I have ot4/4 (german name), ok 4/9, 5/20 (alt sp of okay?)
then pl
last col L is a spot on your skin, like a cut or sore
le6/18
gym time for me, TTFN!
got the ok 4/5
not getting the L word I know what the actual word is but not in the grid
it starts from the 4th row L if that helps MLF
I think I've got to start looking at how long ago someone posted in the chat before I answer :-)
el7....clue please
nvm
Clue please, aeb
el7 - e plus the sort of liquid you might use to make skin soft, but change the first vowel.
still have 25 C's to find :-(
also PB for Une :-)
hello haz!
haven't monkey that el word or the L word either
It's not a very free flowing grid. Some of the words are on the endangered species register.
Hello TO!
how's it going?
does the el word end in not off?
yes
Oh well, autumn/winter is here and I'm getting used to darker afternoons.
we're awaiting a plunge from yesterday's 60 F to well below freezing - January weather, actually. brrrr!
i took the tender annuals out yesterday - those nearest the house were still ok. oh and awaiting snow showers!
It's always a bit of a shock to the system when the clocks go back. We had stormy weather last night so it helped to shake a lot of leaves down. We've already had frost, slightly earlier than normal.
btw that's 15 C. to -6!
is it suntan lo**** you use to not get sunburned on a beach?
That's a big jump!
Yes, MLF, change the first vowel in that word and stick it to the e.
saw a story about how our area is warming. the coasts are warming most, and our area ahead of the pack
brb, lunch is cooling.
oh geez got it ty
going the wrong way
A lesson for life. Go the right way.
isn't going backwards more fun?
No. Definitely not.
oh darn
can I get an idiot clue for the 5th column L pls?
it's like a growth on your skin ... go down then angle across to the left
ends with the same last 3 letters of the one you just got
le6
ends with not off
heise
OH MY GOD I AM AN IDIOT should have known that word ty srry
no worries, MLF, babble blindness happens to all of us
sad but true
good morning :)
chiclet. not accepted. sheesh
good morn Nan :)
Take the t off, TO.
chiro
thanks.
owl my grandmother always had some of those in her purse when we were together she would offer a piece everytime . still a gum I miss the way it was
dropped 10 degrees since I got up this morning
it is miserable out but i am thinking since tomorrow will be like the middle of february i should go out. somewhere. anywhere.
Yes, sometimes you just have to brave the weather to get some fresh air.
this el 8 isn't working any help pls I have the 6?
have to pick up my college freshman today (luckily he's only 20 min away) to go shopping for warmer clothes. apparently the eating, working out, and protein powder has made none of his clothes fit.
i have been working on my den bookcase, cleaning out books to donate. i lost something so have been tearing things up to find.
lol hokie
chiclet and rotel
as most americans, i have so much stuff. but i am really in the mood to shed.
carla yuck!
but remove a vowel...
not together, they are just both in the grid
thanks, I literally always forget that ro4
I keep looking at my bookshelves too and I want to get rid of some of the books we have
i packed up all of my old guitar books. i won't play again. the instrument goes next.
hokie ohh do they start with the same 3 letters at least?
i found some picks and taped one to the inside cover of each book. only problem is i willl volunteer at tehe book sale and would hate to see my stuff there.
lol, I have 2 different guitar for dummies. I had a fiddle and a guitar of my dad's that I was supposed to be learning. I think I gave the guitar back for someone else to use but I still have the fiddle and several books.
i offered the guitar to my nephew but he is content to play around with his bass. he cannot handle another string ;)
owl whenever I donate something I want that item or items back . thankfully they go to a different good will and I don't have to look at the stuff
I think if I had started younger I probably could have learned but too hard now with all the other stuff (i.e. sewing) I want to do.
yes looking at it would kill me. i once gave up furniture and went back to get the prices for my taxes. somehow they had banged up the bookcase so badly...
owl yikes
My dad could play guitar and banjo and my oldest brother can play mandolin and bass but I can pretty much only play my flute. I can pick tunes out on the piano and learned a few easy songs on the fiddle but probably can't play them now.
but in cleaning i found a piece of jewelry i thought i had donated. i was with my dad who bought it when i admired it. a pendant made of horsehor nails. it made me so sad as well as happy
for want of an l we could have alleles
owl that is wonderful:) I had to give up a blouse my dad purchased for me I loved it but then the body changed I am still devastated.. oh make that two of them
so many close ones: adult, cotton, (ok, I know there were more but drawing a blank)
i know. i keep a top i got from my mom at chirstmans and also a nightgown. don't wear them
I should have kept those two tops I am still mad at myself but I know that was just memories not a need
i know. i have a friend who is into marie kondo and is always at me not to purchase, to clean up, etc. it's annoying.
