good morning all
Hi and hugs, Sprite
Hope all's well with you.
hi Liz *hugs* I am okay, overall, thanks. How are you and your beloved doing?
We're fine. Just booked flights for a family wedding next year in the UK. Flying visit though.
wow, that is quite a journey for a wedding!
Exciting and looking forward to the wedding but could well do without going to the UK again so soon.
It's very important to us.
I think it is wonderful you do that. Wish we had a Scotty to beam you there and back though :D
There are 4 weddings that we want to go to over the next few years. 2 are already on the cards i.e. engaged already and then there will be 2 more. 2 in the UK and 2 in Canada. These are really important to us.
you will be travelling a lot then.
Well we've only got a fixed date for one. Hopefully the 2nd won't be until 2021 and like I said, the others not on the horizon yet.
as long as they give you plenty of time to plan, and they spread it out a little :D
Planning's not the issue! Saving up is!
sure is! Flying is darn expensive.
Sure is and the exchange rate is rubbish and getting worse right now.
still, would be great if you could be present at all of them, and forever enjoy the memories (and pictures).
We really hope to be. Family is important to us.
if the relations are good, family is so very important. I am sorry our families are not like that at all. But I would do about anything for my friends, so I guess that is another kind of family :)
That's the important kind.
You know the old cliche - you can choose ....
my sister's 50th birthday will be in september and we are invited to a dinner with both my father and my mother there... I am kinda glad I am in germany that weekend and can't possibly make it.
so true. Friends are the family one chooses, right?
I'm sure there are other weddings of the children of friends that we'd love to go to but not like these ones though.
I understand how uncomfortable that would've been for you but it's a shame if you have a good relationship with your sister.
On a different note, I've just started reading the Deadman's Cross books - enjoying it.
It being the one I'm reading because I see I wrote books!
it is never easy between us. She still has to come visit us in the caravan, so that is since february. And I asked her to come and visit me when I was sitting with two ankles in plaster and she said no time, and never even called.
lol yes :D
OK - so not so close.
no, I guess the conclusion is inevitable and I am about ready to accept the fact and let it go. Just enjoy her company when we do visit and for the rest focus on my friends.
Sounds like a good idea.
so it is great to hear you talk about your family! Makes me feel good, that some families are worth travelling all over the world for.
I think mine is, so I guess I'm lucky.
it is a blessing, and worth putting effort into for sure.
of course, I found a soul sister in australia, who has travelled over the world just to be together, so I am not complaining :D
Like I said before - you can choose ...
you are so very right
Anyway, got to go. Lovely to catch up. Hugs and have a great weekend.
you too! *hugs* for the both of you
to you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night. *leaves hug in chog for rose to find*
bonjour, everybody

The jeans clue clearly includes the 4 value consonant! But where does it come in the word pls
re*jeans
allyn i just figured out i wsa using the wrong jeans name but i don't understand it after that either
i took out the i and put in an e but that only makes a re 6/7
leave the i
The only word I can find with that combo needs an A!! Feeling dim
is it supposed to pl?
got the re + jeans, but there are no more e's to add to the plural
Yes I have a re6/27
My mistake, there is a P in between re and the jeans extension...I thought people would get it from how the letters connect
re* + the taxes word.
fw
I'm going to quit cluing. It's getting too confusing in here. Good luck everyone.
ty molly

waiting to get in to the shower...busy days in multiple gardens...
v esseled
Well, at least you're not making corny jokes. Blessings to you Bea for working so hard to feed people.
Corny jokes? That's Ru's job.=) Thanks, Molly.
hey, if ru can do it, any of us can
I don't know...He's pretty punny...
Oh, he's being Rusurped
LOL! He won't like that!
Hot water is MINE! Back later!
Hiyas, kiddos!
And how is the stellar recuperating woman?
Had to give up the crutches, Molls. My hands hurt so bad. I've taken to crawling, which is working out fairly well. Good to get eye level with the pets.
Crutches are a bitch. Can't they get you one of those one-legged scooters?
