12:07 am

aw, i'm sorry min, sounds like you're feeling bad about your weight then? :(

12:09 am

Well only sort of hurshy. Not bad enough to go on a strict diet.Do not have the self discipline to go on a strict diet.

12:10 am

yeah, i decided to try something a little different myself

12:11 am

restrict calories just 2 days a week. the goal on those days being 500, but, i may usually be hitting 600 or 700. still it's a significant restriction, and i felt for only 2 days a week i could handle it. and i've lost like 10 pounds!

12:11 am

go7

12:12 am

Wow! 500 calories is so few. At my gym, the lowest they recommend for a woman is 1200!

12:12 am

oo7

1200 every day is too low, it will drop your metabolism and spiral into bad places. But 500 or less your body treats like fasting, and that actually speeds up your metbolism. When you do eat your should eat 1600 or 1800 depending on your size

12:14 am

True - but that's a high protein diet for one week, followed by 2 weeks at 1500, then 1 week at 1800, then repeat. It worked for me - never felt hungry and maintained the loss.

12:14 am

Are we talking 500 a day in Reese's cups? Or is this in total? (Asking for a friend)

12:15 am

I am stopping with 80 words and 799 points.Goodnight all

I think one gram of Reeses is 500 kcal lol

12:15 am

Sleep well Min

12:16 am

Good night, min

but yes, actually, if you keep it under 500, even if it's pure sugar your body will go into fasting mode. Of course zero is better

12:16 am

8:29 am

there is the australian shrill cry

those are the only 2 weird ones (unless the one I'm missing is weird)

that cry is a c word?

yes, one might say that baby is awful co5/16 (but that's not what it means)

never mind, i already have it.

ty

gotta follow mr. homie to drop off our motorhome for work on it. be back in hours. 24 left!

8:40 am

happy haircut :)

bye, enjoy your haircut

8:47 am

i'm jealous of her - i saw this shut down coming, but didn't manage to get mine cut before everything closed down

8:52 am

one of my grand-daughters is 8 years old and suffering through this pandemic. she misses her friends, going to school full time and says she wants me to hug her again. she sends me the most heart-wrenching texts and videos. i found an app called Caribu that let's us read the same book and play games together.

8:53 am

i feel for the children - we feel helpless, but they have absolutely no control over what's been happening to their lives

8:54 am

so, for this little girl, we'll have a bright spot every day - maybe some of you can get some use of this app, too

9:20 am

That is really nice. I hope you two have fun with it. Kids have been ripped off the most by this. I feel bad for them.

9:23 am

wype was not found in the dictionary...That is how I feel today...Off to finish the last of the shopping. 75 left...

9:33 am

I ordered a bunch of groceries to get us through our "snow event" tomorrow. God I hate snow.

9:38 am

Good morning, all. We are expecting 1-3 inches, Molly. Horror!

9:41 am

Where do you order groceries from, Molls?

9:43 am

A couple of different stores in my area. I use instacart.

9:44 am

Depending on what I want, I order from Giant, Safeway, Wegman's or Harris Teeter.

9:44 am

I tried Whole Foods through Amazon once, but they are too freaking expensive.

9:44 am

Ah. I could order directly from my regular grocery store. One of these days I'll get organized and do that. Would save hubby from having to schlep to store with me every other Sunday.

9:44 am

Ah yes. Avoid "Whole Paycheck" at all cost.

9:45 am

It costs a little more but it is a glorious treat to have groceries delivered to your doorstep.

9:46 am

I would have to order from two separate stores as well. Shop Rite & Acme. Acme is the more expensive one, but they have certain things we like that can't be found elsewhere.

co627 - the third one?

9:50 am

Don't have that one yet, Leona.

9:50 am

co6/27 - when chickens are restricted

Hi, have that one thanks Haz

looked for the 3rd one

9:52 am

Is it the second one you need then? Plural of co5, call for attention.

