i have to admit just having the freedom to stand up and walk to the toilet without looking for something to hold onto is so amazing.
you forget all the little things you could once do without thinking. being able to sleep in one position all night without pain waking you. answer the doorbell before the caller leaves, thinking no-one is home. just stuff like that.
How are U guys doing with Covid in Australia? Are people getting their vaccines? I am eligible but unable to get an appointment. It is frustrating! Hopefully I'll get it soon.
hope you get it soon too min. the roll out of the vaccine starts next month over here. first residents in aged care and their staff, then front-line workers, then people like myself with lots of medical issues. until it's my turn, i'm behaving like it is just around the corner. still using my mask and sanitising.
Unfortunately, we will still need to wear masks, stay 6 ft apart & sanitize even after we are vaccinated for awhile
this "herd immunity" is going to take while i think.
The roll out here in the United States has not very gone well. Hopefully it will go better now w/the new Captain.
In the meantime though, I just have to be patient and be thankful that I am alive and well.Keeping fingers crossed
morning - butting in on Covid - I tested postive on 7 Jan (picked it up from g/daughter who we think was asymptomatic from a work contact) I was lucky had no breathing issues but felt awfully grim with high temps for 3 days - I am recovering well - just fatigue is the number one issue - I need to be patient - In all honest I can look back and say I have had worse doses of flu in my life but not the hanging on of not feeling 100% fit for weeks after.

Thank you seain - definitely getting there - I have caught up with work issues (I work from home) and have had a lot of support - loss of taste and smell was not fun though - coming back slowly as well.
I have to say the first morning that my coffee tasted like coffee and not dusty water was a triumph :)

I have wondered if instead of bariatric surgery for obese people could be minimised by interfering with their taste and smell - really hard to eat when it all tastes like dust ?
i bet. that loss of taste and smell i go through each time i have a ketamine infusion. may not be an issue any more as implant is covering all the pain issues i had from waist down. (if i had a waist-line).
I have the antibodies and have had no irregular symptoms in the last year, so... *shrug* (yes, I've had my normal pollen symptoms but nothing that lasted more than 12 hrs... )

I never felt a reason to be tested, totally asymptomatic, but I've worked from home and have tried to have minimal contact with others... I only learned of the antibodies because I have a yearly blood analysis (for comparison) and was asked if I wanted to check that, too, so I figured what can it hurt?
Have wondered if I ever had Covid19. I have been tested 2x. The first time was for travel plans and 2nd time was for surgery. I tested negative both times which was good
That only tells you if you have it active (I think), not if you've ever contacted it... I recommend (to all) that if they have bloodwork done for whatever reason, test for antibodies... Even the Red Cross does it if one is a doner

Crap, can't hurt. At least you'd know. I can't find a lot of data on carriers (if you have the antibodies can you still spread the flu type thing), so I do try to be careful around others.
but I tend to do that even when I only have a case of heavy pollen... the building I work in (not open, yet, since March) has about 80 people in prairie dog desks and we have a yearly "spread the bug" fest. (No sick leave and who wants to take vacation to be sick at home) So, I have people coughing/hacking because they are ill and can't afford to stay home. At least we have "dividers" (like that helps with the air flow, lol).
I am most blessed that I can do my job from home. Being I already have lung issues, I'm thankful for that and do my best to not spread germs to others...
