no blank tiles & no blank stats I believe
nbt - no blank tile : nbs - no blank stats
joy, have one word from each letter of the grid and a word for each number in the stats
thx
eids
oops
i'd love a clue for those AD words if anyone's still awake
To foreshadow, joy.

di8
ad8
Di/8 a compound chemical
Sorry
Sorry
Di/8 compound chemical plural
A clue for ad8 please? Don't understand the foreshadowing hint given earlier
ad8/65 - a + **** (stupid) + is it *e** or imaginary?
i have a question. how do the points work? do you get a bonus for words over 4 letters?
Tx cosmo!!
for 4 letters - the total point is sum of the points of the 4 letters.. for 5 letter words - it is sum of the 5 letter multiplied by 2 for 6 letters - multiplied by 3 etc..
ty cosmo
d
If you look at the HELP section (tab above the chat) it talks about what words are allowed and how words are scored.
di6? the first one?
di6 - used as fuel
di6 - used as fuel
DI6 fuel for your car
thank you :)
You're welcome.

Good morning, all. Yeah! Broke 200 without looking at Lickety.
*Puts a little gold star next to Judi's name
Good morning, friends.
Hello friend
How is your week going, Molly.
Fine, but more crappy weather is on the way
Yes, I heard we are supposed to get rain.
cloudy here
Cloudy here but no rain yet.
started off so well with the o's, now just finding 30% of the B
Look at ll those C's in the corner.
just need 9 more c's
6 more
If it is in any way frozen and falling out of the sky, we are supposed to get it. Wintry Mix my ass, it's a wintry pain in the butt.
may the odds be ever in your favor
LOL, Molls. Poised for same here in Delaware. The bane of winter.
* stomps on effigy of groundhog *
*Prepares to burn the effigy of the groundhog when Judi is done stomping*
each area needs its own groundhog, why should the whole country rely on one in PA?
also, wasn't there some shenanigans this year like he saw his shadow but it was snowing out? sketchy
Sir Walter Raleigh predicts it here in the Triangle.
in the mountains, you put a bean in a jar for each foggy day in Aug, and that is the number of snows you get that winter
That is interesting lore.
The groundhog doesn't even look for a shadow. The whole thing is a hoax. The grand poobah's in Gobbler's Knob decide shadow or no shadow and then the groundhog "talks" to one of them, in a special language that only the great grand poobah can understand. Must be some great weed up that way.
Beans in a jar. Now that's sketchy.
I'm running the vaccine van again today.
Oh that Bea, is there anything she can't do?
By the way, for all of you who enjoy Uncle Ben's products, the line will now be known as the politically correct "Ben's Original".
I can't wait to see what they do to Aunt Jemima.
Molls - they just announced the makeover for Aunt Jemima. There's no "Aunt" or "Jemima" in the new name.
So will he still be black or are they eliminating him all together?
what is the new Aunt Jemima name?
The logo for Ben's Original has no picture
here's an article for the beans...tinyurl.com/5942ktn8 if you google, a lot of the links are from NC, but this one is from the local (to my hometown) NBC station.
Pearl Milling Company is the new Aunt Jemima.
ok ty
I will miss Jemima and Ben
Pearl Milling Company...Has a ring to it, don
t ya think?
me too they were icons
I think the whole name change thing for Uncle Ben's and Aunt Jemima is silly.
I guess there is no picture of a woman on the packages right?
And icons in a good way. I never thought of them as deroggatory
me either
No faces on the new branding.
Do you think that's because we are white?
Next up? The animal rights people will be demanding that Tucan Sam be taken off the Fruit Loops boxes. And what of Captain Crunch? Captian's lives matter!
Yes, BzznBea, yes it is.
They'll have to take Uncle Remus out of "The Jungle Book".
Anyone have a clue for the UR6/24 and UR7/36?
I don't know Bea. Is the Wendy's logo offensive to white people?
I don't know, Molly. Has Wendy's iconography historically been used to support white supremacy?
The ur 7 ends with the **** of March
Wendy is a child. Wendy's is clearly displaying its support of child expoitatio. Oy.
Thanks, Bea.
yw
Time for a break. See y'all later. POOF
Wow, I have never equated Aunt Jemima or Uncle Ben with white supremacy. I have always thought of them as loving images associated with good food and family.
Exactly. That are the good negroes, the docile servants who comfort the white masters, and make them feel a little more comfortable with the obviously unjust society.
Not at all what I said. I'm out of here.
