un8
Is the re8/9 a combo?
Still here medusa?
good morning all
hi nan
Hi Nan. You are up early.
Hi Bichon.
jet lag hangover :)
Where were you?
in the maritimes for the last 2 weeks
hi Scrabs
Oh, my friend is in Newfoundland right now.
we didn't get that far -- parts of NS, NB and PEI
lots of great experiences, including our first hurricane
Dorian came up that way?
yes -- we were in Halifax at the time - not in an area that was badly hit, though. The Annapolis Valley was hit hard as was parts of PEI. Lots of areas with no power or water for 3 or 4 days and lots of trees down.
Oh, dear.
hey y'all. not liking these 55 r's. I have 34 and feel like I've exhausted my guesses.
the maritimers are a hardy lot and go out of their way to help in an emergency. We had a great time in spite of soeme of the attractions we had intended to visit being closed.
how strong was it by the time it reached up there?
We were on PEI when the hurricane warning came. Too bad, was really nice before that. We had to leave for NB. It was no better here so we drove to Maine. No better there, so we drove home
I would like to get up there some day--drive to Maine and then north.
We went to Acadia in 2016. Beautiful there.
have not been to that part of Canada
Cavendish beach was particularly hard hit, Bichon as well as St. Peters
I was in Acadia NP in Sept 2017 and I cannot wait to return for hiking and kayaking.
We camped at a KOA right on the water. So nice.
We really loved our trip there.
We stayed in a B & B in Bar Harbor. That place was so crowded and busy.
it is a beautiful part of Canada -- not for city lovers, but great if you love the seashore and rural settings.
Yay
Bar Harbor was not super crowded when we were there.
We ater great lobster
We arrived on the Friday of Labor Day weekend and it quieted down Monday evening when people departed. Also, those cruise ships drop off 5000 people for the day.
We mountain biked on the carriage roads. What a treat to not worry about traffic.
Wow, didn't realize cruise ships stop by there. We were there in the middle of summer and I don't remember it being crazy.
oh yes -- lobster and fresh scallops -- something we don't get here.
A waiter at that Irish restaurant told us about the incoming tourist ships.
We rode our bikes on the carriage roads as well. I did find it kind of annoying that they weren't marked that well and we couldn't find a map, so we rode down this big downhill only to come to a trail marked private so then we had to go back up that big hill.
cruise ships - a blight on the face of the earth (unless I'm on one) :D
We had troubles too, because there was a detour which was not well-marked so we went on the road on the east side of Jordan Pond and I thought I would get flattened by a truck.
I think that would be my only complaint about that park
We got an early start every morning so we could find parking as parking is at a minimum. And we went to the western part of MDI for kayaking one day.
I remember climbing a very steep hill with hand bars attached in the rock. Son scampered up while the 3 of us barely made it
We didn't ever have trouble with parking
Beehive Trail has lots of iron bars and ladders. Scary but we did it.
Which month were you there, carla?
we were there mid-July
Wow, during the busy season.
yeah, you would think
126 left and I must get ready for my day. Enjoy the day.
it is a long trip for us, but we stopped at Hershey on the way up which I'd always wanted to do.
114 left here. am definitely not finishing in one go.
Monday, Monday. Can't trust that day. Good morning, all.
Morning, Judi.

I’d just like to take this opportunity to tip my hat to Mother Nature, who restricted child-bearing years to the under 50-somethings. I have been looking after Son of Son of Soodle since last Thursday & I am kyboshed, banjaxed & utterly exhausted. He is now the grand old age of 4 months & a full-time job. This child-minding lark is blooming tough!!! 🤗

Goes without saying, Bich, but I had really forgotten how high maintenance fun-sized people can be!!
