good morning babblers
Hey, Sprite! How is the healing coming along?
*hugs Kam* Good evening, dear one! I can't know for sure, of course, but it feels like it is healing real good and fast. I putter around all over the caravan without ill effects. How are you doing?
Glad to hear you can putter around! That's great news. I just saw a post on facebook from my cousin's step-grandkid - my cousin just died. Waiting for details - none of our parents are still around, so I'm trying to get in touch with the gal. I'm overwhelmed - I think I'm the last of my generation now. That is scary.
aw sweetie :( I am so sorry. That is a tough way to find out something so sad.
I don't dare try to call her hubby at this hour of the morning - he's in Texas, so it's nearl 2AM. I'll call tomorrow
*nearly
that is a wise decision, I think. Tomorrow morning should word.
work*
t
hiya Nanette :)
will you be able to sleep, Kam?
I don't know...I'm just sitting here crying and trying to get halfway. I have to take the dog to the groomer tomorrow, so I do have to sleep and be able to drive tomorrow! I think I'm in shock! She was so healthy! She didn't let me know she had problems...I don't have a clue. Our family was never that close after the elders passed - I have second cousins older than I! My mom was youngest by about 18 years, so, since my brother passed, I'm the youngest of my generation.
I'll be ok, but what a shock!
I can imagine. Make sure you are warm enough and get yourself a sugary hot drink, honey
Tea with honey, I think. Four more words...and I have half of the words. Something to do tomorrow afternoon!
tea with honey sounds good. And a warm *HUG* from me to go with it.
lol, my father is in the grid. Na7/32
Thanks, sweetie! And a big healing HUG for you from mee too
thank you!
Heck, I can't even type without errors all over...will say g'nite now! Talk to you again soon.
sleep well, dear one. Will hold you in my thoughts and prayers.
And...I'm exactly half done, so off to clean up before bed!
Thanks, and hugs
wtg Kam!!!!!
*poof*
just hit half, not the easiest grid. where is everybody? last chat was 6 hours ago or mine isn't loading right.
I guess 5 hrs ago
i was just wondering the same thing! hello there
buried in the grid...
hi all
maybe everyone decided to sleep in
And my husband keeps talking to me...He knows better this early...
LOL, here come people. Hello!
gawd, how I wish ! I was sewn to the sheets today
been here a while, just nothing to say yet
We get a new bed today! I am so excited! I will be sewn to the sheets tomorrow!
nice!
oh how lovely!
takes a little getting used to, but you'll like it :) we replaced ours in december and am so glad we did (went back to queen size instead of king)
I'm eating double chocolate banana bread so for once I'm glad I'm awake :)
I had banana bread for breakfast. no chocolate though. :(
we finished our banana bread last night - must be something in the air!
I had an actual banana on my way to work, so can I play too?
banana bread mania
I still have like 7 overripe bananas to figure out what to do with
freeze them if you can't decide
if you mash old bananas and then freeze them you can eat them later like ice cream - yummy!!!
I have done that before and ended up throwing them away later. Do you just let them thaw and then put in recipe as normally? I know the peels turn black in the freezer but they are still okay.
I have done that, Trifioso. It is good. Maybe I'll do that.
exactly - or make smoothies (or eat them mashed, like trif suggested)
(or more banana bread - and then freeze it, if you've had enough of it)
I have a doughnut mix I'm going to put some in.
Stepped away for a minute. We got one of the fancy beds that articulates and has a cooling pad on my side of the bed...so looking forward to not sweating at night!
I peel them before I put them in a ziplock bag in the freezer
I thaw them before mashing them in the dough, but you can cheat with the microwave :)
that sounds like heaven on earth bzzn! Please report back, so I can vicariously live through you!
well, I have 100 to go. started painting my sewing room last night and need to get back to it. bbl to finish!
well done, bea!!
is it a split mattress? *watching bea scramble for sheets*
ar 7/32 please?
1st ar 7/32 I should say
a poison
... and old lace, luv
thanks, I have that one, need the one before the opera song
a geometrical term
No, its not a split mattress. We got a queen, so both sides have to move together.
thanks mael :-)
heh - so if he wakes you up snoring, you can elevate the head of the bed :D
I do have to admit, he is not the snorer in the room. But he is hearing impaired, so he doesn't hear it. =)
it's the little things :)
in the n in the second column fishy? I just cannot see it at all
b vitamins, trif
BLESS you, bzzn!
=)
trif, did your sister ever see your poem in my booklet?
not as yet, round barn - I have not actually clapped eyes on her in an age, even though we live in the same town! between my schedule and hers, we just cross paths but never intersect
i'll be glad to hear her reaction when she does--or to anything else I say in the booklet.
i watch all of you and follow your lives but seldom speak. Write a lot, though. (My most sought after book my tech buddy is abt to post on my web page--it's very un-pc.
I write well but publicize poorly. Rastaspopolous is the smart one in the family--she posted early this morning--10 pm her time. She spots the hard words.
I was glasd to find the word sneap the other day--a word my grandmother used but I've never heard anyone else, ever--or seen it used in print.
ok back to lurking
RoundBarn, I don't speak often either.
gramma, you are the one from Middlebury. I own a camp on Lake Iroquois , Hinesburg, and have been going there every summer. We are getting a dock this summer. My kids don't want me to sell the camp so when I'm gone they'll have to pay the heavy taxes!
Yes I am. I would love to meet you but it seems impossible.
Have been in vt every summer since 1951. Wrote a book on vt that won the dorothy canfield fisher. called The Taste of Spruce Gum. Takes place mostly on Killington Mountain.
It is lovely here in almost all seasons.
well, read the book then! It goes between the mountain and Rutland and is fiction but true in the details, gleaned from a person who lived there. Impossible because you don't drive?
Impossible because your friend never gets back to me.
which friend? I have one near Middlebury. Her folks live in my Illinois town--spfld--and we taught at the same university.
I don't recall her info but you told me to reach out to her to set up a meet and I never heard back.
I needto send her a booklet (with Trif's poem) and will remind her but I prob no longer have your name. I'm getting old!
but I'm easily findable on my websites, roundarnstories, and jacqueline-jackson.
We're all getting older. I think I contacted you on your web page. Is that a thing?
My kids and my tech buddy monitor my pages and bawl me out. If I didn't respond I'm sorry. These last two years I haven't had a car there--the kids fly in, rent cars but tell me I can't drive, not on the insurance! So I row. That won't get me to Middlebury.
I'm off to the doctor. Last August something bit my big toe. I showed it to my doc in October but she dissmissed it. Now it has spread and my whole toe and into my foot is bright red!
I'll check back in later.
Hinesburg is becoming a --what's the word--well, it's now an attractive place for Burlington people to live, so it's losing its remote country aspect.
erse
Sounds like a spider bite, gramma. It could have become infected. Good luck at the doc's

