Hi all
ding ding ding!
some very interesting sixes today, too
finished
Congrats, Ru
some unusual sixes for sure
good morning
good night everyone .. hi rubes
I'm waiting or the aide to arrive and help me go downstairs
Hi Ruby and sleep well Ru
*hugs* to you, rubyfoo
This is very Pleasant, seeing all you sleepyheads and greeting the e**y risers
How are you doing, Ruby?
hmm, the 8 hasn't been called
If I had it ....
and if i had a hammer...
:)
Mornings are difficult until meds kick in
Hope they kick in soon for you.
amen, sister
BBL - have a good day / evening or night everyone.
darwing. my wittle darwing kitten (pictured, left)
That kitten is adorable
yes, she is. she still is, even though she is a grown-up sophisticated lady cat. she is petite and dainty.
I'e love add a cat to the household, but I Don't think the dogs wouod accept one
we fight a lot about whether she is grown-up-sophisticated-lady-cat or darling-suckle-baby-roo
i am a proponent of the latter view, but her self-image relies on the former
There's a neighbor-cat who stands at the gate andmocks them
lol
"Behold, I stand at the door and mock..." -cat bible
well, odds-wise, the 8 has the best chance of being an A, since that's what 3 of my last 5 words are
She even comes on the property and slinks past them
saucy
exactly
i like saucy cats
hmm, i wonder if "sassy" is a corrupted version of "saucy"... time for an etymology check
it IS! i love it when i guess right
bravo!
good morning all
hiya spritey
hello my darling. xoxox
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend, how are you today?
hiya hursh :)
at least i'm not blue (colour, not my mood) and you honey?
pretty good, all in all. Bloodwork came back and all shortages are remedied.
good
good
i mean... that's good to hear.
cedar
lol :)
sorry
nice to see you back here :) I love babbling with my bestie
we babble while we may... only it's august.
we babble while we may we babble every day we babble through the year we babble there and here
lolll... just realised... may.... august.....both are months but the words mean something else completely. you just got to love the english language.
so true.
we went over and visited my brother, his wife and our niece yesterday. sheesh... that little gal is so full of energy. she'd give a bullet train a good run for its money.
oh wonderful, rose!
did you have a good time with your brother too?
sure did. he is such a lovely soul. and Irene is lovely too. at the mo' they are in a small two bedroom apartment whilst their whole house is being reno'd and extended.
am so glad you had a real good visit.
we went down to Station pier which is where the big ships come in. had fish and chips near there. the fish so fresh you could almost swear it was still swimming.. then over to the beach where we all grew up. lovely to watch Grace running bare foot where we had once done.
priceless :)
how is everyone doing? i know you said you had addressed your deficiencies.... what have you been up to?
mostly busy with work, planning of the tiny house and oa. And helping rob in his struggle to find new work.
and how is the donster doing?
really well. the new natural remedy seems to be helping a lot.
that is awesome, honey. Good thinking.
lolll...thinking..... yeah.... it sort of hit me how i used to give the poor old alcoholics in my care, multiple vitamin B injections to help with their cognitive functions... then thought i wonder...and its working.
don't tell don it were alcoholics that inspired you, LOL
whoot.... just found the 9 with no prompts..
nice one!
and there goes the 8.... on a roll here
gooooo rose
there, done. not as fast as ruru or probably you. but finished in a decent time.
wtg rose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's not a ra4. And we all have our strong suits. You find biggies faster than I do.
and about this here diabetes thingy. how does pre-diabetic sound to you? it makes sense to me. surely any doc diagnosing a new diabetic would be trying meds and/or diet modifications. to me, that's the only thing that makes sense.
and about this here diabetes thingy. how does pre-diabetic sound to you? it makes sense to me. surely any doc diagnosing a new diabetic would be trying meds and/or diet modifications. to me, that's the only thing that makes sense.
gaaadddd. back to the twitchy finger *sigh*
yes, absolutely
i know its not a ra4 honey. not trying to beat anybody. it's a personal thing for me.
oh, that is another piece of good news here, btw. I have perfect bloodsugar ratings. Have been having them ever since the operation, so that is 3 years of bslvls as if I never had diabetes.
and without medication
i am handicapped you know. only two of my fingers work the keyboard.... lollll
but yes, diet modifications, exercise, and if needed, medication
lol @ handicapped
pre-diabetic would be with elevated lvls but not within the diabetes range yet... serious warning sign.
oh, and i won some free tickets to see an outdoor performance,by the australian ballet company, of Giselle. that's in october. Grace is coming over to stay for the night so that we can take her to see it.
fireflies
oh that is awesome! She will love it. So will you, lol.
WTG SPRITE !!!!
time for me to start getting ready for the meeting. Love you, honey, and am so very glad to see you back here :D *hugs* to you and Don, and one extra for you alone. Bye hursh!
hugs to you all as well.enjoy your day.xoxox