You have that luxury.
toad
oops, I was just trying to enter a word... that wasn't directed at anyone
We know - we've all done it.
thank you, but, contextually, it looks like I was being insulting, and that certainly wasn't my intention.
Thanks for the ur6 and 7...needed those.
ty or the ur words
i had heard they were changing the look of aunt jemima because of the "skin color" and uncle tom isnt it?
nbt
do people still buy aunt Jemima when there are so many other real and better syrups out there?
the smell of syrup makes me gag
i eat any of the syrups for the most part. My husband cant make pancakes that well
is the 10 a pl?
I don't have anything higher than a 7
yup
yes
hi bea
hokie neither do i
Hey, ru.
I bet you don't have aunt Jemima's around the house
I do not. Pure maple syrup.
*knew it*
yes MLF the 10 is a pl
hi mark
hi mlf )
hi Hokie!!
i just looked at the list, is it ad 8 9 and 10/
yeppers
Is it or it is?
If you looked at the list, you should know.
i didnt know if the 8 went with it or not
It does.
Yes, but the 9 is not the plural of the 8
no the 10 is pl of the 9
just need 1 D to finish 1st column
they are all related MLF
The 8 is an adjective.
saw an earlier clue and used morewords
and i just monkeyed the 8
i have all the d's if you need one hokie
ruru i am working on the d in the corner at the moment
sure, ru, if you want to guess at my left D
I have 4 that start with the same 4 letters and then 2 standalone 4's
nm, was a plural
1st column gray!
first four columns grey now.. on the last row
wow. 5th col is by far my most lacking. need 5 C's, 2 L's, 4 T's, 11 S's, 4 D's
hokie i only have 9 of the d words on last column
but i do have other words from the other letters on that column.. nothing greyed yet
the c's are killing me
guess my 2 c's from the bottom row :D
ca7 and 8
bea does it again!
actually no, it was ca5/6
ca7/8 must be from top
Finally found my missing r.
top R or 2nd row? I need 1 on top and R on other
second row r
not finding any of my missing c's or s's
40 left...all from the t and s in last column...egads!
52 here
ooh, finished that T!
nothing odd in the T's, bea
thanks
no budging on the other tiles. think I'll go do some work. 49 left for later.
good morning everyone :)
Hey, Nan!
hi une
hi cyber
may i have a clue for the do7 pls?
the one I have is the most do4
this is not a kind grid
not coming up with that ad 8-9-10
related to shadows
a 9 - a + stupid + **** of interest and plural
ty cos -- I thought someone had said it was a pt - not that that really changed anything!
a new word for me
thanks, Cosmo --took me a bit, but got it
there should be a law against this many d's
down to 100 - bbl
lol agreed cyber
its 8 9 and 10

happy hump day mool
tx ML...it's decidedly humpy today
is that good or bad mool?
44 left here but not much word finding. I seem to have maxed out.
yeah, a little bit sticky this one
agreed mool
do7 - do + when * (you) are not well, doctor advise you to take **** for few days
ty cosmo
it's a superlative...
she didn't like that clue, pen
sorry, didn't see it...
hokie's didnt make sense to me
I think I said it was the most do4
yes
all those vowels down the bottom half are problematic
still need 4 D's from bottom and 3 from 2nd col. the vowels aren't helping matters.
I need 2 off that D
need 3 from that second column too :)
need 10 from 2nd column d
I even got some weird ones off the 2nd col
yeah, I got some weird ones off there
9 now
well, found another D, off that second column
try some weird things,mlfan
phantom occur
and another d off that second column
i need 4 for the corner d which is like pulling teeth
ok, moo, do share
weird things sounds like babble ;)
hi wndrie
very true lol
Hello everyone :)
oh, the two I got were just 4s, I imagine the ones you're missing are more likely to be the weird ones
true, wendrie
I hadn't been working on the D's...trying to get all my remaining tiles with fewer than 4 remaining
have the M, R, A and C all sitting at 4
congrats
I'm really struggling with the S - still need 9
lower S
just need 2 on upper
I have a fun clue for an si5/6 off that right s ;)
on the last column?
if it's a musical instrument I have it
ditto ;)
i just found two more for that s
no, not an instrument
much funner than that
umkay..
found a d off the bottom....had a "devil" of a time with it :)
okay, for the s...
