we ran out of water on Mt Marcy, but my friend had a purifier and there was a puddle there, which was nice :)
We have water filters. Mt Marcy is a tough hike--it took us 14 hrs up and down, with a few breaks.
we left our stuff at the lean-to and just carried our daypacks up. I I recall - this was 25 years ago (!!!)