I have the funny one that is plural and I have the chicken one LOL

9:58 am

I am missing the Co5/14.

hi haz

9:58 am

NM> got it!

9:59 am

Hello TO. Have you got your hair cut yet or is that still to happen?

i was scheduled for thursday but we are having a big snowstorm. Rescheduled for late this afternoon.

10:02 am

I hope the weather behaves itself for you.

10:02 am

I saw on the news yesterday that a storm was due.

i just finished navigating an on line order. the item won't ship until after the new year, but I can wrap a photo of the book. I guess i should have had it shipped to the intended recipient.

yes, it is a big one/ making up for last year which was pretty much snowless.

i need to get some snow poles to mark the driveway. i think we are due for about 10 " at least.

10:04 am

Oh goodness, that's a lot of snow!

i think it will be wet snow, too. ugh.

10:06 am

That's usually the sort we get here - not in those quantities, thankfully, but it quickly goes slushy and nasty.

yes. perhaps it will help with the holiday mood, which is absent/ it was over 60 F. over the weekend.

10:09 am

It would only help the holiday mood if all you had to do was look at it, it's the navigating through it that makes snow a nuisance.

10:11 am

Hi all.

hello mkg

10:12 am

Clue for the o words please. I don’t see any. Ty

10:13 am

12:11 pm

26 4s, 18 5s, 13 6s and 1 7

12:11 pm

I like how you took the time to write that out when it would be changing instantly

12:11 pm

heh :)

12:12 pm

22x4, 14x5, 10x6 and 1x7 :)

12:12 pm

12:24 pm

so you're saying there are actually more P's than what I think

12:24 pm

12 to go

12:24 pm

I guess so...the ones I found were homophones of each other, and unusual words

12:27 pm

9 to go

12:27 pm

C,G,G,M,O,O,P,P,S

12:27 pm

PPPPP W M G

12:27 pm

12:28 pm

c's are all incredibly normal. my last was a 4.

12:28 pm

12:28 pm

12:28 pm

12:30 pm

taking the dog out. maybe I'll see them when I come back in.

12:32 pm

12:33 pm

12:36 pm

12:37 pm

1:17 pm

heh

1:17 pm

still 8 left here

wow, finally found the last w - was not that hard

1:18 pm

was it the 4?

no, 5

1:18 pm

oh, the lover one?

still one left, it is the one molly was cluing when I came back and I still can't find it.

yes

1:19 pm

my last c was like that

somehow I had that c, it was the present tense of that word that was my last c

1:21 pm

still have 4 sixes

my complaint is a word that already has a plural and this was a BS one and there's a similar word with neither of those. because english is weird.

1:22 pm

sounds reasonable (have no idea what she's talking about)

1:22 pm

oh, actually...you mean that p6

1:22 pm

that was the homophone I was talking about before

no, those canadian slangs were all new to me. I am referring to a G6, like a G6 (sorry, musical ADD coming out)

1:25 pm

ah

finally saw the last one. now getting busy here. Good luck! of course I'll be in and out as always here.

1:26 pm

3:26 pm

ty mool, fw

3:31 pm

yay!

3:31 pm

it was the word I actually just found before you asked :)

4:01 pm

5 to go...a couple of easy words I missed

4:19 pm

Bea needs a long winters nap.

4:34 pm

I get the fatigue, I'm running a quart low these days myself.

es

I could use a nap. a long winter's nap sounds great. or just wake me up when I can get covid vaccine.

5:19 pm

i could use a nap

5:19 pm

Well, the bad news is that the COVID vaccine is not going to end all this.

5:21 pm

What do you mean, Molly? I must have missed some news.

no, but it should lessen my chance of getting it

ori, I think a couple of factors...not enough people will get the vaccine for herd immunity or to wipe it out. we'll probably have to get it every year because antibodies don't seem to be permanent.

5:32 pm

Ah, well I will certainly get it and will get a yearly booster if that is necessary.

unless I've missed some news and molly is talking about something else

5:34 pm

No Carla, you answered for me very well.