A French "mister" who forgot "himself"
i only have 17 words from last column s?
thanks Moo
didn't have that
have 2 remaining off that s
got 'em, thx
yw Wend
now for the devlish d
thanks for indulging me
18 now
which one hokie?lol
was about to give up when I read "french" but then I remembered mister
actually I was wrong on the devil one, it's an anagram of it :)
actually means "of or relating to a 24 hour period"
I keep trying stuff I think means that but I guess I can't spell right.
yeah, well this was only a 4 ,so perhaps you have it
diadumb - a stupid crown
that's what I should get today
my name is almost in the grid too
aw, come on hoke...this is a tough board...too hard on yourself
did you finish the i?
part of my name is in the grid, but only the first two letters are connected
mo
ah...noooo
well yes...but no
LOL
hey zoo
was just going to say IT'S RIGHT THERE
okay ho, I see it
Hello!
mobrat - a mafia informant
ok, I need to work on 2nd col. 2 B's, 2 M's, 3 D's.
wish it was mobrat(s)
for a moment I read that as "I need to wonk"
33 to go
not sure how one would wonk
do you need readers yet, moo?
yeah
I'm wearing them
but also didn't sleep well, so that always screws up my vision a bit
mr. homie is your age and doesn't really, but I have needed them for several years now.
yeah, I got them just this past year
I've been having BPPV lately, which I don't recommend. the v stands for vertigo. had a PT do the Epley maneuver on Mon. so I've been sleeping at 45 degree angle per reco. all that to say I have not slept well.
Sorry to hear that, Hokie. Not nice.
not wearing readers now but last night I ordered supper from a deli on an app. my son only wanted tomatoes on his chicken sandwich, but I unchecked everything except tomatoes, incl. the chicken. luckily they called me to double check. LOL
thanks, zooz, going back to PT tomorrow. I'm guessing she'll check to see if she needs to do the maneuver again.
sorry to hear that hoke :(
It is supposed to work really well.
finished the fourth column
that I can't use my phone without readers? LOL. I kill me. but thanks.
yeah, I think it has worked very well so far
still need 1 R, 5 A, 1 E, 1 i in 4th column
2 easy a's missed
any A words that are AE tricky british spellings?
nope, I've cleared the As
a couple that have ae at the end mind you
ok, I have tried that ending on everything I could think of so probalby have those. need 1 A on bottom and 2 on top now.
ooh, found the bottom. almost harry potter's profession
There are 8 AU words.
ok, I have 7, so that must be one of my missing ones from top
guess I'm missing one
oh, got it. now just one A from top
well, I need to get on a bunch of consecutive calls here now, so will try to get back in later
adieu to you (phantom)
phantom bruiser. thought for sure I'd found my missing B's
Maybe check for plurals, Hokie.
yeah, nothing sticking out, maybe a combo with a plural
found them, was a combo. don't think I've ever seen before.
Oh sorry I thought you were looking for just one A.
oh, still looking for that, thought you were referring to my 2 B's.
Nope A's
yeah, nothing sticking out on my list
For the B's you said you have not seen before were they the ones with alien on a bike ending?
aoh forget that totally different letters I was referring to anyway lol
well, they end in that cons. but different vowel. like a boston hockey team but diff last cons.
Yeah they are the ones I meant haha!
do you have a ca7/8? I heard earlier I need that but haven't found.
Back to the missing A..You do have the AR6 I take it?
yes, I have an ar6
AR4/6
have it
I probably need a babble blindness break, a BBB
AR 5/10 x 2
you might be on to something. I think I only see one ar5/10
Okie dokie, Hokie!
found it, thanks!
yeah!
one of those tricky ones
Yay! Okay I am out of here for a while.. Luck with the rest of the grid.
I dunno - sometimes the tricky ones are easy words in a weird way.... took me longer than I'd like to admit to find proto-toast ;)
bye zooz!
may take me a while to figure out what proto-toast is
do you know what Oreos are, Wendrie? not sure if you have them over there.
Reminds me of the first time I saw "digestive biscuits"
if you are like me you were like, WTF is that
anyhoo, oreo has come out with gluten free oreos that even my son and mr. homie agree taste like regular oreos.
I was and they literally don't have graham crackers in the UK. Which means...GASP...no s'mores
I heard a podcast once about the creation of graham crackers. kind of a crazy story you might find interesting if you care to google it.
I had to google proto-toast. I have Wasa Rye crispbread and a brioche in my bread box - from one extreme to the other.
Molly - we use digestive biscuits to create S'mores, there are chocolate coated ones which make quite nice s'mores too ;)
I do know what oreos are - and have had some gluten free ones.
yeah, I've had some GF brand ones before that were decent, but these are actual Oreo brand.