Is there really a ca6/30 or is that a typo for ca6/39

ah ty
I was trying to make stuff up with the j
there is a ca6/30
ok
thank you peri
I have a ca 6/30, one who ca 5/18
and now I found 4 more with the gerund. bojazz's clue is a 5 for 1!
hold on, one more
TY, I hadn't noticed the gerund yet :)
it's easy to miss today IMO
and there's another one!
stats for the i?
nm
in 6/24
I just found it myself
'morning
I did a peri
I do that a lot too
gm, welki
Hi welki
found the 9!
hey sukee - how're you liking the new blue jays this season - what a lot of changes!
It sure is different, I have a lot of hope for the future.
I'm watching last nights game right now, they were out west.
well done, hokie - i haven't gotten far enough to even look for something longer than 5 or 6 letters
What are the stats for the 9
my only fear is that they'll trade the rising stars, like vlady and bo
seems to be a pattern with the jays - i still miss donaldson
They have control of them for the next 5 years, they will not trade them.
it just came to me. re9, so to do one of the 7s again (if you want more clues just ask)
and martin ... and all the others
how is vlady doing? we were in canada when he debuted and it was big, big news.
I miss Donaldson, Jose, EE, Tulo...
He is doing good, Bichette is doing better.
yeah, lots of talent gone by the wayside
I found the 9 :)
I grew up in a big braves household but my kids don't like baseball, so we are kind of out of the loop. had never heard of vlady but we saw lots of stories about him.
Baseball is the only sport I really watch.
we couldn't get over how much bigger he is now than when they first signed him. he is one year older than my oldest son and about twice his size.
i blame gibbons for the jays' nosedive - not only a poor manager, but a slob on the field
He is a big boy
I actually liked Gibby. The team were just aging.
and wtg on the 9, sukee! I'm not sure about the 8.
montoyo looks professional and engages the team when things go well (and badly)
The players loved Gibby too though.
But, Charlie is definitely best for doing a rebuild.
hokie, my dad was a big baseball fan. for a while, we lived near shea stadium and it was great going to games (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth) - people really got into it - scorecards, singing the songs, eating the hot dogs and crackerjacks
i never got the scorecard 'thing,' but my father would fill his out as if he was going to be tested on it
:)
I still love going to games but my kids think it's torture. they each only played a couple of seasons of baseball but played soccer the whole time. I think they like that soccer is a set amount of time whereas baseball may never end.
I let the commentators tell me the stats :)
I did some scorekeeping in my time ;)
I played softball pretty much my whole childhood and my two older brothers always played baseball.
we used to have the calgary cannons - loved going to the games, but then they moved to alberquerque (i think)
was that a minor league team?
i would have loved to be one of the fans at last nights jays' game in seattle - seems like SO much fun to make that trip (especially when they win!)
yeah - AAA
It does look like fun.
There are about 4 times as many Toronto fans there as Seattle.
we have AAA here in Charlotte with a beautiful new stadium, but I've only been to one game. need to go more.
i think, if we lived in toronto, we'd find a way to buy season tickets
correction: if we lived near ANY MLB stadium, we'd find a way :D
where I grew up we have a very minor Mets team, it is rookie league so below single A. but we saw some good players play there, like Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden.
Here too, only think i miss about living in Toronto.
thing
heh - my license plate when i lived back east was MRSMET
:D
Now Stroman is a Met.