5:34 pm

The holes in the economy will likely not be patched up for years. Some of this was inevitable no matter what--brick and mortar retail was probably doomed before the pandemic. But it would have given the millions employed there more time to re-tool.

5:35 pm

The economy is so hosed. Except of course for the wealthy. They are immune to any economy crisis.

5:36 pm

The travel industry is not likely to recover for a long time, especially since business travel subsidizes the cheap airfares for the rest of us. So many people make their livings directly or indirectly from travel and tourism.

5:37 pm

Oh, yes. The ramifications of the economic consequences will be felt for quite some times.

5:52 pm

We don't really know for sure yet, but it is possible that COVID will be like the flu, and mutate enough each year that vaccines can never be fully effective. But just as the flu shot reduces the severity of the flu in the population generally, an annual COVID shot should be able to do the same.

5:56 pm

Maybe the biggest reason for trying to slow the spread of COVID is that otherwise the health-care system becomes so completely overwhelmed that people start dying for other issues that could have been treated otherwise.

5:57 pm

And, of course, we lose more health professionals that way too.

5:59 pm

People ARE dying from other issues that could be treated. People are terrified to go to the hospital. Look what happened to Bea's mother when she went to the hospital for another issue. Horrible treatment.

6:00 pm

Yes, because COVID in the US is in no way under control

6:01 pm

I don't think anyone said it was.

6:01 pm

If people were willing to take precautions for a while, it could be much better, as it has been in many countries.

6:02 pm

Okay, I'm going to duck out now. People get real preachy in here when it comes to COVID.

6:09 pm

I just consulted a list of countries ranked by deaths per million from COVID (in decreasing order), and although the US is only in 11th place, that puts it ahead of most of the world.

6:10 pm

(Admittedly, we're probably not getting accurate counts from some countries.)

6:10 pm

Just to be clear, the US is the 11th WORST.

6:21 pm

And although we've never had a comparable situation, for strong countries (and especially rich countries), there is no reason to suppose the economy can't recover after the shut-down, although it may require some stimulation.

6:22 pm

Considering what the US is willing to spend on pointless wars, that shouldn't be impossible.

7:11 pm

Si6 please?

7:11 pm

do5/16 the third one please?

7:12 pm

si6 is a Spanish nap

7:12 pm

Do + ***key Mouse

7:12 pm

Tx molly

7:13 pm

And thank God the lecture is over.

7:18 pm

Thanks Une

7:31 pm

Freeman, are you Marc Freeman who used to play here?

8:05 pm

just for the record, and contrary to what you may have seen here before, the prior posts are not the opinion of all canadians.

8:07 pm

(and american involvement in the second world war saw mega benefits to canada - if england had fallen, canada (and australia) would have been in deep doo doo)

8:11 pm

I wouldn't presume to think that all c

8:11 pm

canadians are of one mind

8:11 pm

unlike americans, who all like apple pie and vanilla ice cream

8:12 pm

came to try to get my last 39 words

8:14 pm

lol, Harry, I know what you're saying but I personally like strawberry-rhubarb pie and do not like ice cream.

8:15 pm

and I'm actually not that crazy about any fruit dessert. If it's not made of chocolate I don't want it on my plate.

8:18 pm

34 to go. I'm listing.

8:20 pm

I'm not that crazy about any desert (not a sweets freak) and probably eat a piece (not a bar) of dark chocolate less than 4 times a year, so I understand.

8:22 pm

wow. I would be very sad without chocolate in my life.

8:22 pm

I have 38 left, gonna try to eke out a few more by cutoff.... Good luck HH (and everyone else)!

8:25 pm

first day back to work after surgery and fireworks too

8:26 pm

congrats cheryl. you OK?

8:27 pm

done!

8:32 pm

good night all

11:36 pm

I am finished! I have fireworks! do6/27 was my last word.

11:55 pm

Any guesses on the next grid size? My guess is 113 words.