Okay I am in tears laughing at the story of the invention of graham crackers. The guy really thought his diet was going to be the end of "the scourge of masturbation"?
ah - I've seen them here as 'chocolate sandwich cookies'
and I have used all kinds of things for s'mores
sorry clg - was trying to be funny
Molly - there is a movie based on Kellogs 'the road to wellness' which is funny
I did not remember that part of the graham cracker story. The podcast I was talking about is these 2 comedians and one tells the other the story and he has no idea what it's about. quite amusing, and I'm sure they hit on that point in it.
yeah - Graham and Kellog were very much of a type
my go-to for s'mores when I can find them Molly, is the Goodie Girl brand of GF fudge stripe cookies
I really enjoyed wandering around Kohl's and buying gf groceries my last visit to the US. Thankfully most stuff is now available here too.
and I like to go to World Market and see what I can find from UK and elsewhere ;)
My local market has spotted dick and vegie mate I should explore other isles.
there's a chemistry joke in the grid. what do you get when you combine two ur4/5 molecules?
read the room, harry! LOL
yeah - ok. crickets.
89 to go here
found my first 8
What should you do if no one laughs at your chemistry jokes? Keep telling them until you get a reaction. Bah-dum-ching.
wow molly - good one! you can be an honorary geek :)
I did actually LOL at that
Is the answer to your joke diur4
yes. and I then found the di8 which I didnt have :)
does anyone have a better clue for the di/8 45
i only can think of one word and its not inthe puzzle
better than what?
swimmer williams and her friend iwth the same first name
thanks
I assume better = not chemistry related :)
duh.
though I doubt that synchronized swimming history is any better
well, I think Atl is pretty young, so swimming clue may be tough, since that lady was before my time
just need 1 bottom D now
I mean and 30 other words
well my other idea is JJ "dynamite"'s mother and her friend
Oh come on, a Google search on swimmer Williams is not that hard
dy-no-mite!
I am also only missing one D from bottom row
did her name have an H in it?
Ah Florida and James
i got it
florida actress.
harry's clue helped
ty
Yes, the woman's name has an H the chemistry thing does not
what is my missing i?
I am also missing one i :)
darnit
I want to know how Carla knows how old AltKru is
well, he or she told me one day they were in Blacksburg but taking a pandemic break from school
i talked about college
are you majoring in synchronized swimming?
atl is also better at brevity than me
or blacksploitation sitcoms?
hehe something with computers. kinda close hehe
I knew some swimmers and divers when I was there, no synchronized (at least in the 90s)
what are my 2 missing u's?
this friggin game is getting ridiculouser
today's is tough, fer shur
77 to go. gotta get caffienated before class. bye!
it is the ridiculousest game EVER !!!
bye, harry!
later
for 303 words - this is a tough grid :(
I only have 2 4s left and the rest are bigger, ugh.
agreed, ursh, usually a grid with this many words has more easy ones
Hi all. Please send clues for the 9 and 10. With stats. Ty.
ad 9/84 and plural for 10
ive gotten 146 . im happy. more than normal. have a good day all!
a+really stupid+how do you ra4 your chances

Could someone help with my last 8 it is the s and I am not seeing it. Thank you
dang, one R short of brrr
help with re8 please
shoot, I only have 2 8's, sorry peri and speed
why does the number of C words that seems reasonable always fall short of the number of C words that there are in the grid
i haven't got any 8s
hi all.not a bad day here sun is out. above freezing. supposed to get snow/ice next few days
I have 3 8's
I have been stuck on 5 c's left since I first started playing
well that's two less than i have left
I have 33 C words
I did hear there's a ca7/8 that I can't find
oh wait i wasn't counting the bottom C
I finished the bottom c so not counting it either
I have 5 c's left
ok i did the bottom C, that one was ok
from top C
you both have 5 but i have 7 :(
BUT at least i have my TEA
did you get the 2 similar to my name?
three, really, yes
I do now :)
what is TEA?
yes, 3, but thought you might've missed 2
other than what you drink?
TEA is a hot beverage which i am drinking
she is obsessed with drinking tea
I like tea too.
which i love and it makes me so happy
what kind of tea are you drinking, hursh?
did it or did it not help revive the doctor after his regeneration from Eccleston into Tennant?
black, decaf, at the moment
I like Earl Grey and green tea with mint. But I have several other flavors in the pantry
i have black, caff, first in the morning. then i have a variety of other kinds for after that, all decaf/herbal/etc
Hi folks - I'm drinking orange pekoe right now :D
i really really really wanted to like Earl Grey because it is Capt Picard's fave but i just didn't :(
stuck with 92 left
I find tea disgusting
I do love Earl Grey, but I know it has a strong flavor that wouldn't be to everyone's liking.
