Good morning, were all self isolating now our schools are closed, More time for Babble :)

Will not be long before we are in lockdown. A weeks or so maybe.
im confused its a mild flu like virus, why have we all gone bonkers? remember i dont watch TV, so i have no real idea whats going on.
There is no cure at all for it so for the majority it will be just like having a cold but for people with health conditions or the elderly it can kill and has been doing so in the hundreds if not thousands by the end (When they get a vaccine for it)
And because it's new (you've probably heard the phrase 'novel corona') there's no resistance to it (resistance is futile). Whilst for the younger and healthier members of society, yeah, it will feel flu-ish.
The reason they are getting people to isolate themselves or closing schools etc is to try and stop it spreading too quickly and overwhelming the NHS
But for people with underlying conditions (such as COPD, cancer, asthma) and for the elderly, it's potentially deadly
I am a carer for my parents and worry that I might give it to them. You can go two weeks before any symptoms show by that time it could be too late to stop me giving it to them.
yeah im self isolation, im lucky as i work in a school. the people who are self employed i feel sorry for.
And trying to buy shopping for them is a ruddy nightmare as there is nothing left on the shelves to buy unless I want tinfoil. Seems to be lots of that still going.

Yes I remember you saying that I think yesterday, Molly. I think your bosses should tell that person to stay home. And I would hope that they would still pay the person their wages. If they are staff you value surley it would make sennse to look after them.
I am more disappointed in the irresponsible employer who is not demanding that the person stay home.

I listened to a young man at my garden club last month. He and his wife live off grid, meaning they have no electricity running to their home. They also practice permaculture. When they first started out, they had ten pigs that they let free range to clear their porperty.

It is good that you are getting out and walking. I have been telling everyone I talk to or chat with fresh air and sunshine kill viruses. Getting outside will not hurt those around you and will be so beneficial for your physical and mental health.
but this virus is different, cold helps it to grow and the heat will kill it, the gov are trying to stem the tide of infection till the warmer weather starts to come into play.

Iam plodding along as usual thanks. Dad is still the same so stable. Mother was taken to hospital a little while a go and spent four days there. Her stomach was really bad and she could not keep anything down. It turned out that she had an imbalance of C-Diff and so was harmful to her. They treated her for that so she is just battling with the usual diverticulitis.

latest scans and x-rays show osteoarthritis and osteporosis from C2 to S1. new "natural" pain med seems to be helping. it stops the pain messages from being transmitted along the cox1 AND cox2 pathways. even now, pain 7/10, sitting here typing. but....i do not have covid-19. i am grateful.

I live in a small inner ring burb near CLeveland. The mayor just announced an initiative for everyone who can to step out of our houses at 6:3- each evening starting tomorrow (rain tonite) to greet neighbors, ride bikes see who needs what and just see some friendly faces from a safe distance. I live alone and the social distancing is challenging. I do take walks and got on my bike yesterday, but I crave eye contact (I already know hugs are out of the question). Thank goodness I have what I need at home. My synagogue has started a phone calling chain, too. I am both a caller and a recipient of calls. Who knows we may emerge to a kinder society.
