Yep. Gaelic is Old Irish. A quirky language. How anybody is supposed to know words from it is baffling.
The most inscrutable thing in the world is how words were selected for inclusion in the Enable dictionary. I was inclined to think they were chosen by casting lots, but my experience leads me to believe that chance is too straightforward a process to describe the results.
Gaelic is a difficult language to learn. The words are usually spoken very differently from the spelling. I tried for about a year and got frustrated with it.