KE8 clue pls?
no ke8
I only have 2 k4. I am just resigned to having to look up the rest
oh sorry
I have a Ke6
i have a KE5 and a KE7
hokie, take the Ke4 + the number UNO to it
KE5/22 is a sailboat - the 7 is a plural
and I have the Ke7
sorry I am trying to find at least one of the 8s
ty montreal!
well I found a ke 4 that is a fad diet lol
I have none of the 8s yet
np saanich ☺
it's a good grid if you want to spend the time
mark neither do i
hi and bye TO - gotta go - bbl
I have to get to the quilting, so probably won't finish today
stuck on the last 2 ac 6/24's - help, please?
both come from the left hand A
and both start with ACT
ar
yeah, well I've run out of acts
the ACT 6/24, do you have it?
I have the first one
the ACT 6/24 rhymes with factual
It's the 2 that follow the 7 that I can't find
that's the one I have mark
lol, good clue
the other ACT6 rhymes with faction
ty hokie
iadd locket to the phantom list
have that one as well
and that is a 6/21
one rhymes with evacuate. PB for me!
:)
have that one too -- it is an 8
that's a 6/24 btw, the one after the 7
nothing like spellling out the words :)
sometimes we all need a bonus :)
This puzzle is hard for me.
no it is the 7 --- it is the 2 6/24's that follow the exodus that I'm looking for
definitely hard for me. a lot of weird words are here
so what are the 8s stats?
ac 8/50
not 8, but we almost have acolyte
ah -- ac 6/24 -- remove a letter from the 7
anyone know the other 2 8's stats?
se 8/55
still missing one
just listed
I want it to be selection, but no. that's also 9.
me too hokie, and I know it's not there
I think I will take a break and then list. TTFN
you have the correct root word
I figured so, was just trying to get the other 2 letters.
oh wow, I wouldn't have guess that one, ty Nan
got it!
whew, me too
morning all, back fro my last 240
cu 6-8 combo, please?
sorry don't have that nan
Add two letters onto the CU 4/6 word.
Then plural
been trying that zoom
oh -- got it
strange word
Indeed.
c's done and time for breakfast :)
cu6 is an anagram of a woman's style person that is held in the hand. Then two letter plural.
thought for sure gotcha would be acceptable as an interjection. and even my spellcheck is not highlighting it so it must be allowed today.
good clue, molly. would never get that word on my own.
It looks like I jumped in at the perfect time. Keep 'em coming kids.
If you can inoculate, why can't you just noculate?
wouldn't it be just oculate?
inoculate, so noculate would be right I suppose :)
unless you want to install eyeballs
Why yes I do.
occulate away then!
I am still not getting the last two of the se 6 to make it se8?
think of adj instead of verb
i too was hoping for seletion
think adverb ml
adverb ending
FTR, I was saying to think of the root as an adj :D
ty bzz and mool and hokie
apparently i didn't think of that ending at all lol
seems like you've quickly corrected that tho :)
yep
thankfully
you are not kidding mool
I kid only seldomly
ohhh
AC 8? help, please.
sort of like ac5
just found an adv 7
oh ty
i just found that too hokie
silly word, huh?
ust didn't find the 8
Do tell.
the 7?
I am ac7 aware of the problem
I see
that 8 is kinda bs if you ask me
I agree
same root hokie?
no
yeah, although if you watch some of those Netflix movies...the thespians are only vaguely ac8
I didn't get it until I saw the list
good point moo
mlf, the 8 is one who portrays + sort of
i dnnt watch netfix/
not unique to Netflix unfortunately
still don't know it?
there is a suffix in the grid that means "kinda" or "so-so"
add that to one who is in movies and tv
got it
50 to go
gonna take a break
Half way and I can't quit yet.
My favorite chilhood gum is in the grid...
we were talking about that earlier in chat bzz
is it the ch word?
chiclets, yes.
yep:D
We used to make chains out of the gum wrappers. I loved fruit stripe gum because of the wrapper.
i never did that but i have seen people do it
i never liked the stripped frut gum but great packaging
Fun childish fun
I loved the fruit stripe gum. And the Big Buddy grape.
i stlll wish chiclets were popular
I loved fruit stripes as well. don't know big buddy grape.
i loved Big Red
pretty sure you can still buy chiclets
Oh the amazing sugar rush I'mm getting from the memories.
I did not like Big Red
stats for L in right column
i think you are right hokie
le 6/18
the most recent gum i have chewed is Altoid
le6/18 wv
My father didn't allow us to chew gum. He said it was low class. Never stopped us.
I never got the appeal of the Beemans clove gum.
ugh, gross
Me either
molly i have heard of that gum but never had it doesn't sound like a good idea either lol
I didn't even really like the teaberry or whatever it was
I don't like bubble gum either and could never blow a bubble with it
probably for people with dental problems -- cloves do alleviate toothache
Arebthey still around?
the teaberry is supposed to be a good one
The flavor didn't last.
i had no idea the flavor of gum could last as long as it does now and when that even started
juicy fruit was good but the flavor didn't last
I will never complete this grid if I keep getting distracted by the chat. Nose to the grid.