I now have the knee scooter. Which makes life easier, but I have three levels in my house. So, I keep the scooter on the main level. Hubby just purchased a portable ramp (via EBay). Once that's set up, I can safely ambulate from the kitchen to the garage, so I can get to my car, so I can get to work, etc.
Well, I'm glad you have some options. And I'm glad you have a husband who is seeing you through this. Continued good thoughts for quick healing.
It's amazing how one little operation can screw up your whole life.
Thank you, Molly. That is greatly appreciated.
We're going out to dinner tonight. So, it'l be nice to escape the house. I'll just wheel around the parking lot of the restauran for amusement - make hubby nervous. ** insert evil laugh here **
do the 9's start with re?
lente
oop did it again sorry
Yes, Deeha.
And the beat goes on, drums keep pounding rhythm to the brain...La dee dah dee dee
Sonny and Cher!
I had an album of theirs on our console stereo that I wore OUT!
Last word has me stumped. El7/32?
NM. Got it.
was about to say an old church board babe... or something like that. :D
Care to share, Judi... anybody???
mine was a hint of sorts - I often hear "respect your el*ers" - well, a female "el*er" would be? (ends in a woman's garment)
and I think an "el*er" is another name for some unofficial church leaders. Thus my first hint.
(my, I do go on, don't I?) :\
don't forget the D rbud :D
You totally lost me, Rbud!! But I think that’s more my fault than yours....
haha. left the D out because it's part of the word.
Ping!!! The penny dropped! Thank you.
El + women's wear
Wow! My own dimness sometimes impresses even me!!
hope it makes cents now soodle
In my defense, I’m babbling by the dashboard light at Dublin Airport (apologies to Meatloaf). Awaiting a much delayed flight. 🙄🙄🙄
oooh, where you off to?
or waiting on someone...
Waiting, Rbud. (Always waiting.....).
<--- (wishes she were headed for Dublin airport!)
Think again Rbud.!!! Weather appalling. (Hence delayed flights). August in Ireland.... rain, high winds, more rain - The same every year, and every year we feign surprise & complain about it! Sheesh!!
clue for el8 please?
it's a number...
it follows
el 7/40
Thanks...Too many distractions...
Count yourself lucky Bzznb. I don’t have enough distractions! 🙄
I am usually appreciative of my busy life, Soodle. But this week has been an unusually hectic one with all my volunteer wrok.
that and zucchini cuddling ... .
You got that right! I'm not sure what I'm going to do with Zoey Zucchini yet.
I was thinking of carving her like a jack o lantern...
okay, now that i finally see that "respect your el5s" is a word here, I see why ru poked fun at me for the "d" - somehow I didn't see it earlier. Babble blindness...
you could make a nice little zucchini boat for local squirrels to float the river
F'n squirrels! I'm not so kind to them...
Okaaaaay.... I clearly missed the Zucchini cuddling conversation. But Hey!!! Whatever turns you on!! 🤣🤣🤣
grate zucchini and freeze it with all good future intentions, then forget about it, like I do, haha. So much unmade zucchini and banana bread in my second freezer...
LOL! I harvested over 100 pounds of zucchini this season. And that is conservative.
Yes, we have grated and frozen, given them away, made bread, cakes, fritters, patties. I've proccessed 12 pints of zucchini salsa...I can't think of a darn thing left to do with it!
that's the thing about zucchini - it's a big overproducer, haha
one plant can feed a neighborhood
I've pulled all of them except one plant. I'm feeding the squash bugs with that one.
Same with the cucumbers. Two hundred pounds of cucumber is enough for anyone!
Don't have a 9, but I'm done for the day with 54 left...until next time!
100 pounds of zucchini, I can't even imagine.
Ru, people seem to never get your comment about how they clued the whole word except for one letter : D
i know.. i keep trying though
it drives me a bit batty when people clue like ti + go4 less the vowel at the end
Sadly, I don't think people realize that they are giving 4 letters of the clue like that. Which might as well be just spelling the word out.
