good morning all
{{{{{hugs}}}}} spritey
*hugs rose* Hello my dear friend :)
i've been chatting to my neighbour. how are you today?
kinda miserable. We had a scorcher yesterday and I sat outside with terra, in the shade, and still got a nasty sunburn. Today will be even hotter. Not sure where I am gonna be. Prolly in the canoe club somewhere.
sounds good. take the fan with you. and a squirt bottle of water. spray yourself and let the fan create coolth on your skin.
good idea
how was your neighbour doing? (don't dare to ask how you are doing, lol)
also, i was thinking about how you could increase your fluid intake. how about icy poles? frozen ice treats, no milk in them, just flavoured water.
*smug* I drank 2 liters yesterday. Am doing really well in that respect.
she's doing well. this time last year she was very down due to the lack of sunshine. this year she is ever so much better. she is loving coming to church and participating in the various festivals.
good for her!
of course, icy poles are always welcome.
dm
sorry about that
sokay. not in the grid.... loll
lol
how is the donster today?
doing well. we (read Don) have printed 100 service books for Friday night. stapled them and folded them.i did help with the folding...loll
but i finished folding etc the 3 loads of clean laundry i did a few days ago.
wonderful! That will keep the good man occupied and out from under your feet, lol
good girl
i meant to ask... how is Rob's job hunting going? any luck yet? any nbbles?
*nibbles*
nothing yet. He just finished his profile and sent it off to one of the job coaches. And he is temping at another department at his current employer. Doesn't look like that will be an option though. It is a tough battle.
it will be. it's so not what should happen to him.
no, that is the rotten part. He deserves so much better. I am praying that he will be led to the perfect job for him.
i am praying too and so is Don.
thanks, both of you *hug*
final word is a P7. I have the more succinct one. Could you please nudge me into the direction of the other one?
pi7, ant
thanks *thinking*
yay! Thanks honey, that's fireworks.
WTG SPRITE !!!!
thanks :D Have a lovely evening, honey, and a good night. *hugs* to you both and one extra for you alone.
now go and set yourself up in the club house. make yourself really comfy. xoxox
will do!

Bonjour! lt's the "canicule". Thy're predicting temps of 100 for a few days, but l Don't mind heat. l'm more concerned with being unable to walk
Ah, canicule (dog days of Summer)...I looked it up. How are you getting around if you can't walk?
Another small grid and a quiet chat...
Hey Ruby! Impressive measures being taken to help folks deal with the heat!
we need a larger grid for sure.

The French Education minister declared that it is too hot to study. Where was this guy when I was in school? : D
No school of mine was ever air conditioned
My first elementary school (I went to two different ones) had window unit AC right up until the time it closed.
You have a hotter climate than us. Also, went to school in the 50's and 60's
im 4 6
Mr. B grew up in Miami with no AC
My HS was the first school i attended that was not air conditioned. That shocked me. But where i grew up had year-round school, so AC was installed early.
My first elementary school opened in 1933. That explains the lack of central air. It was never renovated much in all the years it was open. It just closed in 2012.
My family didn't have central air until we moved in the 70's. The house we lived in before had one window unit.
The oldest school i attended opened in 1956. The HS got AC in 1988.
our house got central AC in 1983.
i grew up and we had swamp coolers hosed them down when it got to hot
nice. those don't work where i live, alas.
half way
go, go cherylq!
swamp coolers are great if you live in a climate that is dry
Ha ha ha. I just looked up swamp coolers. "They need a hot, dry environment." Nope, not here in the land of 90% humidity.
Nevada
the story is my Grampa had worked in garden and got up a good sweat then set directly in front of the swamp cooler and got pnuemonia
we were always told not to sit too close to it lol
can you really get pneumonia that way?
yeah hot and dry in brownwood Tx
I seriously doubt it Bichon.
depends on how much dust was blowing in on the garden that day I think thats more like it
My mom always told us that you could
That is on the list of "6 Things Your Mom Told You That Aren't True"
That whole "wait 30 minutes after eating to go swimming thing"? Not true either.
was even taught that in swim classes growing up though
by the 80s, when i was learning to swim, we were taught that that was a myth.
yeah I was in swim class in the 60s and 70s lol
The other one that "Mom" said that people still believe is that swallowed gum takes 7 years to digest.
Ooohhh I remember the gum warning!! LOL

i hate cleaning bathrooms
So say we all
i want to rearrange my bedroom but my bedroom bathroom needs to be cleaned in order for it to feel right
I know this dilemma well
I have eighteen left, I'm hungry, and my favorite nearby Tex-Mex place has just entered that magical hour where their lunch specials and happy hour overlap. TL;DR SEE Y'ALL LATER!
*Gets the Clorox Bathroom Cleaner and scrub brushes out for Cos. Brush brush, here - scrub scrub there and a couple of lah-dee-dahs, that's how we clean the bathroom today in the Merry Old Land of Cos.
I would like to rearrange my bedroom too but a) moving a king size bed is a bitch and b) it doubles as a storage room for all the stuff that won't fit in this small abode. I usually save that tedious chore for a long weekend.
scrub helga scrub! im not mad at you helga.. im mad at the DIRT
Joan, our dearest mommie.
its such a shame faye has disowned and pretended that movie does not exist. itll be forever what she'll be known for.
She is stuck in my brain as Diana Christensen from Network, screwing William Holden while she talked about network ratings.
I always think of her as Bonnie Parker.
Okay, a game. Actors/Actresses who are known for one role. Anthony Hopkins/Hannibal Lecter.
Daniel Radcliffe .... (expecto patronum!)

Julie Andrews/Maria Von Trapp
That may be a tie with Mary Poppins
It remains to be seen, but I think Bryan Cranston is pretty locked in to Walter White
Agreed, Molly
Yul Brenner/King Mongkut - The King and I
Then there's the incomparable Meryl Streep, who embodies every role she plays.
Ill always know Bryan as Hal LastNameUnknown
Shirley MacLaine is best known as Shirley Partridge, but she should be for Marian Pruitt in The Music Man. That woman has one hell of a voice.
Cos, you would really like Breaking Bad. I know the meth thing bothers you. And maybe that is for the best.
I think you meant Shirley Jones, who played the mom in that, and was in Music Man. Shirley McLaine received the Oscar (I think) for Sweet Charity.
Oh shit, yes, I meant Shirley Jones.
He's been in a million things, but David Carradine/Caine/Kung Fu
robert englund/freddy krueger

He went to live with Brandy Hall with Bill Baggins. But this hasn't help me with pi7

It's an ant folks. The pi7 is an ant.

Four letter word for what you "take" in a urinal. TAKE OFF THE LAST LETTER then add a three letter word for mad.

Or we can go back to the Haz clue, which seems to be the only one that works...pi7 - three letters of a short drink of something (backwards), I ad **** those who can sew.
Yeah, I left out a letter. I pretty much suck at cluing today. That is why I went back to find the Haz clue.

One thing about Babble, there is always someone to correct you if you mess up a clue. Thank God.

if a dog ar4 wouldnt he be considered an ar4-s+er?
