Was your dad ill? I'm glad you visited as well. When my dad passed suddenly last November, I had talked to him on the phone about 10 days prior, but knew that the last thing I said to him was how much I loved him. I am glad you were able to visit with him.
yeah, horrible time for a funeral. at least mom agrees with me & the oldest brother about doing private graveside only due to covid.
That's all we are allowed here. It's been so difficult working at a church with older parishioners. So many have passed but the church as a whole is not able to celebrate their life together with the family.
car, I did not know about your dad. sorry to hear that. my dad was 80 and had parkinson's, which is just horrible.

Yeah, 2019 totally sucked with mom passing in April and then dad in November. Didn't think it could get much worse, but then 2020 rolled in....ugh.
yeah, my middle brother wants the church to do a bereavement meal like they usually do for the family, but the rest of us are like, you're crazy. plus all the ladies that do that are old.
Is your church even allowing that right now? We cannot.
they had one a month or so ago but didn't really have any cases in the area then. now they have cases.
You should check with the diocese/district/council for your state. It may help guide in the planning if there are now restrictions set.

they also have a new preacher (the methodists like to move them around) and I don't know what his stance is.

My oldest brother is diabetic and terrified of covid and my other brother seems to think there isn't a pandemic. but he and his family have always been that way, when my kids were little we called my brother's family typhoid marys.
Oh dear! Well knowing if there are restrictions may help with that.
your older brother must avoid the news.. there are plenty of stories of people who didn't think there was a pandemic who got covid and died
they are in VA which has a mask mandate, but they are on the border of TN, which is like mask? social distance?