*4 letters of the word
really? guess you all missed where I realized what I did... but whatever... glad I could be such a source of hilarity... (4:23 PM)
no I saw you did RB.. most people miss my joke.. that's what Molly was saying
firewords! thanks lickety for my last 30, bichon for the re9/78 that was my very last.
hello friends. god almighty - typing on an old laptop, and you would think I had never seen a keyboard before...cannot get my hands right

i was just looking at your profile, saw you liked Dalziel & Pascoe - just the books or did you enjoy the show also?
never saw the show(s)...
mk
i saw the show but didn't read the books
but the guy who played Dalziel died in abject poverty, which was super sad and unfair. they should have paid him better.

YOU KNOW WHAT, RUBY? I LOVE YOU. :)
6 to go
NOW, THE WOLF IS CRYING; WISH ME LUCK; I4M BRAVINNG THE STAIRS
uno
fw
tell me you're doing that with the list
cause i cannot find the last several words that fast ever
without the list
oh, yeah, i always use the list, but not till I find at least 2/3rds of the words
i go for 90%, but if it's a real hard grid i'll settle for 80-85%
pus, lately, i always save one easy word for my last word LOL
this one i've gotten over 95% though! good grid.
plus, not pus (!)
7 left, from 7 different tiles
wto hurshy!
i REALLY love that you accidentally said pus, though
wtg! (can't type anymore)
because we have a funny family joke that involves the word pus
want to hear the story?
hey, glad you liked it
go4it
ok, so my grandfather, couple years ago, had one of those teddy bear shaped bottles of honey at the table and was having trouble opening it, idk why because i think he's used those all his life...
so then my mom takes it from him and squints at the lid and goes, "P-U-S, it says 'pus'"
LOL
so then i roll my eyes, take it from my mom, and say, "P-U-S-H, it says 'PUSH'", and open it.
LMOA
LMAO
so now my sister and i are always referring back to it
i'll bet the lid was cement on by loads of old honey
nah, i think it was a fairly new bottle actually
Pus, mom! Pus!
unfortunately, she has not really much ability to laugh at herself, and always thinks you're laughing at her, when if she would just laugh too, we'd be laughing with her.
In my family we had a bunch of those tiny little fork-like things for gripping ears of corn. My mom kept them in an old plastic box that said on it, "for infections of the ear" so we always called those things "ear infectors" LOL
lol
every gamily has its own weird words and customs
gamily? OY
ok, getting list for the 7
first one, not a fish, woohoo
second one, fish, ok, 1/2 so far
third one, not really a fish, 2/3
go go go hurshy ! ! !
fourth one, kinda fishy, 2/4
it did twist in a weird, way, in my defense
this whole game is fishy LOL
fifth one, very fishy, 2/5
sixth one, plural fish, 2/6 and now i cannot come back and win the series, the grid has beaten me
what what what??
you know, like in basketball or whatever, a seven game series, if you're down 2/5 you could still come back and win if you win the last two games, but if you're down 2/6 then it's over
nope, ya lost me there
i had 7 words left, right?
my aim is for them not to be fishy
if they are fishy the grid wins and i lose
i guess so
if they are not fishy i win
your rules do not resemble our Earth rules LOL
but once i got to only 2 unfishy out of 6, there's only one more word, so even if that word is not fishy, the grid has 4 and i have 3 and therefore wins the series
IT IS JUST LIKE BASKETBALL!!!!
yeah, okay, don't blow a gasket LOL
for the record, last one was NOT fishy, 3/7 for me, humbly crown the grid with a wreath of laurels
you're one to talk, you lot will say "EXTERMINATE" at the drop of a hat ;)
you betcha
ladies...
'sup temple!
chillin after w
a night of music
need 12 but am clueless on several
like re 9
and the final le6
two re9s. they were well clued, just before the chat cutoff
le6/27 = a bunch of bulwaks to keep the river from overflowing
re9/66 = re + to make believe (minus the letter R) and plural
i tried levees but it is not there
other re9 = re + consonant + the le6 just clued
ty
spell it wrong
re 9/78
NADE JT
do you need another clue?
afor re 9/78? indeed.
okay, re9/78 = member of congress (3-letter abbrev) + popular brand of jeans (4 letters) + plural
There's,nothihg like eating exactly what you cavrWonderful! 3 slices with sea salt butter, 3egg yolk
milk and, most of all, real maple syrup!
