I love A Christmas Story. It has so many reminders of childhood. Getting stuffed into snowsuits, the tongue on the flag pole thing, you'll shoot your eye out...

7:50 am

Yes. Typical of our family too.

7:51 am

With one exception. We never had turkey on Christmas. Turkey at Thanksgiving has always been enough for my family.

7:51 am

Bzz, that means 5 letters equalling 20 points, right?

7:52 am

yes, rob

7:52 am

8:05 am

We grew up having turkey for every holiday. My mother had heart health issues and she avoided high in cholesterol. I still love turkey and make it even when it is not a holiday

8:05 am

I think turkey for Christmas is British because they don't celebrate Thanksgiving a month before.

8:05 am

hi wv ilove turkey to

8:06 am

too

8:06 am

Molly, do you do a lot of cookie baking at Christmas?

8:07 am

I am not a big fan of turkey. I don't like anything but fresh and they are easier to get around Thanksgiving. Bea, I bake some cookies at Christmas. But I don't spend a month baking them, like some do. I just don't have the time.

8:08 am

I only spend a couple days baking mine.

8:08 am

I have a Celtic cookies and milk for Santa set and that calls for homemade Christmas cookies. I wouldn't dare leave Santa store bought cookies (coal for sure)

8:09 am

Love hearing everyone's holday traditions.

8:09 am

Love hearing everyone's holday traditions.

8:10 am

And it just isn't Christmas until it smells like gingerbread men.

8:11 am

I went to bed last night smelling of sugar and chocolate.

3:36 pm

I know all about wrinkles and nothing works unless you can afford injections or plastic surgery, ie. look at movie stars and other people in the news

3:37 pm

and no I have not tried either of those

3:37 pm

I've earned every wrinkle and glittery hair on my head. I wear them proudly.

3:39 pm

I have earned every wrinkle as well. can't say I wear them proudly tho. and I color my own hair

3:42 pm

fw happy babbling all

4:18 pm

Genetics plays a huge role. At 64, I'm still waiting for greys to come in so I can decide if I want to color or not -- never have before. I also have my mom's skin, so fewer wrinkles. Plus, I always wore hats, sunscreen, and stayed out of the sun.

I only have a few grays here and there that I pluck out. I do color my hair but only to make it blonde. My mom was in her late 60s before her hair really turned, but now my dad has snow white hair. Hoping I take after her. I do have plenty of wrinkles already though, but I have not been diligent about the sun.

4:24 pm

Good to know about your mom! I haven't met other women my age without grey hair --- my mom, aunts, and both grandmas died young, so I don't know if they would have had greys or not.

4:26 pm

Ha, late 60's before gray...ha ha ha ha...so much earlier for me. I am grateful for the Goddess who colors my hair. It gives the illusion of younger years.

I'm sorry to hear that! Yeah, she just turned 76 and I'd say it's probably about 85-90% gray now.

well, you're only 6, molly :D