Just found an Na 6/18 NA + most of the fat edge of bacon. Minus last letter + vowel.

na 7-8-9 please?
or the first ni 6?
ni6 - B vitamin
I have na 7 but i don't see it leading to more....starts with the fed drug policeman....
ty vicuna
Two letter plural Pen
you probably have the same ni 7 that I do pen -- there is a 7-8-9-8 following the ni 4 police that precedes it
well, molly....must be off a different na 7...but thanks for the tip....
Ah, try drug agents followed by German for "one"
No, it's off of the na7 that starts with the drug cop
there are 2 ni 7's that follow the drug cop -- looking for the first one
well i have another na 7 that starts with the drug cop and it doesn't go anywhere.....needed the german ending....ty, vicuma....
Mooly, there's another na7 that starts with the drug agent, but is a variant of one who cares only about themselves
Oh wait, both na7 start with drug cop
*Molly, not Mooly. Ha!
that's the one vicuna -- but can't find the ending
yes.....but the other leads to 7/8/9/8....nice...
Well, you could use German for "one" before a feminine word, if that helps...
Then pl it
Oh this is getting all muddied up. Nan, that na7 doesn't have any extension. It's the first one that you already have.
na4 - drug cop na7 - drug cop plus German "one"
found it, ty -- looking for the 8-9 now
just add a vowel and pl...
na8, add a vowel na 9 - pl na8 - pl of the non-vowel variant na7 - obsessed with self
ty pen - whew!
yw...
Oh good, I thought Nan was totally lost since she kept mentioning ni7
oops - sorry
can someone please give me STATS for the fourth column bottom E?

Oh damn, now I want cookies.
I don't know the singular of cookies. I don't think I have ever had just one cookie.
i got soup to go at the bakery and it came with a free cookie....

And let's hear it for bakeries who give out free cookies.

