Thank you, Google.
You are our winner!
Thank you, thank you! Most unworthy winner since I have never watched a minute of any Star Wars films.
No? I am quite a fan.
No, I'm allergic to anything sci-fi or fantasy.
My son-in-law is a true fan of all things Star Wars.
I am close, but Star Wars sucked me in back in 1977.
Now I have 3 grand-nephews that are huge fans. Ages, 8, 5, and 2.
Does it not get confusing with all the sequels and prequels? Or do you just sit back and enjoy?
I am confused, but the boys clarify for me.
Ha! Just as well they are there.
True
I presume their imaginations can cope with all the plot lines and can just absorb what's going on.
And do you watch these at home or in the cinema?
I do not go to the cinema--too loud, too many annoying people. I haven't gone in maybe 20 years. So I watch at home.
I agree with you about the noise. I find it really overpowering. I don't go very often. I hate the sticky floors as well!
Oh, yes.
The real cinema buffs would say we're depriving ourselves of the true experience. I can live without...
Some people create home theatres with a large screen and massive speakers.
And popcorn?
Air popper!
Name a popular brand of gummi candy.
Let's see what google has to say.
You are so honest, Haz.
Well, if you started on an in depth discussion of Star Wars I'd pretty quickly show my ignorance.
Haribo!
I have major gaps of knowledge myself
Now that I HAVE heard of.
*ding*ding*ding*
Smugness descends.
Atalante is the Queen of Smug. She knows the Latin names of hundreds of ocean creatures.
Oh, I know. She used to delight in being playfully smug here.
Yes. I miss seeing her here.
She was here for a while during early lockdown in March but I assume she's back to work learning all those names.
And her artwork is divine.
She is very talented.
I must get ready for work. Today I drive out to the Native American Reservation clinc.
How long of a drive is it? Have a good day, keep safe.
35 minutes. Regular office is 12 minutes away.
bye
Not too bad, then. See you again sometime!
Oohhh French region full of castles! :-)
Loire. I'm on a roll this morning.
Hey, Haz!
Hello, Une. Scrabbler and I were playing spot the proper names earlier.
Sounds like fun!
I had to resort to google for the first one. Star Wars isn't my thing.

I love the life saver gummies.

It's interesting how some people lean towards chocolate and others toward fruit candies. I'm a chocolate person.
I like chocolate too. And it goes in spells.
I like some other candies, like Nerds. but my family really like skittles and I don't like those at all.
Bea, does your taco spaghetti recipe call for Rotel?

ah, there's my last two v's...5 to go
she's reliable like that
yep. are my missing 4 v's regular words? v's are weird a lot of times.
6 are common
oh, found an L. 22!
one relatively common, especially given that it's a shorter version of one of the others
and the last one is an anagram of an easy word
B,B,O,R,S aka Borbs
hmm, I have one I would consider weird.
or BROBS
ys...or sbrbo
which I think is a Czech word for "look it up you fool"
I made up a lot of B's.
made up one b...the longest one
I got that one early on, seemed legit to me. I'd probably use it in convo.
Might be a regional thing :)
ooh, found 2 v's. 20!
nice
still 5 here
maybe :D
still 6 4's
I see a certain fake Kazakh is in there
one 4 left for me...one 5 too...3 sixes

ah, found my last o
given my interests, should've found that one earlier
these o's are really baffling me today
odd words many of them
well not many, but some of them
only 5 of them are common words you'd speak
probably the 5 I'm missing
some of them are relatively frequent babblets
oh, there's a v4

I give up on the 7's - what 2 am I missing?
Habe you got the b6

I can't comment on the auntly proportions
Have you got the other b6 then.
I have one that is a pl.
I hvave 2 b6s
not bien
Okay have you got the b7.
yep
that's my only 7
It is hard when there are so many Bs
oh, the a7 is odd
Ae7 also ab7
the s7 is less odd, but not common
true, and I feel like I made up several of the b's so I could be not seeing an easy
I believe you mean ab8
going to have to see the list
Oh yes sorry my bad. so sorry.
Did not mean to ruin it for you. UI will be quiet.
didn't ruin it for me :)
me either
I already had the ab8
finally found that last r
2 to go
I can't even find the ae7 with the list. LOL. moving on! maybe it'll come to me later.
yeah, it's an odd word...definitely a guess on my part
well there's an a4 I know I tried earlier
so weird
Extend the first ae 4/4
and there's my last b...
1 to go
ok ok now to see if the B words will appear
Ends a like when you are scared of spiders or heights etc.
got it, thx
ooh, what was your last B, moo?
a 4
so is mine per the list (forgot I was using it when I asked you LOL)