:.(...
bergamot
Yes. I got some with double bergamot recently and it is very tasty.
and i do love it. once had shampoo that had it and I was in heaven when I was washing my hair
have you done S yet, hurshy?
maybe you just have not found the right one carla. I also drink coffee sometimes with Baileys Irish cream creamer.
still need 7 lower
never had double bergamot. what brand, origami?
bbl
I can't remember, peri. The box is gone now.
speaking of flavors/scents, last summer my friend made chocolate cupcakes with lavender flavored frosting. i ate them, but i kept having to tell myself, "i am not eating lotion. i am not eating lotion. it tastes like lotion but it's not lotion. it is ok."
Back to the salt mines. See y'all later.
i have only worked on upper S so far, hokie
i'll do the lower one next i guess
I think I will get back to work for a while and then come back. really difficult at this point.
did you get the end of french mister, hokie?
hmm, i think lower S is easier than upper, i have 30 of them now and only 11 upper
oho, 12 upper now
13
oh oh oh did someone want re8 it is um like houses which are for sale

i haven't been there
i only know these people via podcast/online stuff

i feel like half of them are always about pee
understandably
or maybe i just assume some are pee words but they are actually something else
unusual words I'm afraid, in the mix there
well i just need 3 of them now
so that's not TOO bad
that is good
do you have the 6/7 combo?
ur... no
i have a bunch of 6 but no 7
that's what i figured
plural the ur 6/24
um, ur, ud?
ur

the 6 is ur+a 4 letter word that's also in the grid
sounds like a brand of frozen potatoes
ahhh ty
i forgot we can have that with U and not just O
hi all

hi j
I was tempted to clue it that way, but thought it wouldnt have helped much
howdy j

thumbs up!
still probably a couple of months before I qualify for vaccine I suspect
me too, i'm like, end of the line
I'm okay waiting...plenty of higher risk folks out there ahead of me
yeah
it's only when vaccines are going to waste because the guidelines are so stringent that we have a problem
yep
I'm 71 with COPD so I feel okay getting it now
definitely
yeah, you'd more than qualify in my part of the world
do7 clue anyone?
do7 the most do4
the clinic my friend runs melts the number of shots that people have signed up for that morning and if they do not show they start calling the standby list so the first person on that list that can get there before the shot expires gets the shot. nothing goes to waste
thank you
sounds like a thought out process jm
that is good jmc
I think so.
Was very difficult to schedule an appointment. All the news about the system being difficult is quite true. I jumped through hoops to get something for my 93 year old mother, who is diabetic, hypertensive, asthmatic, et al. But the appointments nearer to her house are impossible
it just varies by state
are there any AE words?
It does. But i've heard complaints from friends in NY, PA, MD, CT and CA
no, hursh
no AE
mk
might i have some help with the 9 & 10?
Still looking for them
the 9 & 10 are related to an 8, all three start with ad
a + mute (or not smart) + i****(angry)
oho, those are all the A words i need from that tile then
thankee
the 8 is an adjective
ty
i love when one gets a few with one fell swoop
yup - most satisfying
tx too, wouldn't have stumbled over those by myself
no they definitely stump the monkeys
can anyone help with the CA 7/40?
Silvery white element.

I'm going to have to list.
ah, the ca7/8 I could never get is of course a tricky british spelling
of course it is...not sure I have it
well, just add extra vowels in for no reason and you'll be fine ;)
awesome
my last D on the bottom is a regular word that I miss literally every time
just got to figure out what it is :)
and the 3 on the other were easy too
was it the 7/8?
yes
lucky guess :)
oh, what? the ca7/8 is the british spelling
yeah, I just need to figure...the british spelling of what :0
the D was fuel and the other D was the kind of day we're having here
I am missing a S 4 and I have no clue what it should be. Any clues to my vague request?
LOL, I will look, gramma, but I still have 1 4 left and a lot of S's so i might be missing it too
It's the last column S
ah yes, I had forgot the fuel...which is a little maddening because I thought of it before, but then dismissed it
a plural 3 gramma?
