sorry i missed the 1st message i have 4 Y's they all start the same way and between the lot of them, they only use 5 letters of the alphabet i am assuming the second 2 words are variant spellings of the 1st 2 words

Yeah, same one. This puzzle is a stinker :( I'm trying only to play at weekends, and only the shorter ones so they're not too time-consuming but I'm stuck at 36 at present.

I have the rs though, five 4s and a 5. Four start with the same two letters.
Then I miss a 4 with another 2nd letter. Probably pure blindness... have been looking for that one for some time now.

One of the R4s comes before the others, the other comes after. The one that comes afterwards is the last one I found, it's for 7 points and is apparently a hand-woven Scandanavian rug.
unusual list today ... all the "big" ones are in the A's & C's There's only 4 and 5-letter words after that

I'm missing a C and a T, but five minutes ago I was missing two of each, and the two I found were easy words, so perhaps the last two will leap out at me too! Between them they have 30 points as I'm on 52/840
Duh! <slaps forehead> Got the last T by noodling, didn't realise it was an obvious word until it was accepted! Now just one C, which must have 8 points and thus must have four letters.
