sub) currency. The P8 is the plural.

1:31 pm

Oh, sprite, would please tell me what country the P sub-currency is from or the number of points. Thanks :)

1:34 pm

You can take your pick from Spain, Turkey and Egypt. Even from Italy in the past. :-D

1:35 pm

And Sudan... and Lebanon... and Syria...

1:36 pm

Having a tough time finding the A's. They are usually hard for me to locate.

1:40 pm

Thanks, sprite, I will keep noodling. I know I will find them.

1:40 pm

Funny, I have the same problem. Somehow the A's are harder than the rest. My A's go: 5-6-5-5-6-5-6

1:42 pm

For the P-currency: you probably have the P4/6 that forms the base.

1:42 pm

Found the P currencies.

1:44 pm

there is another 6 between the two 5s. but Im still one short

1:46 pm

Then I think you need another 5 in between... ;-) 7 A's is all there is.

1:49 pm

oops! cheers peri!

1:50 pm

sorry - that should say cheers sprite!

1:52 pm

sprite, may I please have clues for the g/40 and the g/48?

1:55 pm

g 48 has no definition, but rhymes with a smelly fish

1:56 pm

Clues for the H/56 would be appreciated. Once I find that one and the last two g sevens. I will have all of the 7's and 8's.

1:56 pm

g 40 has a root 4 for 7 meaning to take in air

1:59 pm

H56: most fashionable (slang)

1:59 pm

granadan, thanks. I had the singular. Forgot to add the s.

2:02 pm

4:29 pm

4:32 pm

1x Gh.

4:38 pm

I cant find any GE words

4:39 pm

Periwinkle's Ge's are probably Gi's. ;-)