22 left here
what you sit on?
my cat
most of shiny fabric?
only because he keeps taking by chair
whoops,that is other S
haha
I'm sticking with the plural 3 guess
I have 4 4 10 4 4 4 12 10 4 14 24 4 10
well you're missing an early s4 off the top s then
or maybe I am
Huh?
no, I think it's the one that looks like a plural 3
the unit of weight in india
sorry those numbers don't correlate to my s4s...so not sure what to offer
yeah, that was the one I was guessing hoke
plural 3 gramma
I need to finish my se's to follow along
I have the plural oceans
another one
the plural indian unit of measurement
do you know the other name for COVID? ****-2 something. it's similar to that but change a vowel
or a homophone for a group of men/knights
Okay I'm just going to say it. I have sers
oh, good one
gooder one
oh
LOL, then I think you're missing the anagram of what you sit on
or when the s will get here ;)
nope got it
okay, the heavenly body?
or the location, or the thing that is not front or back
ok, you listed all the se's, so it's not that
Oh for pete's sake it was twinkle twinkle little
happens to all of us gramma
blinded by the light
ha ha
trust me, hoke even points out how I get these ridiculous words and miss easier ones
yep, happens to the best of us. and me too.
I have gone babble blind. Off to enjoy a cocktail. Thanks everybody for the help.
I just like making it hard for her to guess what I don't have
adios!
to god!
well, I don't know if you saw, but I went to the list. had at least 2 easy 4's. ridiculous.
21 to go...2x4, 10x5, 5x6, 1x7 and 2x8
I did see your posts about the d
15 here. stuck on those 2 darn M's
I think it's tougher on this board because of all the vowels, makes us all a bit blind
oh yeah, haven't looked at those for a while
probably
after the capital riots, didn't they have a mobsale?
LOL, one of my R's is another that I never, ever see
still have 3 r's to go
well, I can tell you it's not mob-related
all off the second row
I do have kind a blind spot on re words sometimes
well, now i have 2
this one is an re + a 3, which is why I never see it
oh, I think I have that one
Ax1, Bx2, Cx4, Dx1, Lx2, Mx2, Rx3, Sx3, Tx2, Ux1
still 11 here, SS MM R U Sx5
lot of S's
yeah, I haven't looked at the rest of S yet since we sorted out gramma
you could say they were superseded
sure sure
found my a
was one of the ones he had a couple of days ago
and?
oh, like you read my mind
sounds like an oracle, but think it has another meaning
was it a 5 that looks like a plural?
apparently it's more than one eyrir...which turns out to be Icelandic currency
oh, I need to stop typing until I read your answer
nah, I got that one earlier
thought that too was in that same grid
did you finish upper S?
finished my b's..saw the word earlier, but didn't type it because I wasn't certain it was a word
one S left on that one...2 on the bottom one
that has never stopped me from typing a word
Hard to take the boggle out
well, just skipped an S on the top and two on the bottom.
ah, an easy r5 I had missed
wow, I can't find any s's right now
seriously
you have the non freshwater crocs right?
so 9 left, with the list! ridiculous
although I guess if you're not in australia, it refers to a sailor
probably would offend Molly given her past declarations :)
canadian slang per dictionary. I do have those.
okay
got the mountains I assume
I need a clue for the first re 6 please
well, I can tell you what I'm missing but then that'll give it away.
re 6 21 that is
nancy, that is my R I had to skip. no idea!
oh really, if you find it please clue and I will do the same
I might just look it up. :D
re 6 21 to live
that's the one I had
still missing 2 r's so assume that's the first one :)
there is one before that
re 6 21: to have knotted again
that's after
yeah, not that one
well found an r5 I was missing
found it
ends in a french word
oh, we had it the other day. rhymes with stitching again
perhaps the fidelity of french water?
that's the r's done...15 to go
8 here!
mool, please clue to dummies the 6 21
do you know any french?
did you see mine, nancy?
like the french word for water?
no
ends in three vowels
yes i know that
then you have 5 of the 6 letters :)
look at my 5:01
finished my L's
can someone clue the st 8?
if you took out random indian words, currencies, botanical terms and anatomical terms, I think the dictionary would be substantially smaller
I saw that but I only have r plus french word for water which is only five letters
sandr, I am trying to look it up right now with no luck
you need to add a letter between the start and the end
apparently those are my missing S's
oh, we've had this before. trying to think how to clue, sandr.
geez, finally got it. ty all
13 left, and still 2 4's
if you take the other half of the comedy duo with Hardy...his partner's first name minus a letter + a word americans bad at public speaking interject into speeches + the last 3 letters of Hardy's partner's last name.
sorry it was work nancy
that is always a bad search those pesky re words.
thank you carla for st8
wouldn't have stumbled on that one
nancy, is there a way I could make my clue better for the re6 for future?
new word for me
wonder what idiot came up with that word
we've definitely had it before but I would never rem. it
it appears I missed it last time :)
carla, maybe to sew again pronounced in french
me too
didn't like my high fidelity french water then :D
ok
does not really rhyme with sew
yeah, I really have no idea, so I almost said "in my mind" it rhymes
but thank you very much for the delightful clue for the st 8
br7 please
I'll just leave it to the professionals next time
that was spot on
will go to list soon 75 left and do not want to stay at laptop much longer
peri, pt 6
don't have br6 will look
br7 ego, I dropped something on my foot and br7 it
ty carla got br6 and br7
and least you didn't get battered
I think I'm nearing the end point of my interest in this board
how many left mool?