Yay for free lunch

Hi Nef
Hi nef
FW. Ech. What a slog.
I'm granson
Would that be Nef letting her grandson play as her?
FW
Congrats! ((Gapeach))
Congrats peach!!
Molly, do you remember when I moved back to GA? I told you that I had lost my whole family and you sent me a Christmas card. That was the sweetest thing.
Hey there, zooz. Haven't talk with you for a while. Hope all is well with you>
Thanks, Unea.
Not too bad thanks , Gapeach. Are you okay?
Yeah, about the same.....did I tell you that I lost the little one with diabetes?
No I did not know ((Gapeach)) Sorry to hear that.
He had to be put down about a week and a half ago....kidney stones....a star burst one was lodged and they operated twice and I couldn't put him through any more.....I cry a lot.
Bless you. It is okay to cry. I would to if it was me in the same situation.
How is the other one taking it?
Thanks much, zooz. Please say a prayer for me> Honey is still looking for him.....it is really sad to watch her.
You did the right thing. Dot want to see our loved ones suffer.
Of course I will. I will send you virtual loving hugs too.
Thanks so much, zooz.
Honey will like extra cuddles from you at this sad time too. No doubt you are.
I know it will be hard but please be good to yourself too, Gapeach. I bet there are loads and loads of happy memories you will look back on over time.
I had him cremated...now I have 4 containers to be mixed with mine. Yes, he was a great little guy. And I kissed him on his head as my Vet was taking him out for xrays and surgery.
They were "rescues". They gave me nine year of happiness.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Peach.
And I have no doubt the little fella said thank you to you.
Thanks much, Bea.
As you gave them 9 years of love, comfort and happiness too.
I keep thinking that I should have noticed something....there just wasn't any clues.....the first thing was a pool of blood and I called the Vet at 5 AM and she came straight-away.
Please try not blaming yourself, Gapeach, like you said there was no clue.
Well I guess I should watch the news or something. The news here (in the US) is just...well, you know about it.....the world is laughing at us.
Oh please we have it here too with the shambles of brexit!
Thanks for listening.....we do have a wonderful group of people here in Babble land. don't we?
We do ((Gapeach)) And I am always here for you if you need to chat.
That is so comforting. Thank you for being you. Blessings. See you later.
Oh I just popped in, gapeach I'm so sorry! I know how hard it is to lose a furry loved one. Hugs & prayers for you.
Be kind to yourself and hope to speak to you again soon.
Hello, lil* Monkey.
Hi zooz
((((Hugs))))) to all who have felt the loss of a furry loved one
It's not an easy thing to endure.
Agreed, lil Monkey.
Okay time for me to retire for the evening. Happy babbling everyone!
Hmmm. I showed my grandson this site a while ago & he was excited about it (he's 9 yrs old & loves brain games); I've been using my sons' iPad trying to see if I should get one since my old tablet is on it's last legs. We just got back from a trip to MT today for my brothers' Celebration of Life "party" (& yes, that's what it was!) & I had Babble on the iPad. I see my grandson "helped" me with 4 words (3 F's and an H) while I went to the grocery store; but he also posted in the Chog!!! I will definitely have to talk to him about that now (if he likes the game enough I'll buy him his own account).
He would be welcome to play Nef. Let us know what name he chooses and congratulate him on finding words for you. What a nice thing to do.
I am sorr to hear about your brother but I much prefer a celebration of life over a gloomy funeral. The world was a better place with him in it and that is worth celebrating for sure.
I know he'd be welcome to play. And he's smart enough to play too; and he has fairly good internet social skills normally; I'm just surprised he'd checked out the chat!
Bugs, my brother had ALS, diagnoses 2 years ago; and he raged against the disease. He made it to the 2 year mark & bragged about beating that because his doc told him he'd be dead in 2 years. I think he made it to 2 years, 1 month. He actually died the end of January &I was out there with him for 9 days before he died); but he wanted the party when it was closer to spring but before the railroad crew went out (he was a "candy dancer" & worked on the rails) and he wanted it at the Eagles club too. So they got it all figured out for this past Saturday. There were about 150 people there; railroaders, people he grew up with, & people from his poker club and ball clubs (when he was a kid), etc.
I love the term candy dancer. What exactly would he do?
He could be a real sh*t head; but he'd also give you the shirt off his back. One guy got up & told about 30 years ago this guy was losing his business and Mark told him he had $20,000 in the bank & offered to give it to him, no strings attached & no need to pay him back. The guy didn't take him up on it (he said it wasn't right to throw good money after bad); but he also told of how Mark ran a drill through the guy's foot while putting a fishfinder on his boat & then had the guy help him finish the set-up before taking him to the hospital.
Such good stories! He sounds like he was quite a force to be reckoned with but to have 150 people turn up shows how much he was appreciated. We all can be sh*theads sometimes. I just hope people remember the good stuff about me longer than they do the times I was less than perfect.
Sorry, Bugs, the term is GANDY Dancer. They are the guys that check the tracks and make sure they are straight and solid and that the track bed is safe. (I guess) In the old days, they'd be pounding in rail spikes with sledge hammers and then straightening the rails in a synchronized rhythmic movement with long steel rods. Now-a-days they have all sorts of machinery that does the heavy physical work like that. Mark ran some sort of machine with various levers; and he said he noticed his hands would get cold & it would be hard for him to move his hands & levers (that was his second symptom of his ALS).
Bugs! You mean you aren't perfect?? I thought you were! ;-)
Now that you remind me, I remember gandy dancers. They had great songs they sang to keep the rhythm going. and no, I am only practically perfect like Mary Poppins ;)
LOL! I think *All* Babblers are practically perfect, don't you? ;-)
Can't think of a soul who isn't
:-) Very true. I need to go fix supper; BBL (& will talk with grandson about the chat too)
