peri, the Q is a past tense of a 5. The t is a weird word. It's starts with a four letter word meaning exam, and the last 3 letters are the same as a singer's. Sorry I can't do better :(

Correction: I never do stats. I tried it once, with a grid from the archives, and couldn't find a way to copy the words without seeing at least a few of them. So I stay away from the solver. I think the stats are correct now. No 9, but an 8. As for the T7, these are the defs: A Roman siege device consisting of a movable screen protecting the besiegers' approach to a wall; or a cover formed by the overlapping shields of besiegers and held over their heads. But at 11.22 am fit1 had a nice clue that gives you at least the first 4 letters.

Often it is shortseer/goforit. Sometimes Krys10 too. Krys10 used wordracer before, but I believe she uses another one now, and found out how to do a letter count without seeing the words. All I can do, sometimes, is counting what I have. Since runningforhome said (at 12.35 am) that there are 147 words today, I thought my count would be complete.

The other T5/12 is Te, and it is a funny word that comes up in babble grids quite a lot.

Wow, you're right that is a funny little word. Have to remember that one the next time I play scrabble and have an abundance of vowels.

the school legend has it that the school mascot, a large brass thing in front of the library, would fly if a virgin were ever to graduate. the mascot was a land turtle and no, the statue has yet to fly...: )

Onyx, we had a similar story at the University of Michigan. We had two lions in front of our library, and if they roared, a virgin was passing. They never roared :)
