I do think there are a lot of offensive words in this dictionary
Here is the thing about offensive. If I call someone a sp4, that is offensive. If sp4 appears in a word game, it's not. It's just a word that appears in a dictionary or on a word list.
Molly, you and I agree entirely on this. Words have power when we give them power, which we do if we use the word as an insult (or are insulted by them). As part of a word list, the word has no inherent, automatic power.
Yes, offense or insult comes from the word being used against someone. Not from a word just being on a list or in a game. You are right, it's all about the power involved. Great way to explain that.

I was at the grocery store yesterday. I thought a storm was coming.
We went to see the Christmas lights in the local State Park last night. What usually takes 15 minutes to drive through took an hour and ten minutes. I couldn't believe how many people were there.
And most of the cars had open sun roofs with kids sticking out the top, screaming and hollering. It gave me new sympathy for parents with stir crazy kids in these "times of COVID".

My daughter, who works a a manager in a home for the intellectually disabled adult, was exposed to Covid 19. The residents weren't supposed to go to work. However, some idiot took them anyway. Since she was exposed, my granddaughter can't go to school for two weeks.

though i have never liked bread pudding, i tried her bread pudding in a mug and found it lovely. a healthier sweet snack.
We used to handwrite exams for 3 hours, no way I could do it now.
oh and palmer? i always had trouble with that. now i thin writing one's signature is all that is taught.