my last had a double vowel
omg, finally see that bird word you were talking about earlier
yeah, that was my last o
Like a cup of tea lol
yeah, perhaps a frat boy's tea
What is a frat boy?
you all don't have frat boys? consider yourself lucky
Sorry...a Lad
I personally have never heard of then. are they like what we call a chav?
a college boy in a fraternity. they use "bro" or "bruh" a lot.
Ah okay I got you now.
I've never heard of a chav!
but looking at the def., sounds very similar
I hear they are adding a new meaning to the word Lockdown in the Oxford dictionary.
well, my last word is an st6 it seems
ah, found it
just struggled with an st6
but found it
fw
well done!
Congrats, Mool!
still 4 to go here. 3 T's and an A I skipped.
yeah, no clues today...a good grid
who'd have thunk be6 would count
a bone I should've seen and an english spelling. RME
Bea's aunt
hurshy, not me. I even blurted it in the chat this morning when Bea said her great aunt was in the grid.
2 5/10s left. can I monkey them? surely.
All those 5/10s have been in grids before.
OMG, why could I not see AR5/10. finally got it and it's an everyday word.
so probably should have gotten half of my last 12 without the list.
Congrats for when you finish, Hokie. I need to go. Toodle pips!
finished, but thanks, zooz! have a good day.
nice going hoke
thanks. now I will lose a bunch of points in serpentine while marksdolly wins the rounds.

Name that Proper Noun. Modern Italian Composer
hunting for the or5 that isn't a trip around a st4
hey dan. or5. ends with ending of excuse given to police
suspect I'm all by myself though :-)
*waves to Dan* hello mate
granny! how are you getting on, love?
not so well Dan. the old ticker is playing up and i have had to cancel the surgery scheduled for next week.
how are you all coping? i have been watching your posts on FB eagerly. i know you wouldn't post false news.
i'm so upset too as two lovely christian lady friends of mine are carrying on like DJT has been poorly done by. and i going (excuse the language) WTF have you two not seen?
I'm so sorry. I hope you will find relief soon. We are just watching the clock tick away and hoping for a smooth transition that can quickly start moving help to where it's needed. The areas where 45 got the most support are seeing the biggest surge in cases, and they can least support it with the health infrastructure being thin
it is such a shame that he and his enablers primarily even now think of covid as a public relations problem not a real health crisis
but what about my missing or5? :-)
*giggle* did you blink? nm. or5 ends with the ending of the excuse you give to police.
thanks for repeating!
that's my firewords
WTG DAN2BITS!!!
Congrats!
hi une. i'll be back soon. hubby has handed me a VERY juicy orange. need to find my bib...loll
Enjoy!
i think i should of sat in the tub with that one. juice from here to Christmas...loll
how are you Une?
granny I am with you completely on the present so called leader. He is so evil and trying to make anything and everything as hard as possible for our new president.
He is a very sick man. I read the book his niece Mary wrote and she says her grandfather ruined the Donald from an early age to keep him devoid of any empathy, feelings and the only think of himself. Nonetheless, no excuse for the cult members who have swallowed the koolaid they dont believe anything but the lies that djt spews constantly.
Nancy, it's quite hard for those of us who don't live in the States. we only have the info which is given to us through the media.
and of course friends within the States whom i know personally. which is why i am so upset about my friends stance. i simply cannot believe what they are spouting.
He should have NEVER been elected in the first place. He is a total failure and nothing but a realty show host. It has brought all the sickos in our society to follow him because they are racists and never liked Obama who is worlds and worlds above him in every way.
Well, just know that the nonsense you are hearing from your friends is not going to win in the end. I just feel bad that America has become a joke but still hold hope that Biden will repair the damage. Trumps only accomplishment is to destroy as much of our country as he can. He wants to be a Putin as he admires what he thinks is power. I cannot wait until the whole crooked administration and family is out of the white house. They are all only in for power and money.
There are multiple lawsuits awaiting him the minute January 21 arrives. I am hoping some of them finally nail him and his next home is in prison.
oh Nancy, it isn't your country that is being laughed at scornfully. believe me. our hearts are breaking with what you are all suffering. it is so wrong on so many levels.
Thank you for that. It is uplifting to hear that from another country. Biden does care about our people and the country so things are sure to improve. Have been following your health problems and sorry that your next surgery has to be delayed. Growing old is only for the strong so sending you hugs and best wishes.
Even in the states, in seems there are people who know only what from certain news sources, e.g. Fox (although even Fox has declared Biden the winner), and possibly malicious items spread on Facebook?
and believe it or not, DJT's followers are also to be prayed for. they have been following a very bad example of human behaviour.
Although it seems like anyone who has paid attention to what he says and does should realize that he just is a self-interested grifter and compulsive liar.
I have friends and even family members who drank the cult way of life. They only watch fox which is nothing but a propaganda machine and does not give the truth in any kind of news.
i've seen the verbal attacks on FB. as i said, DJTs followers are not nice people.
Gillie, you would think but they do not listen to anything that makes sense, only follow what their leader spews out which is all lies.
well i went to Politico to fact check both candidates. what is being said about Joe Biden has no truth in it at all.
bbl. have laundry to sort and start the washer. xx
Good for you. He is a fine outstanding human and will do everything he can to help us return to a somewhat normal country.
Even Trump`s latest campaign to raise funds, supposedly to expose election fraud, says in the fine print that only donations of $8000 will be used (in part) for that purpose. The rest goes mainly to cover his debts and also to the RNC.
He is and has been a criminal all his life. Now he is cornered with no way out and no one to bail him out. How people can even think of sending this grifter a dime is beyond me. Especially since our economy is in the toilet.
Trump's debts are probably the main reason he wanted to be president, although he does love adulation. As president, he could both profit and offer favors to those he owed the most money to.
Very true, he probably owes Putin a bundle of dough.
I listened to part of the first "debate", (couldn't stomach any more) and was impressed that the Fox news anchor tried to stop Trump interrupting. It's very hard to stop a two years old tantrum politely.
He was coached to interrupt as much as possible so he would not have to answer any questions, My favorite line was Joe Biden telling him to shut up.
I thought he just wanted to talk for the hour. Equal time was 1 hour trump and 1 minute Biden. all about me, me, me. We used to have commmunity and helping. Ask not what the country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.
when I started working, it was :we want to keep our employees for 30 years and treat them accordingly", it changed to "to hell the employees, we're out to make a buck".
any hints for the ne 5?
ne5/10. sounds like geek, but change the last cosonant, plural
tyvm
*ugh* consonant
I understood
thanks