ty

hi min! i found it
first re 6?
actor potus with different last vowel
re + ag4
ty samantha
don't forget the IN
lol ru -- was thinking the same thing
I tailored that clue to my audience.
ah ha.. i wondered samantha
ca 5/18?
we don't need no steenkin' ca6s -- change the first letter
I was wondering earlier what kinds of clues people prefer. Ones like re + ag4 which give 4 of the 6 letters, or ones that make you think more. I like the ones that are not so "spell it out". It's more of a challenge. But I get tailoring the clues to your audience.
rhymes with what boy scouts earn
Done. Anyone want clues before I go?
ty cyber and samantha
brownie points :D
lol, ru. You get them for cluing. :)
never heard that word before
Olly olly oxen free!
ca 5 before the ca 6/39?
there is a ca 6 before the ca 6/39
its a ca 6/24
Add a vowel to the ca4 before it
That ca 5/12 word is ca 4/5 word plus a vowel MLFAN17.
good morning ms minver
the ca 4 i have ends in e?
Hello rururocks! How are you doing? I am enjoying a nice sunny day in Vermont. I've never babbled outside before.
i mean the ca 5/12 i have ends in e
i have
but adding a vowel does nothing
I went all the way back to the last ca5 before the ca6/39, mlf. If you want the word *just* before the ca 6/39, it's a ca6, not a ca5. WHich are you looking for?
i'm fine minver.. i have to work today but other than that
i will have to go back to vermont some day.. for the fall colors
i asked for ca 6/24
right before the 6/39
ca 6/23 not dogged
i've been forbidden to mention felines
That ca 6/24 word is past tense of a feline MLFAN17.
ruru lots of places on the east coast are beautiful for fall colors:)
You asked for a 5. The ca6 is the one ruru just clued for you.
fireworks!

Well done.
hello
Hello TO.
how are you?
I'm grand, lovely sunny day today.
here as well. breezy, about 70F.
one of those days that foreshadows the end of summer.
*!*~*!* had to list for the last 14 -- knew a lot of them too :(
We're starting to see the leaves turn already, chestnuts are always the first to go.
yay nan!
And it's going to be a bumper crop of blackberries.
my yellow poplar is ailing. not sure if it's the crazy weather or disease.
hoping the leaves will be turning in the maritimes soon -- we are headed there the week after next.
home garden is crapl between wet spring, dry speels. oh and deer. lots of them.
don't know which are worse, deer or rabbits - both are major pests
do you live in an interface area, TO?
have both is mass quantities. tired of picking up after deer.
nan, i 'm not familiari with that term.
bordering on woods or open fields?
no.
it's because of development.
yet you have a lot of deer in town?
yes. suburban area
we used to live in an interface area and the deer thought our lovely shaded yard was their napping ground.
I guess the grass was more comfortable to lie on than pine needles.
not to mention all those lovely shrubs and flowers available to nibble on
i just wish they would stop eaving their calling card.
yes that would have been nice
and pulling begonias out otf the ground then spitting them out
we live in a gated community now, but there is a mountain wildlife park only 2 streets away, so we have the occasional vist by a deer that has jumped the fence.
they are all over. one was standing bu my mailbos at 10 pm
afraid of nothing
haz, it's nice to see you.
yes they seem to be very tame. I used to take a rake to chase them out of the yard -- they would go just over the property line then turn around and look at me as if to say is this far enough, lady?
on my way -- hagd everyone :)
Bye, cybernan.
bye, nan
Anything new with you, TO?
We'll catch up some other time. Heading into the kitchen. Bye for now!
C's Composted! 6 left
Min is kicking word butt and taking names. : D
Hello MollyL!How are you doing today? Welcome to grid.
Hi Min. I'm good. I hope you are doing well.
I am enjoying some rest and relaxation in Vermont now.
G's Groomed! 1 left
Good for you. Put your feet up and enjoy the relaxing life.
Well it's about to end though because I am on my way to my sister's house 2 take care of my 2 young nephews for the next three days. Will be getting up at 6:00 in morn.
Wow, 6 AM and taking care of two young boys. You are a good sister.
I do it every year. It is great birth control for me. LOL!!!
tomorrow's the first day of school for my 11th grader. I will set an alarm to get up and see him off for this first day only. :D
Hello hokie carla! How are you doing? Welcome to chog.
Good luck to your son in 11th grade.I hope he does well.
I need to go I have to drive to my sister's house now.BBL
hi & bye, have a good time with the nephews!
To those complaining about deer droppings, they are very good fertilizer. Collect them and put them in your compost. Quite non-toxic and great for the garden. They are nice, dry little nuggets, so easy to rake up. If you're finding wetter stuff, it ain't from deer.
Help ok with the ai/8
Please!
Great clue from earlier. Add a vi in front to make a word for dressing for salad.
stats for the i?
in 6/24
got it ty Molly
Not an easy word, or a word that makes sense.
33 to go
I have ja 4/10 and ja 6/41, what are the stats for the other two.
ja4/9 x 2
and just got a ja 4/9
ok, one more. TY
and got the other.
Could I have a clue for the 8 please?
vin + ai8 dressing
Am I on the wrong grid. There is no v
you don't use the prefix, it's just to help you get the weird ai8 word
No but pretend the Vin is in front and you should get it.
finish the word with vin in it, the 8 has the rest
firewords! inspector ga6/33 was my last. thanks Molly, lickety and all cluers
Thanks got it, it is weird
And the ai 6/24 has most of the 8

