thanks lickety!
pa7 x 2
oh my - only have a pa 6 so far -- don't think this grid is going to be kind to me
tricky one for sure
fe7
ty jess
stuck at 71/51 -- may get back to it tomorrow -- still no pa 7's
cyber...think of pa 's box and change last letter for the 2nd pa 7
Could I have a clue for fe7 please
sorry, Jax, don't have it yet
fenagle
oops, sorry
Great clue ;)
Yep, they don't get more specific than that. : D
Phantom: orange
May I have stats, please, for the O in the first column and the D in the last column?
or4
Thanks for the OR4 :)
do6,24
Thanks French!
Lil, I like the picture. It looks very much like "Here's to a better year"
af
So we're back in lockdown. Ho hum.
Jeez, you are.....and for a long time, eh?
Sometimes I wonder if this crap will ever end.
I'm not surprised. we should never have had the relaxation over christmas and the SE and London should have been in tier3/4 much sooner than thry were. It allowed the virus to take hold and then spread when the mass exodus out of the capital happened just before they went into tier 4.
Not helped by all those not believing the virus is real or that they don't need to stick to the rules.
Sorry my rant is over. Like so many millions around the world, we're trying our best to stick to the rules and I totally despair when others aren't
Same here, jax......and my state is one of the worst :-(
Just hoping the vaccines get rolled out really quickly and it starts to make a difference. Some glimmer of good news yesterday, the rate is falling in the over 80's and they think that's due to the vaccine
Insisting the schools had to stay open was lunacy as well. We had a perfect chance at the last half term to calm things down but noooooo
Matty, what will they do when all the teachers are testing positive?
they will make them do online teaching from home like my daughter is doing
They just shut schools from today - on Sunday, Boris told primary school parents to send their kids to school and yesterday he said 'oops - did I say that? I meant to say keep them home.' I paraphrase
This mutant strain is worrisome. It will never end.
Morning all.
Raining herer in puerto rico
new year, new chat, good morning everybody
haven't stopped in for a while - nice to see you all
Missing lots of tiles.
Hi jbv
hi mkg - raining, but at least you're not freezing - it's 32 degrees here - may I ask where in PR?
True. Nice temps. I am in carolina.....near san juan.
nothin could be fina!
lovely - I know the island well -
My kids live in an area called something verde......near the beach. I think it may be isla verde. Not sure.
It is a nice area.
isla verde - east of san juan near the airport
must be beautiful
Very nice. Hot except for dec, jan and maybe some of feb. otherwise very hot.
I don't think I could deal with summers down there
Still cant see the q. Hmm. I welcome any help.
Oops just got it. Monkeys work.
think royalty, misspelled
Ty
I am always amazed to hear that people are traveling during all this COVID crap. I guess some places are less restrictive about travel than others. I would think it hard to be in the close quarters of an airplane tough.
I travel to see kids only. And thankfully all are in the u.s. i am careful with mask and hand washing.
And hubby had corona and has antibodies so he is fine.
And i didnt get it from him....which is miraculous since he insisted he only had a cold so he was sneezing and coughing all over me for the first 4 days.....
that's amazing. you must have some good immune system
you're very lucky
phew finally found the lone D. nbt!
Yes, that took some work.
Okay Harry, we won't call you one then. : D
that's not the worst I've been called...
this grid is....unpleasant.
50 left. coffee time. bbl
Have not seen that lone D word since Kim Jong Un used it
It was going okay, until I hit the P...
The lone D word was used in the HBO series John Adams. That is what I think of when I see it.
Damn, the Scot words stump me every time
I had to go to the list for that pa6.30...ranks right up there with do6.24
Good morning, all. Alas, the last P. Pa5/12. Any clues?
Ends in a double vowel.
Not a double vowel, but two vowels.
Happy New Year, Judi.
Thanks. That's fireworks for me. Challenging grid today, but not unpleasant.
Out there words in this one. Nan will be wailing.
er6/18, please?
booboos in published work, Freeman
hi all
thanks
yw .