mixi, we have the same attitude with our employers. to hell with nearly 50 years experience, let's employ overseas trained people because the government will pay half their wage. there is no such thing as employer loyalty any more.
I am the last direct member of a family that has controlled a closely held corporation since 1919. Of 10 employees the one with the least amount of service is 22 years. All these years my family has rewarded loyalty. It is tough navigating the political waters. One thing I am having a heck of time doing is finding a couple of millenials willing to work. We are considered to be an essential biz so we are tackling the current times. And, we have not considered accepting the the financial gambits proffered. Sorry to intrude I am a longtime lurker but just had to vent.
go for it maggie. i agree. family run businesses tend to have a different approach to employers who work for a business syndicate.
Sorry for the dump ... just thanks your lucky stars I didn't mention my ugly divorce that has been going on for over two years, restraining orders in place so my stepson could marry in Sept and stepdaughter last month, their father has estranged absolutely everyone in his life. On that note I'll try to get to sleep another set of appts at the office tomorrow.
The business of paying half the wages of overseas employees sounds like it may be specific to Australia, but there are countries who have a combination of very low wages and many highly trained workers, so if you can use overseas labor, it can be tempting.
One of the unfortunate consequences of world-wide inequality, and hard to solve.
I will never outsource work that can be done by employees to a 3rd party anywhere. I know all the big boys play that way. But not the little guys on the block.
Yeah, and these days executives in big companies aren't necessarily loyal even to the company, never mind the employees, as long as they can find a way to line their own pockets.
maggie, no apologies are necessary. you have a very valid point about family owned businesses. i just can't stand seeing inappropriately trained people taking over Australian jobs.
oh dear my darling just made me belly laugh. we were "argufying' over whether my wheelie walker would fit in the back seat of our car. he says we can't do it because he's just shampooed the glove box. laughing so hard..
haha Rose - we cant take too much luggage on our trip in December (food included) because the golf clubs need to fit in and hub has back issues and only putters around on the golf course !!
roflol urshy. wanna swap ?
or better yet, let's send them away together and we'll have our own holiday.
good plan - just pop past in your plane to pick me up and we can decide where to go from here :)
