Molly - we have a 21 year old granddaughter with a severe auto-immune disease who is confined to the house, not having any in person with the outside world because of selfish idiots that think it is their right not to wear a mask, or to go to parties and protests and malls and continue to spread the virus around.

Nan, wouldn't someone with auto-immune disease be conhfined to the house masks or not? Or would she be able to go out if everyone wore masks? Seems like that is a risk for someone that compromised since all the masks being worn don't contain the spread of germs.
I can tell you right now that the mask I see most frequently worn is the blue, paper, disposable kind that really does nothing to prevent the spread of germs. And people wear them over and over and they are supposed to be one time use masks.

Molly i dont think people do thier own research and just rely on the tv.
acutally, those blue paper masks are more effective than the scarf tied around the face or that think that looks like a collar pulled up over the mouth and nose.

there is an easy way to test to see if your mask is working... put it on and try to blow out a match or a candle. If the flame goes out - you need a different mask.

Those neck things are called gaiters. I have no idea why. And Nan, if you can't put out enough breath to blow out a match or candle, how in the world are you able to breathe in?
you don't need to breath in with the same force of air you use to blow out a candle, sing or speak
I don't know how, but I can't blow out a match in any of the masks I wear, but I have no trouble breathing in. Our lungs are pretty amazing things.
I was just reading about people trying to blow out candles while wearing a mask and one guy says he set his mask on fire. I know I should not be laughing. I really shouildn't.
