5:09 am

Sorry shortseer, I am not yet there... :-(

5:36 am

I used to work with the letters around the edges first. But these days i work from the end of the alphabet upwards. (That way i can generally see all the words in the list for the letter i'm working on without having to scroll) Sigh Just can't seem to finish the S's today. *abandons the S's and moves on to the R's *

5:53 am

Had to yell at my kids in between, so I am getting nowhere today. ;-)

5:54 am

Oh, btw, I really hope the 12 SL's are a typo? :-D

5:58 am

Su4 5

5:58 am

The 7's (all two of them!) ----------- R7 ... ornament or badge made of ribbon or silk that is pleated or gathered to resemble a particular flower. R7 ... fishies (suckerfish)

6:01 am

At 05:54 am sprite said... Oh, btw, I really hope the 12 SL's are a typo? :-D For once it's not a typo! :) It's an SL5 worth 12 points

6:02 am

*lol* I make a humble bow to you... *embarassed*. Thought the last numbers stated the number of words...

6:03 am

Oh how could i have missed that Su4 5 when i had the Su4 4 Thanks Atalante :)

6:04 am

*grins* the most obvious words are usually the hardest to find ...

6:18 am

found the other 2 S's one of the is an S7, which confused me as i'd misread the stats and thought there were only 2x 7's in the game. S7 ... adj. relating to the meaning expressed by a morpheme

6:54 am

woot :) got them too ... now, what letter to pick next?

7:10 am

Learn something new every time i babble ... M5/M6 (sing./pl.) African musical instrument consisting of a hollow gourd or wooden resonator and a number of usually metal strips that vibrate when plucked

7:18 am

Yep, was new for me too. Had the 4, but never thought of making the 5, so thanks again!

9:37 am

Done with the same score as shortseer.

9:41 am

clues for the 8s?

9:46 am

For the E8, see shortseer's post of 07.42 am. The i8: related to the i6: Any of two or more substances/nucloids that are alike but differ in properties.

9:47 am

Thanks

9:49 am

The 7's go B44, C36, D44, E40, R36, R28, S52.

11:00 am

Ack, I'm wallowing around in the M's.. this African instrument, I'm positive I know what word it's based on, just can't find an alternate spelling... what are the point amounts for the M5 or M6?

11:07 am

M5 18 M6 30

11:07 am

Thanks!

11:09 am

You're welcome! I only have 10 of the Ms yet, so it's nice I could actually help with that one! :-)

11:10 am

I'm still missing five M's, but I do have: MEx7, Mix5, MOx6.

11:16 am

is there a clue for the s 52?

11:29 am

Finally... All done!! That S7 is a bitch

Must stop trying to make 'dismember'...

12:37 pm

cant find the S7 been looking for a while

1:19 pm

Any clues please for the C/36 and S/52

1:25 pm

There's a clue at 6:18 am for the S, but if anyone else can find another way to describe it, I'd be grateful...it's WAY over my head today!!

2:58 pm

The end of the S7 sounds like a word which means "copy" or "duplicate".. hope that's helpful.

3:05 pm

Thanks! That clue was great! :-)

4:12 pm

I must be as dense as a fog. I am still not finding the S. Can I use as an excuse that I am directing a communiiy show which opens tonite? Nahhhhh

4:23 pm

For the ending, think of someone doing what you're doing and then mispell it.

Don't feel bad, fit1 - I can't get it either. :(

4:34 pm

When I googled the word, the first thing that came up was "s... calculus." No wonder the clue was so cryptic! There's no definition for the word, either.

4:36 pm

Any clues for the 7-letter C word?

4:45 pm

About the S7... I knew it was linguistics-related, having studied linguistics, and guessed it was similar to an S word meaning "meaning in language" (not in today's puzzle, but same word root)

4:59 pm

The s7 ends in the same two letters as the I8....

Thank you, Wendrie; your clue combined with Krys10's clue from earlier made me able to find it.

The C7 could pertain to a certain type of clouds, but it also sounds a lot like a particular liver disease.

7:14 pm

I can blame it all on the flu, but I'm having a heck of a time with vowels today (and R's). Can anyone help me find what I'm missing? aix4 arx7 asx1 emx9 erx5 oix1 omx2 osx1 oux2 rax6 rex6 rix2 rox10

7:41 pm

You're missing 1xAR, 1xEG & 2xET, 2xOR, 3xRA and 1xRE.

8:56 pm

Milly, thank you!!

I can't find the last i-word! I have 2-is, and 1-id.

9:41 pm

I have 2 id's and only 1 is!!

11:56 pm

The i's go id4, id4, is6, is8