11
had some help on about 6 words too
70here
good luck :)
will go to list
good luck :)
ty
I do not always finish
hoke, you still had some left over from the list right?
yep, 2 M's and 2 S's
peri, I only made it to 30 before listing
I have one S on each and 2 M's...along with a D, U, 4xC and a T
nm, found 2 C's
have looked up several and am about to look up the rest. I don't do it just to finish but I like to see what I missed/if I should know it/can I remember it next time.
coincidentally finished my 7s and 8s
I am missing si6/7 combo
2x4, 4x5 and 3x6 remaining
the mountains?
also part of the name of an african country
wow, yes
which translates as lion mountain
babble blind, though I probably would've thought proper noun
:)
m's are completely new to me
yay
got my last d
8 to go
I think your U might be a 4, but it could be a 5
was yet another easy 4
I have the bear and the city sounding one
and the nitrogen compound
this u4 is zoology and anatomy
never knew it was anatomy
but why not, reinforces my point from earlier
yep
C,C,M,M,S,S,T,U
do you want a "funny" clue for the M's?
sure
a spanish person singing the camp granada song. well, when I typed it I see a problem.
not sure what camp granada is :)
though it is spanish
ah, we discussed it not too long ago on here. allan sherman sang this song, hello *, hello faddah
oh
yeah, it's from I think a 19th century opera
which apparently was very serious
are there any clues for the ST8?
then got different words added to it
joy, i did a long convoluted one earlier that people seemed to get.
sounds german for the first syllable, and abbreviation for kin on the end
5:12 in the chat, joy
well, I got the m's....so the clue worked hoke :)
I appreciate the creativity on that one
well, in my mind it made more sense :D
6 to go
still one 4 too
what letters?
C,C,S,S,T,U
S and U in the middle column
C,T,S on the right
I'm guessing a 5/6 combo on the c
did you ever find the tricky british sp. c's?
the 7/8...yes
only have 1x4, 3x5 and 2x6 left
how about the 5/6 spelled almost like my name
ah, that would be it
4 remaining then
found my last s in the middle column
just a 4 and 2x5 left
do you have the powder?
found my last u
T and S left
both 5s
was it the 5 with all the vowels?
no...had that
finally got the ST8, ty hokie
you're moving faster than I can keep up
As per your username?
it was the elephant with the big ears, if he had been Dleted
no prob, joy!
the U and the anagram that's also in the board, are popular vowel dumps in sfrabble
that's the U I told you about earlier ;)
is sfrabble a knockoff? LOL
german version :)
found my final s
super!
if you collapsed a certain nasally endowed french detetcive into a single word, you might get this one
are you talking about the ice that falls and kills people on everest?
so just a t5 to go
may want to check your words. looks like all my T5's are parts of sets
wait, there's one
okay
one of my final words recently so I got it early today
yeah, have all the obvious sets
ok, it's that standalone one then :D
oh yeah, that was definitely a loner
well done
tx, and tx for the help
that was a toughie
yeah, hopefully tomorrow will be more fun
back again
Good morning all
howdy nan and lizlin
You made me smile Carla - my grandparents had that Allan Sherman album!

Perhaps it was a single - I don't remember any other tracks.
see you all tomorrow
have to figure out supper here. already after 7pm!
have a good evening and bon appetit
I never knew that the red wine in the grid is known as Shiraz in Australia!
ca 7-8 please?
ca 7/8 is a chemical element (I think - sorry to any chemists if I've got that wrong) and contains a Roman emperor.
I thought the wine in the grid was fortified, no?
No it's a blend of cabernet and shiraz grapes (so google says)
ah -- so they are not the same then. Shiraz is a varietal
Yes it says that in what I read.
Fireworks - time to go and make some bread. Have a good day / evening everyone.
