we got news last night that my son in law's sister and husband are positive - she's in the hospital (hopefully discharged today or tomorrow) and he's been temporarily placed in a nursing home (until she's able to care for him again - he's elderly and needs constant care)
Oh, boy. In the last few weeks I have known more infected people. The virus is widespread.
If he is in a nursing home, then maybe he will get the vaccine.
my son in law had to help with the transport - he took mega-precautions, but now he's on edge, too

We usually have our grandsons over Christmas break. By Jan. 8, they will have been isolated for alost three weeks. We are planning on seeing them at that time.
i get so angry - my husband and i have spent the last months, like so many others, being so careful, only to see people blatantly break protocol. i know i can't control anyone else's actions, but it ticks me off that i've been living like a friggin' hermit only to see these people take such insane risks

Agreed, welki. And the rapid tests are most reliable for SICK people, not as screening of well people. The false negative rate is 18% for well people being screened.
We've had no positives in our school community yet.

people for the most part have been following rules, staying in their pods, etc. There have been some violations, but there are always snitches, and then the ppl are not allowed back until a quarantine.
I don't pretend it's perfect - we will have cases and we'll probably have to shut down. but it's been a blessing to be able to give the kids 4 months of in-person school.