What are the stats for the loan d in column 5, please?
do 6/27
do6.24 I think
sorry that do 6/27 they used the other d
Thanks
It's do24 thanks
glad you found it
free clue for my last word, pa6.30 = a horse that moves along at an easy pace. Happy Babbling! poof
Aloy is the Queen of The Free Clues
no.. scrabbler is
I'd call it a tie
Is this the full half hour or just the five minute argument ;)
well, howdy folks. stuck at 32 left, 12 of which are 4's.
and did not find Aloy's free clue word
or the lone D
that lone D is sort of an old one
lone D ends in most of a word for being late
well, it has to use the other D, so I've been trying to monkey around that
Carla remember when you got COVID blasted for RV travel? Someone said they were in Puerto Rico today and no one said anything to her.
wow
thanks, luv, got it!
I don't think that is what that lone D word means
more or less senile molly :D
I thought maybe one who dotes, but no
Oh it ENDS in most of a word for being late. I read that as the whole word meant being late. My mistake.
ok, just checking the flip. looks like I'm missing fe7, is that an everyday word?
Kind of, but I spell it differently
fernage - that forest has a lot of fernage
LOL, just read farther into the chat and found it
good morning everyone :)
Ooo, the best thing about New Year's Day is the leftover black eyed peas and cornbread. My black eyed peas turned out extra good this year.
hey nan
wow, just tried something for my last top row N and it took. such a weird one.
hello, babblers
welki!
Wynken and Blynken's brother did that when he was learning to walk
fe7 kind of a normal word but molly spells it differently is completely mystifying me
found that pa 6/30 thanks to aloy -- still no pa 7's though - any clues there, please?
if you try hard enough maybe you can fi7 it, hurshy
one pa 7 is a box
i spell it with an "fi"
ah, thanks
also a planet with blue people (pa7)
me too, welki -- maybe it is a regional thing
I think everybody spells it that way, nan, which was what molly was saying.
don't think so
kind of like poutine Nan? :D
didn't know there was a planet with blue people :-)
from the movie Avatar
yep -- and hominy grits
cnan, she opened a box and all the troubles came into the world - is same as name of planet
The definition is to obtain by trickery. I always think of that word meaning to work something into place
but also someone who had a box and everything came out of it when she opened it
ok - got that one, ty ru and carla
interesting, molly. I agree with you, that's how I used it in my clue
Is it about a box that gets opened? I bet its about a box that gets opened.
whose box?
molly you are hilarious
the planet
Not a squeeze box
the planet's box
mama's got one of those
She also has a box for her botox and sox
she's playin' all night
hi all
moooooooo
hey hoke, happy new year
yeah, we'll see ;). you too.
got to jump on a call, but wanted to say hi at least :)
stuck at 25 left. at a loss for the 11 4s I'm missing.
hi/bye
90 left...just started
monkey time for you hokie
I've already monkeyed every possible 4 from every open tile (guess not but I've tried)
oh, there's an easy one :D
name that composer - pomp and circumstance
I played that a million times in high school but don't remember
name that Tim Conway character (my least favorite of his)
played it at graduation ceremonies
<-----now has pomp and circumstance stuck in my head.
thought Hurshy might know that one
sorries
I'm sure it'll look familiar when revealed
y'all said there's another pa7?
anyway, it was Elgar
name that telecommunications company!
elgar, wow, never knew that
and have no idea who Tim Conway is
yes, hursh, different ending letter
ah, ok thanks
I literally just said FFS out loud. I feel like Harry when we said we hadn't seen woody allen movies.
eldon?
do you have an idea who Carol Burnett is?
yes i know who carol burnett is
so what was the Tim Conway character?
Dorf
Tim Conway was one of Carol Burnett's main players
ah. see i know who carol burnett is but haven't actually seen much of her show
I implore you to search on youtube for tim conway elephant story.
not having the E by the T is giving me a lot of phantoms
phantom nightmares yes
back for another 15 minutes
guess who's back. back again...
too busy here watching the elephant story
here, hurshy, try to follow the story between all the audience laughter. https://tinyurl.com/k47t8vt
missing one l and yes, I have the 6/24
How does one grow up in this country and not know The Carol Burnett Show?
she has said before her parents didn't let her watch TV
I, OTOH, was a latchkey kid and watched a LOT of TV
I am missing 2 L's, nan. looks like one is the 6/24. :D
You haven't lived until you have seen Mr. Tudball and Mrs. Wiggins
that one is a musical direction
hello all
missus a-wiggins
le 6/24
another great one is when he was a dentist trying to fix Harvey Korman's tooth
And there is a lot of TV that I have not watched (The Sopranos) but I know of it and who starred in it.
thanks, nan, found it a while back.