That lone IS is driving me crazy...what could it be...someone tell me if it's an everyday word plz or a weirdo word?
hello friends
it's a weird sort of word, joym sounds like eeyore's favorite flower, if that helps?
end of the scottish flower
TY, Trifioso!
you are very welcome
not finding that ca - will leave it for now
Nan - ca7/8 try the ending of magn_____ (often a deficiency in the body)
helo, all. a clue for st 8/50 pls?
hey TO. will give it my best shot.
it means stupid or half-witted. st + german for tree, as in the the christmas carol + most of true, minus a vowel.
hi - try st & vwl & most of what you hold over your head in the rain - less the B
sorry it's very hard. lose the first letter of german for tree
Hi Rose

nbt
Good evening, Gwen. I haven't quite made NBT yet; still missing an O from row 2
is that a clue request? (hi nef!)
ou 4/5
oh, hey, bookwoman!
thanks. I was totally blind there. NOW I have nbt
hi gwen how are you, sorry have my nose in the grid
woot nef
me too!
i was going cross eyed which is why i glanced at the chat
I got here right between Gwen's 2 posts in chat. I don't think I'll finish this grid tonight if I couldn't see that obvious word!
i'm doing fine my my dad and my cousin (the only cousin I'm the least bit close to, and not even that close) are on their last legs
sorry to hear that. I am thankful everyday we are all still healthy. Lonnie got his first shot the other day
Oh,Gwen, I'm sorry to hear that.
That is so sad Gwen.
So sorry, Gwen :-(
are you able to spend time them?
not really -- one livesin CA (I'm in Mich) and the other is kind of a recluse -- plus I don't have a car right now so it costs about $45 in Lyft rides to visit him
pretty sucky so I'm trying not to think about it
I am sorry Gwen, it is hard when they are far away
Is is possible to get a clue for the ad8?
a+stupid+hook letter+mr gore
ty bookwoman
thanks, great clue
yw
nbs (i'm floored)
Yay, Gwen! Keep going!
the 10 is a word I learned from watching Doctor Who -- thanks Doc!
you probably never thought you would have a use for that word
you are correct !!
well i am 2/3 done and have at least 50% of every tile but one, so i'm happy to quit right now. Hope everyone has a great rest of the month -- cheers
good night. I have 12 left so I am going to finish. Enjoy your evening
Good night Gwen

clues for the ca7 and ca8 plz
oh darling stiddy. i was hoping for someone sane but you will do. xx
*sits near Suzee to steal clues*
rofl....
lol
Love you too, GR
suzee, start with roman emperor, finish with chemical suffix.
We're apparently going to get snow (for real this time) tomorrow.
super clueing GR *presents award for excellence in cluing*
stiddy, i am coming off the opioids. the implant is working well. but, gosh, the nausea and yucky feeling is vile. no actual craving.
oh gee, I hate even coming off prednisone, GR -- I cannot imagine opiod withdrawal. ((((gentle hugs))))
ty rose..wouldn't have ever found those
If you drop me a note in messenger with your address, I'll send you a note....
thanx honey. Don is being so patient with me. fortunaltely no tantrums as yet, and me neither..
Of course the way my luck is going this week it might be 8 years before it reaches you.
I am glad about the implant though. YIPPEE!!!!!!
so pleased to see yo though. i have been incommunicado for a while. holding my breath, trying to hope it will work. and it has. oh and did i i tell you about my fall/trip/meeting with the shower base face first?
OH NO! oh your poor face. When did this happen?
of course i didn't. well i have torn my biceps tendon. have to book in for an injection with ultra sound. *sigh* my right foot just didn't go where it should have.
drat
I'll send bubble wrap with the card.
And bouncy flooring.
funny things these right feet. you gotta keep them on a tight leash or they take off of their accord.
I am sorry about the arm, though. tendons seem hard to heal.
roflol... that's about the third offer of bubble wrap i have had. send some to spritey too. she hasn't fallen recently so she's long overdue.
Good to know. (readies pigeon for special delivery)
how you going? all safe in the stid household? please PM me if you would rather. i haven't heard anything about your Dad in ages.
Dad lives. With the help of a student's innocent question I discovered my inhaler was out of medicine so I got it refilled and am much happier. Tom is amazing. Wally is a goof. The boys are well. Mother is busy. And I never have enough time/energy/brainpower to get everything done. [that's the short version]
oh stiddy. okay, how long does your inhaler usually last?
about a month, but that one was about a week shorter than I expected -- and then I thought I had a spare in the closet, but didn't. Refill arrived in a couple days, so not too long.
front door bell. bbl xx
later GR ***blows kisses***.
I am almost halfway, so that's good enough. Have a grand evening/day/weekend all! *poof*
353 - next grid size