most are wa, one is wi
Yes sorry last one is wi4
I'm missing the last wa4. I'll go looking now
A lightbulb may go off when you find it
Funny day. I went out to lunch today and as I do so often I forgot my phone.I got home about and had only been in 5 minutes when there was a loud banging on the door. Two policemen who jumped back and said oh you are all right then?? Apparently my daughter had been phoning and phoning, she phoned everyone she could think of including my sister in South Africa and panicked so called the police to check me out!!!
Can't believe I hadn't seen that one
aand with that I need to go. Happy babbling everyone!
Bye zoo, thank you
Is your daughter the nervous type?
Good grief, Deeha! Nice that daughter was looking out for you though :-)
*poof*
she must be!!! She might have known I'd forgotten my phone I either forget it or let the battery run out! Think she was just having a bad day!!
I should be happy she worries about me I didnt realise she did!!
That seems a bit extreme though. Although, that happened to me once with with my mother. I came home late from work after stopping for a drink with co-workers and she had been calling everyone.
anyway, I have to go and start making dinner.

Those songs that perpetually played from your TV when you kids were little tend to stick with you.
Jem and The Holograms was a HUDGE one at our house...
That must be what the girls were watching while the boys were watching He-Man and Transformers.
We also watched a lot of TMNT and Care Bears...
*Had to look up TMNT
Okay, enough nostalgia and words for me today...Until next time. folks...

Good evening! I had a few minutes earlier & got 24 words; I actually have some quiet time to myself (for a change!) & am going to try & finish this grid (if I'm lucky) tonight.
Hi there Nef! How are you doing today? Welcome to grid
Hi Min! I'm doing okay; how are you doing these days?
Have been saving my last word since 1:20 this afternoon
Did you get a vacation yet this summer?
I am visiting family in Vermont before I go back to work.
I would go nuts waiting that long to get fireworks! You have so much patience! :-)
Will you be relaxing during that visit; or is it a bit stressful (families can wear on some people)
I had a relaxing time with my parents. Now I am with my sister.I'll be babysitting my nephews for the next 2 days.
Babysitting nephews isn't stressful, but it is a lot of work.
Oh-oh. How old are they? Do they listen to Auntie Min?
I have to wake up at 7:30 and I'm NOT a morning person!
Oh, My! I'm not a morning person& I feel your pain!
I'm here if you need clues. I also posted a story in profile
Thanks. I'm working on that H right now; could you give me Just the stats please?
ha 6/39
Thanks. I got it!
yw
That gave me several more words too. :-)
Took me awhile to discover gerund ending in grid as well
yeah; once I found it; I'm finding a number of words with it.
Half way! (Grandson keeps interrupting me
I am sorry Nef,but I must go to bed. Good luck finishing!
Good night, Min! At least get your fireworks before you leave though!
Oh shoot! I forgot, I still have to enter my last word so I will be here until I find my last word. I hope it is quick!
what does it start with & how long is it?
I am finished! I have fireworks!ac7/32 was my final word
Nef, do you need any more clues before I log out of here
YAY, Min!!! WTG!!!
Nope; the clue you gave me has really helped a lot! Good Night Dear Min! Sleep well
Until next time Nef. Good luck finishing the grid. {POOF}
Until next time Nef. Good luck finishing the grid. {POOF}
I just stepped outside to watch real fireworks. The MN State Fair just shot off their evening fireworks. We live about 4 miles from the fairgrounds & can see (& hear) the fireworks each night during the fair (which lasts 12 days; until Labor Day).It's11:15 here now; I think that during the week they go off at 10P instead of 11P. I plan to have fireworks in Babble tonight too!
