12:50 am

found the 9 and 10, thank you guys, first time ever.

12:56 am

Ok, even though I've been jinxeed with mistakes lately, I've done the stats for myself, so I might as well share: 10 - 1 9 - 1 8 - 1 7 - 11 6 - 35 5 - 57 4 - 63 ------ total: 169 ------- D - 23 E - 8 F - 7 G - 8 H - 3 i - 3 K - 7 L - 5 M - 19 N - 3 R - 24 S - 42 T - 15 Y - 2

2:59 am

Yay!! first time I've played in a hundred years (almost) and on my first run-through I got 105 words... usually stumped at 50% on first run.... there IS a Christmas elf. Now I have to look for those nine- and ten- letter words...heigh-ho!!

3:08 am

First 2 words - the 9 and 10 - woohoo!

4:46 am

Oh, I LOVE those 9/10! Wish I had three of them. :)

4:53 am

Hm, an N6/24 I do not like. Thought that was slang, and very discriminating.

5:14 am

Krys10 said: "Ok, even though I've been jinxeed with mistakes lately, I've done the stats for myself, so I might as well share" Krys10, I am really glad you do! Some mistakes will keep us awake... lol And it is much more fun babbling with stats, at least I think so. Thanks again.

5:38 am

Ow, a nice R7/28!

6:35 am

And a very subdued M7/52

6:46 am

7s so far (8 of 11): G7/36 -- castrators M7/40 -- bestowed an M5/14 upon M7/52 -- subdued R7/44 -- looks for again R7/28 -- to call by a name again S7/44 -- insect (combo 8/60) S7/28 -- petitioners, courters (alt. spelling) T7/28 -- walks unsteadily

6:52 am

I have 4 M words that go with the M/7 but I can't find the M/7 :(

6:53 am

what do the 9 and 10 start with please?

6:55 am

If you have the M5/16, all you need is an ending. And the biggies start with M.

6:57 am

found the M/7, thanks, sprite

6:58 am

found the 9 and 10, what a great way to start the day!

6:58 am

:D

7:19 am

H7/48 -- one who bargains N7/36 -- quibbler (find one, find the other)

7:26 am

Found the last 7 (if I counted right): S7/36 -- attackers

7:26 am

That H7/48 - is it an American-used word? I've never heard it before

7:28 am

the H/7/48 is an alternative spelling. In the US it usually starts with an HA

7:30 am

ahhh ok - same in the UK - its usually HA too

7:32 am

Yes, alt. spelling, it says so in the dictionairy too. Sorry I left that out.

7:32 am

Aarrgghh... make that dictionary. :(

7:34 am

he he no probs - I was just interested - sometimes with the dictionary being US based, its hard for me to tell whether something is a US-ism or an alternate spelling - and I'm just inquisative enough to try and find out ...

7:36 am

these alternate spellilng are really tricky. sometime they are hard to figure out, like the s/7/28. I am pretty sure what the word is but can't figure out the alt. spelling of it. :(

7:37 am

There is an L6/24 that is an alt. spelling as well, found it just because I didn't realise the last letter was missing, and babble accepted it. Some kind of clothing.

7:38 am

@ periwinkle: for that alt. spelling, realise there is no O in this grid. ;)

7:40 am

sprite, found the L/6/24. Will keep looking for the S/28. Thanks for the hint. :D

7:44 am

sprite, I found the s/7/28. I think a better definition would be: wooer or admirer.:D

7:46 am

Checking my list for plurals helped me finish: 169 words / 5.04 / 2965 points. It's always those plurals and past tenses that do me in! :P Nice grid today - enjoyed playing.

7:47 am

Thanks, periwinkle, I'll remember that! Thought that courter was the same thing, but your defs are much clearer. :)

7:49 am

having trouble finding the r/7/28.

7:51 am

Perhaps that def isn't too great either, but I couldn't think of a better one without giving the whole word away. You probably have the T5/10 that forms the base for it.

7:54 am

don't have any t/5/10 words yet, will keep looking

7:56 am

sorry, sprite, courter is the same as admirer but when I saw petitioner and courter I was thinking along the lines of something legal and I knew that I couldn't make:solicitor :)

7:59 am

*lol* I can imagine you had a hard time finding an alternate spelling for that! Actually, the dictionary gives a legal def for the S7/28 as well. ;)

Do all the N's start with the same two lettes?

12:02 pm

inaniloquent - yes they do

thanks!

1:54 pm
