my boy is over in Ireland for grad school and I am a lonely little cloud
but did have postcard writing parties until I couldn't so still write postcards
I was just going to ask about him...how long has he been there? staying safe - the COVID is bad there I hear
He's in actual Ireland where it is a little better. He got there in September and has basically been locked up ever since poor thing. A couple of trips to the pub and another couple to Dublin and then they lock everything down again
Locking down, shutting borders and masks seems to be the only way to get on top of it - and of course no socialising!

Here we have to sign up with the state, but then are also told to sign up for the mega sites at the county level. I had signed up with each first chance I had. Got emails from each of them a few days apart. The second one that came, I didn't need
i know, my nj folks are doing okay except they are unable to get the inlaws of west milford- got the mother but not the father. they are well into their eighties.
my teaching sil is not at all concerned,although she was teaching hybrid.

I know how it is. I was able to get appointments for my 93 year old mom and her husband. It's ridiculous. I have the time and abillity to spend all day playing games on the computer. It is not an equitable situation for people who don't have the time or the wherewithal

I don't think they did much to check applications here. Once they opened it up to 18 - 64 with conditions, they just flooded the system. The questionnaire asks if you have or had ever had a bunch of conditions. Overweight was one of them. THere was no verification. Crazy
but that's not your ticket to a quick shot.

i heard many folks day they are smokers. i do not know if this is true but there are always those who game the system.
I know someone whose children have food allergies. She put down asthma. These teenage kids got it already, before me, or all these older folks we know.

I miss browsing in the library also. Curbside pickup just isn't the same.
I've found that with the reviews I read in the New Yorker and the Times, and friend recommendations, I never browse anymore - my list is a yard long