I did a science project in high school on how long extra gum's flavor lasted. I chewed it a LONG time. cannot get that many hours of flavor now (prob I have changed, not the gum). so to answer your question mlfan, it started in the late 80s/early 90s
you are no fun gramma lol
i will be back...
I am formally submitting that lucite is a word!
Acrylic or lucite
lucite is more licly a trademark.
er, likely even....
I have tried lucite at least 3x
Keep trying until it works.
clue for the ke 7 please (first one)
WHAT? Ke 7. Good grief
I have a plural of the boat
there are 2 of them gramma -- one is a plural poat
Sorry, that's all I have.
Late to the discussion, but I really love clove gum and wish I could find it nowadays.
I have seen it at like candy stores or general stores with big candy sections
looks like you can get it on amazon (like everything)
I don't shop much so that doesn't help finding stuff. 8^)
There's an idea! Thanks. I never think to look there.
Waiting on my HVAC technician.....both up and downstairs heat is not coming on. And it's the coldest day we've had yet. I am not happy!!
they even have some packaged with black jack gum and one other flavor I don't recall
My daughter loves the black jack gum. I'm not a fan of that one.
more then one ke 7?i too tried lucite
I also keep trying celtic but it is probably Celtic
me too
still looking for the ke 7/44
ke + a pronoun + coca c---
The last 3 are mixed up.
are you talking about the soft drink?
yes
ty gramma
I'm going to givce you this money. It's not a ---n. You can just take it
Oh good. I'm glad you got it from my poor cluing skills
last sh 6 please -- know how I'd describe it, but that word isn't there!
This definition will bring up the ke7 in a Google search..a variety of the black rhinoceros having the posterior horn equal to or longer than the anterior horn..
The last sh6 is the Yiddish village
no idea on that one, molly
It comes up in a Google search for Yiddish village
This word has been in the grids often
yeah - I could look it up in a litst too -- thought it was shetl -- but that's not it
don't know why this grid can't stick to english
You are close, try adding another letter, since it is a 6
giving up
don't know why we should be expected to know all these foreign words
Or foreign currency, or obscure mammals from obscure countries...
KE7---I'm still looking for the pronoun that's near that soft drink.....
ty for the other ke 7 clue
Ke**h Richards from the Stones & a ***f of bread
er 7/28 clue pls?

Well, I guess beans, really. :)
:)
the Ys are really not being friendly to me, i got the christmas one but that's it
try a plant that usually has more than one cons in the middle.
OMG! I can't believe I missed ha7! My family always giggles when I tell them that is what we are having for dinner instead of using the American term! =)
also for the Y's, use the Spanish term for aunt at the end.
ya6/27 andthe ya 7/40 is plural
What?!! Twenty left and they are all C's...
How did I miss Green beans?!
I know! Right?
they were covert over
=)
My only excuse is Tuesday's are class days and I am brain dead when I get back home...
class?
I've been studying and taking classes to become a NC Master Gardener.
wow
that's pretty cool
but i have thought you were a master already considering...you're raising emotional zucchinis
It's been fun. Have gained a lot of knowledge. Not going to make me richer, but very enriching.
LOL!
it takes a person of great skill to raise zucchini without squashing their feelings
But now I can herbacious ornamentals, wood ornamentals, grasses, soil...
can "talk"
I love any title that starts with "Master"
LOL! Me too, Molly!
Bow down....
We are not worthy
Since I also have a worm farm, if I fished I could be...Well, you know.
do you get segmental about the worm farm too?
=) No, but I get worked up running my hands through their casting...
And we were supposed to feed them today...
what do you feed worms?
garbage.
They love coffee grounds, tea bags, vegetable peels, moldy bread...
Composting, the perfect mix of worms and discarded kitchen remains
Any thing plant based that would normally go into the kitchen trash or compost.
oh caffinated worms
They love eggshells, but they don't eat the shell. Just the goop in the shell.
We started out with 1000 and we now have almost three times that many.
Yeah, I know way too much about worms...
do you know what the heck the ri7 is?
cheese.
god.. thanks
Put it on your ha7...
No, dont
that one had me buffalaed for sure
I know...I thought the same thing when I found it...
My favorite food...
i splurged and bought some brillat Savarin with truffles yesterday
MMM! I have never met a cheese I didn't like or wouldn't eat.
I took my homemade pimento cheese to luncheon today...All gone.
Brillat Savarin is the cheese of Love :D
But of course, if you make good pimento cheese in the south, everyone will eat it.
how can i be missing 15 c's? jeezus
That cheese sounds to die for...I love brie...
it is too good
one of my faves
i only eat it when i have a few arteries to spare
Goat's cheese, sheep's cheese...I don't care...
