good morning all
welcome home honey. i didn't see you last flip. i thought you said you weren't going to be he4 for a week when we last spoke. i was devastated to see you had been in chat and me not th5 to give you hugs... so ... {{{{{{{{{{H U G S}}}}}}}}}}
hi sweetie *hugssssssss* Lovely to see you again. Missed you.
how was the heart academy? lovely as ever i bet.
lovely and heartbreaking. We had another terrific week together, but brigitte is deteriorating before our very eyes. Alzheimer is such a devastating disease.
i am finally starting to feel so much better. the torn muscle has been sooo painful. and today is Braxton's 6th birthday. loll... as usual, son Simon has dropped it on us from a great height and invited us around for cake and coffee. i thought i might have until the weekend to shop, now we have to get out of he4 very soon and go buy the little fela something.
glad you are feeling better honey.
alzheimer is the pits. it breaks everybody's heart. except the sufferer. which is fortunate in one way.
not totally true. Sometimes, she does realise and that is the most heartbreaking of all.
phew rose cant believe that gorgeous big baby is now 6 years old - remember you posting pictures of him at birth
Not so much when they see it coming.
re muscle... i have been taking magnesium, valium and endone just to keep moving.
hi ursh and amelu :)
*waves* Insomnia strikes again...
ikr? urshy... and now that he has started school he has become VERY outgoing.
so true, amelu. First she has seen it coming, and now it hits her every now and again. Plus her being lost inside herself and in the real world is hard too. Even if she does not realise she has alzheimer, she realises something is very wrong.
I agree that awful disease does distress the sufferer cos sometimes they remember and then its gone - my Mom once found my stepfather really weeping and he could not tell her why - it was very sad
poor amelu... insomnia is so tiring... not trying to be funny honey. i have bouts of it when i am due for my 12 weekly infusion therapy.
Hi all
exactly, ursh :( And Hein lost his partner and gained a child, in a way. Not easy either.
hyya lizgirl {{hugs}}
*hugs Liz* Hello dear one! Good to see you. How have you been?
Good thanks - hope all's well with you both.
and when you all have finished having a go at me... i did say... FORTUNATE IN WAY....good-bye
am okayish. My back gave out second day of the heart-academy, has been a lady dog ever since. Looks like today is slightly better though.
Not nice. Sympathy, sprite. back pain isn't good.
ehhhhrrr rose, what do you mean?
Hiya Sprite! Good to "see" you again. Sorry to hear your back is being nasty.
thanks Liz. It will be okay, am taking it easy and have indulged in a few muscle relaxant pills.
*hugs Kam* Hello dear one, how have you been?
Neither insomnia nor alzheimer's/dementia is a picnic. *knock on something* So far insomnia is my bane... Lost mum to the other. Thanks for the thoughts, granny... This too shall pass...
insomnia is nasty. *sings amelu a sweet lullaby*
It's been too hot, other than that, doing ok. Seeing dentist tomorrow...dreading that, but necessary.
arghhh dentists... I feel your dread. Will think of you, honey.
Short visit for me today. Hope your back soon feels better, sprite. Hugs to all.
Fireworks! Yay!
Thank you, sprite. I think I'm gonna go stare at the inside of my eyelids on that note. Having to be up and at work after one of these nights is also not a picnic, lol. Unfortunately, melatonin does not do the trick for me... *rolls eyes*… Will be back later. Y'all have a most outstanding time of knocking this one out. I'm 1/2 way so it seems (for the most part) pretty straight forward as far as words go. Enjoy! May you all be bessed!
I hope you will pop off to sleep soon, amelu.
wtg marksdolly!
Rose, come back! No one was picking on you on purpose! You're being overly sensitive I think.
*hugs Liz* Have a lovely evening.
Sleep well, Amelu
I sent her an email too, Kam. Not agreeing with her is very different from having a go at her, which I am sure nobody did.
fireflies. *hugs* to my friends and to you all a blessed day and a peaceful night. Good luck at the dentist's, Kam, my prayers go with you. *leaves hug in chog for rose to find* And to you all a blessed day and a peaceful night.
lol twice... must mean it ;)
Thanks spritey! Hope your back calms down soon.
Hugs!

We finally had lots of rain
yay, i guess?
we've had so much we've been under flash flood watches and warnings for a good while.
we got a little overnight as well. haven't checked the rain gauges. the normally swampy part of our yard was cracking, so we did need some.

I need it. Daughter is on her way home at the moment. Roommate thinks someone is in the house. Police on the way. Waiting to hear WTH!
Oh my, I'm sorry. I hope everything works out okay.
It's very odd. Could be roomie overreacted, but it all sounds pretty fishy. Hopefully the police will have it sorted shortly.
I hope so. It's scary when things like that happen to your kids.
she's scared but smart enough not to go near the place without the police, who should be on their way.
Update...police are there and she and her roomie are down the street waiting to get the all clear.
I hope it was a false alarm. Less scary than someone breaking into the house.
Shocker...not a break in. The roomie, who owns the house with her husband, often doesn't lock the door. Small townhome complex which is gated. Her section may have 10 townhomes. So if someone got it, he scaled the wrought iron fence and just walked in the home.
My daughter is scared and pissed all at once. :)
All clear! The police made sure no one was there. Whoever was there earlier is long gone. Husband is home, women are safe. WooHOO!
Yay for good endings
Wine for everyone!
nbt,nbs and I found my first car in the grid.

Thanks!
evening/morning all! wanted to share a gem from my job hunt today, I think this group will appreciate
the lead sentence of a job posting for the parent company of a large for-profit higher education institution includes a parenthetical "(title commiserate with experience)"
oh my. that's horrifying and beautiful in equal measure.
I do indeed commiserate with the person who ends up in that job.
I think of it as "unintentionally accurate"
It's not even "salary". It's just "title". The poor pathetic salary is already decided, apparently.
they are looking for either a senior manager or a director
I wonder if they're also looking for a proofreader?
I will probably pass. The for-profit universities feel a little skeevy to me anyway
They are. I mean, they *can* work out well for some, but really, just . . . no.
that's exactly it. for folks in some career-switch or go-for-promotion scenarios they can work, but a lot of people get pressured into more than they need or can afford
(not that "regular" universities or state schools or even community colleges are immune from this)
. . . .I see that Babble tells me I've entered the 8, but for the life of me I couldn't tell you what it is.
ai 8/40
*scrolls up* Yep, there it is, I definitely entered that one.

This is a tough grid, still 84 to go