The best part of The Carol Burnett show was when Korman and Conway lost it and couldn't stop laughing
their main goal was to make each other break. my brothers and I always lost it when they lost. that was the best part.
fragel...when you have put so much gel on your hair that it will break off if someone touches it
one of the best things about the show was seeing how much fun the cast was having with it
fernage - a landscaping term used to describe filler in your garden design
faddle -- fiddle
s partner
Carla did fernage earlier
oh
didn't read the chat :)
it's an obvious word to everyone but enablers
did you pass me yet, moo?
20 left - still 8 4s
33 left here -- off to get something to eat
did you find your missing L, nan?
Tanape...a small brown finger food
notage - memos you take
er 6/21, pls
I gotta run and er6, BBL
*an, not and
ty carla
np
May I have a clue for the lone D in the last column, please?
kinda like the now offensive R word
ty, hokie :-)

♪♫High on a hill was a lonely do6/24...laydee ohdel laydee ohdel lay hee hee ♫♪
hi carla....
hmm..I don't think that's right Molly
now that has replaced pomp & circumstance in my head
found another 4 finally. 6 left now, 18 total. 6 5's and 6 6's also.
Sure it is. Old forgetful guys get lonely and like goats too.
My nephew and his wife have 8 acres and have been raising goats for years. i got her a t-shirt for Christmas that says Fairy Goatmother. : D
Cool!...

ty pen, weird one
very...
*!*~*!* any clues wanted before I leave?
congrats....too early for me, thanks...
ok -- off to play with my new toy
hagd everyone
taking a break....bbl to finish....
well I'm not seeing anything new. going to have to utilize the list.
back for some of these 26
There are some weird ass words in this grid. Min would have a hard time writing a story of clues that made any sense.
I went to the list at 17, looked up a couple. still have 2 I can't find.
ok, finally finished. did not enjoy the end.
15 to go here
I have no 7s. Clues and stats very welcome. Ty.
howdy all.
I would love a clue for the far right D
nm, got it from Molly's lovely clue below!
Hi jbp. Do 6: DO +someone with low IQ used to be called re****ed.
my phantom is petard
got it, thanks, mkg!
stats for top row T, or a clue for it?
I am also missing that T word. Sorry
Probably tr word
'that's ok, I don't have any 7s either, or I would clue
other phantoms include orange and orate. Perhaps by typing them here I will stop seeing them in the gri8d
Tr 4 is top T word.
thanks for helping my monkeys, mkg
still seeking 7s
Me too. Cant find any
i'm taking a break and maybe my brain will be fresher after a stroll with the dawg.
Got gl 7: a person who gl***’s. Biblical: after harvest people who were needy would go to fields and “*****†them for left overs.
I have two other 7s if you need clues
pa 7/36, pls
almost the same as the other pa 7/36 :)
which I don'y have
Open Pa 7 box.

Sounds more like what you would do with oars in a row boat
hey TO. inmplant starting to work. finally. i don't feel like i'm wading through mud when i walk now. so all is going according to plan.

Hi all! Question..I have a kindle fire my girls gave me so I could play again.( did'nt
H
Hi everyone.
hi ara...
Still learning as you can tell! I cannot seem to be able to transfer the word list to Licketys like when I had a computer. Does anyone know if it just does not work with this Kindle fire?
I have no idea....can you cut and paste at all with a Kindle Fire?
I have not had a reason to. I only use it for z few things.
well you can google "can i cut and paste using a Kindle Fire"...
Ahhh..good idea. Thanks.
I do believe I did it!! Yea!
cool!
Well I pasted the words but hit the wrong instruction, I guess, cause it did not takeðŸ˜
Finally!!!
give it another go...
i am done...
gotta go....bye, ara....good luck....
I would never be able to play this game on tiny screens like Kindle or cell phones.
Hello all! 122...means it's either easy or horrible, right?
done!
I didn't enjoy this grid so much - but I was off my game today. you might like it.
good night!
